Mountain weekend sans TV

The lodge's double bed was a significant change from our king bed, and the floor above us echoed every footstep in the room. For some reason, they walked around their room until after midnight, making it a challenge to fall asleep.

The morning arrived early, with our upstairs neighbors waking up after 6 am. S woke up earlier to attend Mass at 7 am, which I skipped but was ready to meet him for breakfast at 7:30 am. The retreat is Catholic-based, so the early Mass is a tradition. The food was delicious over the weekend. The day was filled with presentations and workshops, which continued until almost 11 pm again. In the middle of the day, we tried to take a walk along the early elbow river, but it was too wet for the trails. Due to the busy day, we fell asleep easier tonight.

Enjoying a coffee as I headed to the main building from our lodge

Nathan sent this amazing photo of our sweet Renn. What a photo capturing her true essence. I love she is wearing the coveralls Britt and Stephanie wore when they were little.

Kaylin sent these adorable videos

Blind Lexi totally follows and trusts Renn as they explore Staples

These videos melt my heart

Sunday morning had breakfast served at 7:30 am, without early Mass. The day was filled with more presentations and workshops, good meals, desserts, and snacks, beautiful weather enjoyed during breaks, visits with other couples and presenters, and a wrap-up Mass at 3 pm. The ladies also received roses today. Overall, the couples’ weekend provided a lot of valuable information. The oddest part was the absence of TV and very limited cell phone use, due to the numerous busy workshops. I was OK with that, not sure what S thought.

Nathan also sent this photo .. big mug for little girl XOXO

This videos cracks me up!!!

We took a different route home, arriving at the ranch at 5. Harley greeted us happily, eager to have her supper. As we unpacked, pizzas were thrown into the oven, and dry ribs were cooked in the air fryer. I vacuumed the crazy amount of dog hair that was visible during the golden hour. S opened the mail and finally got to watch TV as his Flames were playing and going into overtime.

I gave Switch her medication early, she stood quietly, taking them quickly then I was on my way inside. Afterward, the horses put on quite a show, racing around and bucking in the golden hour, just as twilight began. S and I headed out for a soak in the hot tub as the sun set. Afterward, we showered, and I relaxed in bed to catch up on the weekend blog. S watched more hockey after his TV-free weekend, then joined me to read the newspaper for a bit while I finished my blogging. We then watched the rest of the Prime Target episode and a couple of episodes of Shrinking with a bowl of ice cream.

The 10+ weekend sure melted allot of the snow

watch the excitement they have for the weather
