Games, Goodbyes & Windy Visits

A bit of a sleep-in for me today—and especially for S, who I left snoozing until after 9. That’s his usual at home, though technically an hour earlier here. We eased into the morning with coffee while Chuck headed out to pick up his brother Dave and nephew Jason. It was a quick visit before the guys turned around and took Dave to the airport.

Back at the ranch, there was a bit of unexpected excitement—Katie (the boarded horse) had been picked up. Surprise to B, who came out to feed and couldn’t find her.  Bit of miscommunication with the ranch hands.

Once the guys were back, we settled outside despite the wind—it was warm enough to make it work. Snacks out, visiting underway, and Mom, Deb, and I got into a few rounds of Quixx before heading inside and a wind reprieve for cards.

Steph and Brady surfaced around then and headed out for sushi, while the guys came in for a late leftover brunch around 2. That rolled right into the horse race game, followed by Pegs and Jokers with Steph and Brady joining in.

Ashley and Robby arrived to add to the mix, and the afternoon carried on with drinks, dessert, and lots of visiting. Eventually, they headed off to visit her family, and we shifted gears into a couple episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Highly recommended prequel to Game of Thrones but much less "detailed".

Stephanie and Brady packed up and called it an early night—they’ve got a 3 a.m. airport run ahead. After 10, Chuck headed out to drop Jason back at his hotel, while the rest of us finished another episode before winding down.

S grabbed a shower, I finally got back into my book, and squeezed in today’s quick blog while he scrolled his phone.

Another full, easygoing day—just the right mix of people, games, and comings and goings.
