It’s Valentine’s Day ♥
I started it the way any proper day should begin — by making and delivering coffee to the prince in bed. Then it was off to feed the cats and pups who, according to Cooper, were absolutely starving… despite the fact he normally eats around 6:45 am before B leaves for work each day.
S had the Olympics on bright and early — women’s - hockey, of course. I delivered a second round of coffee and tucked into a big Spanish lesson to get my brain warmed up.
Then it was productivity mode: finishing and publishing Thursday's post, completing Friday’s, and starting today’s. Once the keyboard work was handled, I headed out to toss hay flakes for the horses. The air had that crisp edge but the sun was trying its best.

Back inside, I organized the furnace room food storage — one of those oddly satisfying tasks that makes you feel like you have your life together. Then I started my new puzzle while simmering chicken away for soup. Multitasking at its finest.
I brewed up an iced coffee for the Olympian spectator and myself before we took a break for a dog walk in the plus-4 sunshine. It looked warmer than it felt — brisk enough to require a toque — but beautiful all the same.
B came out to join us for hot homemade soup after feeding the horses. A simple Valentine’s supper — warm bowls, easy conversation. She headed off afterward to Amber’s to watch the new “housemaid”movie.
S returned to the sports TV while I wrapped up my puzzle session for the day, finishing about a third of it. Not bad progress for one afternoon.
At the usual 7 p.m., we started Season 2 of Peaky Blinders. And shockingly… we made it through four episodes. A Valentine’s miracle. We finally shut it down at 11:30.
No roses. No fancy dinner. Just coffee in bed, hockey, soup, puzzles, and time together. :)

Vance and Ki joined us for stew last night (Monday), then tackled a few hours of puzzling on the horse puzzle from Boysis family. Very difficult!
