With my back still absolutely killing me, S kindly took over tossing hay for the horses while I was very easily lured into placing “just a few more” puzzle pieces. I chugged a coffee and swallowed an Aleve, hoping for some mercy all the while hearing Shaina's voice "you're only getting weaker if you're not getting stronger lady"!
After I cleared off my garage worktable, he helped me wrestle the ginormous coffee table out of the car and up into place. We headed to the city before 10, dropping him at Rockyview for his elective surgery scheduled later in the afternoon.
From there, I made my way to Costco for groceries—and, naturally, came home with more than groceries. I scored a new orchid and a bonsai, both in celebration of the Chinese New Year of the Horse. Apparently plants are my happy place.
Tea and a muffin as lunch from the drive thru, I made it home by 1 and slipped right back into the puzzle in the lovely sunshine. A quick break took me into town to pick up Cooper before 4, with a necessary swing through DQ for a $3.99 cheeseburger and Blizzard early supper. Back home… back to the puzzle.
The new plants got watered—though the bonsai came with an unexpected spider situation. UGH. Why didn’t I look more closely? Meanwhile, all the orchids enjoyed their proper soakings like the queens they are.
B came out around 7 straight from work after her review. Wonderful news—she received a raise and a generous bonus, both of which will ease her financial stress. Well done, B! She and Cooper headed home not long after.
I was texting Sharon in Maui confirming the challenging shades of blue in her puzzle. It seems they’ve been without power for 24 hours, and it’s been raining since they arrived. Not exactly the best start to their vacation.
I kept puzzling until I finally forced myself to stop after 8. The evening wound down with finishing the season of Bad Influencer, followed by some reading before calling it a night.
