2 less coyotes to worry about

The ground was covered in snow, and it was freezing when I woke up at 8:30 AM. Brrr! I’m glad my horse duties are over. I sipped my coffee while browsing Instagram. S woke up an hour later, made himself a cup of coffee, and crawled back into bed.

Before we started working on the bison business spreadsheet to make it tax-ready, I did some marketing. This was after S and I had completed the water line repair. I was just his Vanna White, holding tools as he connected and clamped the connectors. He put it back in service to see if any leaks and will leave for a few days just in case more repairs are needed. He then ran to our neighbors’ house, who had a small piece of drywall we needed to fill the hole in the ceiling. Afterward, I spent some time online with customer service on our credit card and FedEx after being charged duties for the paint supplies.

We had a bite of leftovers to eat. S answered a few questions about bison numbers that I had, and then he went to hockey after 1 p.m. I continued working on the spreadsheet for a couple of hours, but I couldn’t finish it because I needed more answers from him. I also tried the first few repair steps suggested by the paint company for the coffee table, but they only made it smell really bad, like a gas-like liquid.

I opened the garage doors to let the fresh air in while scrubbing all of Har’s dishes. The temperature is a brisk 3 degrees Celsius today, but fortunately, there’s no wind. Amanda visited the doctor today and was diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia in both lungs. She’ll need to be on antibiotics to recover. Get well soon!

I returned to working on computer tasks till S came home after 5. We cracked a cold beer and got to  work on the spreadsheet.

As we were working at our desk, I looked out to see a coyote by the island. To my surprise, there were two of them right here, sniffing and pooping in our yard. S ran and grabbed his gun, while I held the door open. Crack! He shot one, and then the other as it ran east. Lo and behold, the third one was here too and shot off east as well, but there were only two bullets in the gun, so he escaped. They were definitely brazen to be so close, looking for cats. That last guy had better stay away. Shaina and Matt saw a huge fox when they came into the yard on Saturday, but foxes seem to stick to gophers.

S ran out, jumped in the ranger and picked them up to dispose of over the hill.

Back to this bison spreadsheet for S and I. B was out for her usual chore time. She also squeezed out Harley’s eye and applied more ointment. We took a break and ate very late supper, then back to the spreadsheet. This is organizing the bison partnership that S and Jarrod started in 2021, which is a challenge because the years were “shoebox sorted” without any years being laid out in the same format. This was the same with the way things were balanced. It is hard with a "partnership" bookkeeping. But it seems closer now. We did shut it down at 10 and headed to bed.
