rainy Stampede day

Friday started out with a bang and thunder and a bit of rain rolled in as Sheldon headed to work at 6. The morning stayed overcast and breezy with a bit of sun now and then but when I went to feed the horses their herbs it was sure humid with the moisture in the ground. Britt was planning to come home from the lake today but with all the rain I said she might as well spend another night up there so she did.

Sheldon had another Stampede lunch party but I passed on this but headed to the city at 1 to pick him up from said party. It was held at a very fancy Ranchmen's club right across from Lougheed House.

seems the bathroom has REAL towels and mats at the urinals
and the buffet even served prairie oysters for stampede ;)

 the elevator emblem
and front reception area.. pretty snaz

It was then off to find parking, so cheap at $25.. good old stampede gouging ;) The grounds kept us entertained with working cow horse competition, grounds entertainment, crazy motocross show, stampede band coming indoors during a rain blast, trade show (where we found a new hand held vacuum, miracle window squeegee and sheets of lottery tickets) station saloon for supper (beer and wings) before heading to the Lady Antebellum concert

not bad seats..floor row 12

We walked the grounds after the concert getting Prince a soft ice cream then decided to head to another vantage point to watch the fireworks before heading out

I got us safely home just after midnight where we found the lake had returned, the dogs soaked to the skin and water laying everywhere, yep 2 1/2" while I was away this afternoon!
