Happy Grama Pat day! XOXO We awoke to fogged in -7 again, after our coffees I did some quick marketing then worked on creating an invoice for one of the bison meat sales for jarrod. S perused some more "how to retexture a ceiling" videos. After a quick banana I got back to working on these wall cracks. I am not happy with the serated edges of the tape showing so filled all the edges with a thin layer of the spackle. I also sanded the area near front door smooth before another coat of paint. This area I forgot the tape so will be our experiment as to if it cracks again with house shifting. There is a long crack in basement I don't want to tape because of what I am seeing currently with areas I am working on but will gauge after few months.
While I was OCD spackle filling the tape edges, the sun came out around 10:30 and temps rose to -2 so S took Harley for a walk to thegzate and back. The thick hoar frost always looks pretty in the sunshine. Back at the house S took the fork around for a poop scoop loop as I worked on blog post for today. Harley was back in smelling awful like she rolled in something dead but S did not see anything.
After we had lunch, he gave her a bath to eliminate the unpleasant odour. I got up on the ladder, scraping the edges around the drywall repair to create a flat surface for applying tape. Then, S loaded up his equipment and headed off to hockey at 1. Mom called, so we caught up on recent events, including the sale of the duplex. It feels strange because it has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, with originally my grandmother Thompson living there. She always had a green tin of humbugs on the fridge whenever I visited. I lived there as did Jamie. There are many fond memories indeed.
I was chatting with Mom while making horse feed when S returned home before 3 p.m. Apparently, he injured his hamstring while being an aggressive forward on the ice. Despite playing like he’s 20, he forgets he’s in a 60-year-old body. He hit the couch with an ice pack. I concluded my conversation with Mom and went to feed the horses.
While waiting for Bird to eat, I came back in and finished the drywall’s edge, then painted the filled and sanded areas. As usual, my OCD is not satisfied with the finish on the entryway repair. The sheen is off on the paint, and there are a few divots even after sanding.
When I looked out, Bird was nowhere to be found. Harley and I went out and found her near the garden, so I took her to the paddock gate and placed her feed tub there. She ate a bit and then lay down to rest in the warm sunshine, the temperature is risen to 5. While I was out there, I also scooped up a full forkful of poop.
Britt was out at 7 to drop Cooper off, pick up Shaina, and they headed back to town to have a drink for Shaina and supper for Britt at OJ’s. I scooped us both a bowl of ice cream and joined Sheldon in bed as the sun set after they left. The hockey game did not go as S had hoped for sadly. We watched more Running Point. Shaina was dropped off and Cooper picked up at 9 with B heading home and Shaina to her room. We actually turned off the TV after 10 wth an early morning ahead of us.
