The sound of steady rain must’ve lulled me into a deep sleep because when we finally stirred this morning, another inch and a half had fallen overnight. Lac Kuhn had returned to the house paddock, seems the water table is saturated. With coffee in bed, we eased into the morning before S headed out to polish the truck—he had the actual Show & Shine in town today.
I got to work on marketing, though things feel quiet these days. I chipped away at blog updates and tutorial tasks with an iced coffee for fuel. Later, I slipped into the garage for some hands-on time, applying a dark stain coat to the dining table top and its leaves.
B arrived with Cooper and Clover just after noon while I was out dumping a water-logged wheelbarrow and quad trailer, followed by a poop-scooping loop. She let Roo out for a bit and sat down to enjoy her Tim’s soup. After lunch, we took the dogs for a good walk to burn off some energy, then I deadheaded planters while the sun peeked through.
B fed the horses while I gave Dexter: New Blood a try—but quickly decided to pass remembering why I quit the original series years ago. She headed off to town at 2 for a date night, leaving Coop and Clover here with me. Back inside, the dog pack scattered for naps while I returned to LIB(love is blind). Clover and I later ventured out to pull weeds in the wind, enjoying a beautiful 21°C afternoon.
S rolled back in from the car show around 4—no prizes this year, door or otherwise, but it was a good outing as I was weeding the garden. We decided to wrap up 1923, pausing halfway through the two-hour finale so I could prep a lazy cabbage roll casserole for supper. It was a cozy, satisfying meal to pair with the series end.
S moved over to his laptop and phone after supper while I started hunting for the final episodes of Yellowstone. With B’s date running late, the dogs ended up staying the night—making for a full and furry bedroom.

The dogs look very content, no matter what episodes you are watching!
