It was a disrupted sleep kind of night. S was up at 1:30 for a shower, and I with a headache that lingered through a few more mid night wake-ups — including Harley needing out. We finally surrendered and started the day after 8. I did my Spanish lesson, then hopped in the shower and glanced out the window to see the willow already pushing pussy willows. In February. Wild.
Coffee was made and delivered to the Olympic viewer, and I enjoyed mine at the puzzle table. Shaina and Matt surfaced for theirs. I put the kitchen TV on for S to join us with Shaina heading back downstairs around 10:30 to take a few calls.
I cooked sausage and managed to finish the puzzle before scrambling eggs. The boys dug in first, with Shaina joining after her sales calls later for hers.
Around noon Boysis’ family arrived — minus Lexi, who was enjoying a rare home-alone day. The house instantly filled with that sweet family buzz. Kaylin brought a couple new card games and we played through the afternoon, laughing and learning as we went. S joined in for some rounds, B popped out after her day of cleaning and joined for a bit too. After feeding horses she even took Renn out for a quick visit with them. It only hit a high of 1°, and you could feel the colder weather waiting in the wings.
Snow began lightly falling as everyone packed up after 4:30. Boysis’ crew headed out first, then B and Cooper, with Shaina and Matt lingering a little longer before grabbing a few last things and heading off. Such a full, lovely family day.
Once the house quieted, S and I launched into a five-hour Peaky Blinders marathon, pausing only for yogurt bowls and pet duties — including S calling both cats into the garage for the night as the winds picked up. Lights out at 10:30, halfway through Season 3 and thoroughly peopled-out in the best possible way.

An excellent day! I spent mine recuperating from full day volunteering in kitchen.
