I had the best start to my day with a 7:30 FaceTime visit from Renn and Kaylin. I made my coffee to match theirs in the city while we chatted. That imaginative little human is endlessly entertaining.
With my second coffee, I tackled some accounting and marketing. Harley was fed, I jumped in the shower, and the bedding went into the washer. Naturally, the puzzle called to me — and I answered. All but the very top remains now… the dreaded 100 shades of blue.
Harley and I headed out into the sunshine to toss hay for the horses — one flake at a time, which proved to be a much smarter and far more doable approach. Back inside to remake the bed and pretend I wasn’t thinking about the puzzle again.
It kept calling, but I behaved (briefly) and ran to town to pick up Cooper since B would be meeting Grandma for supper after work and it was too nice a day not to bring him out. Back at the ranch, the pups chewed bones in the sunshine while I continued my puzzle progress.
Then came the text — S was ready for pickup. Off west I went. I completely forgot about rush hour, but heading west wasn’t bad at all. I arrived in the usual time and wisely rerouted home since eastbound Glenmore was bumper-to-bumper.
We were safely back by 5. I fed the pups while S hit the sheets and fired up the big TV for the Olympics. He’d had a troubled roommate hearing voices and had other demons through the night, so neither of them had slept much. He was exhausted and needed a proper nap.
B asked if I could feed the horses, so after a quick FaceTime for specifics, I mixed everything up and hauled it out. Those six feed buckets felt heavier than a ruddy bale. Trying to position six horses into their designated spots with a misbehaving back was like herding burning cats — but I did it. Bale flake by bale flake again which timed perfect with pokey Bird's slow eating.
Back inside, I finished the puzzle then cooked an iron-rich supper filled with S's favourites. We finished the last two Lincoln Lawyer episodes. B popped by in between the two to share her researched Super Bowl halftime interpretations and collect her little buddy.
After the series wrapped, we tried a new thriller — nah as the words do not match the French lips. Two comedians — two more nahs. Clearly, it was time for bed.

The dog caller was successful with Lexi. Ididn't see Beans respond ;-)
ReplyDeleteIntricate puzzle, nicely done. Thanks for feeding so Britt and I could bond.
Lexi does listen well especially when food involved :) You are welcome, glad you two had a nice supper
