The day began under a smoky, drizzly sky—perfect for coffee in bed, kindly brewed and delivered by S. He was soon off to town for another rodeo work bee after ordering new carburetor parts for the weed eater. Meanwhile, I dove into marketing tasks and got my latest blog post published. Thankfully, the sun made a surprise appearance, bringing a much-needed boost to the garden and flowers.
Lunch was a cozy bowl of soup while catching up on Love Is Blind on my iPad. Then it was out to the garage to get back to the stubborn nightstand project. I scraped and sanded for hours, battling a pesky new drawer slide that refused to cooperate. B and Coop popped in around 12:30—she whipped up some horse food, left Coop with me, and headed off to Calgary.
B returned at 4, checked and fed the horses, while I stashed Harley’s delivered food in the freezer then had her do a bison parts hunt for her supper. B also finally pinpointed the abscess behind Roo’s lameness—a relief! After her horse care, she headed home around 5.
Back inside, I wiped the still-tacky table leaves with mineral spirits and applied another coat of stain to the tabletop. S came home just as I was finishing up, he showered, and dug into a plate of leftovers (the Ag Society forgot food for the work crew today, so the steak stayed frozen!). Then he was off again for the monthly rodeo meeting.
I painted a second coat of teal on the repurposed paper towel holder while fresh-dug potatoes boiled for supper—served alongside a leftover chicken kabob. It was a lovely evening, though the feedlot scent had me closing up windows early. I ended the day sprawled in the evening sun on our bed, finishing the final two episodes of Love Is Blind Season 7.
S finally arrived home by 9:30 and joined me just in time to wrap up Landman Season 1. A yogurt bowl for him, a cozy wind-down for us, and lights out to end a full and productive day.

The rain has sure made the grass grow. I mowed for four hours yesterday and pulled weeds. Today I worked at Farmers Market luncheon for Cynti then came home and mowed for another four hours. Tomorrow I will thin branches on the lilacs behind the house. So many dead branches.
ReplyDeleteIt sure has made things grow and saved me hours of hand watering and soaking hoses. We may even get a second cut!
