Tires, Renn rodeo and Red Lobster

There were no requests from Harley to go out in the middle of the night or the night before. However, I woke up after 5 again and made mental lists. Then, I woke up after 7. It was time to browse through the pictures on Instagram before I had my coffee. Once S woke up, he got dressed and prepared to head to church.

After a shower, I wrote a Hometalk post for the back china cabinet then worked on blog posts. S returned home with teas and a donut, which turned out to be our lunch. It appeared that his tire guy wanted them to be picked up now, so we had to rush to pack up and leave. I packed up Shaina’s food that she had received from Grama P, but had forgotten. I knew I was forgetting something, but S was replicating GG waiting in the truck, so we set off. Twenty miles down the road, I remembered - the Boysis Christmas gifts from Grama and Papa. Fortunately, I’m returning on Friday.

So, it appears I mistakenly clicked on the wrong address of the guy. After finding we were at the wrong house, we found the correct one a few blocks away. Unfortunately, the guy wasn’t there. Despite receiving several texts suggesting we wait for 15-20 minutes, he eventually called us. He informed us that the tread on the tires was still good, with about 60-75% life left. This was a lie as one was worn and the other was only about 50% tread. Disappointed, we bid farewell to the guy.

On the bright side, S had another guy he was dealing with, so he called him. We headed to Airdrie, where he found one excellent tire right away. However, the other excellent tire was nowhere to be found. They spent almost an hour searching his Sanford storage  area without any luck. Nevertheless, S managed to take another tire in good condition. Thankfully, the temperature was a pleasant plus 8 degrees Celsius.

We then set off for the Boysis household, arriving before 4 p.m. Shaina had returned from snowboarding, K from work, and Renn was thrilled to be the center of attention. She’s such a unique character. And a pretty good ball rider (see below)

just look at her motor skills

This little cowgirl can stick a ride, making Great Grandy proud. She did many rides then requested the crew get a turn as well.

Dada gets his turn

then Bapa - I think it is so sweet how she pronounces Grandpa as Bapa

and finally auntie

She and I walked the dogs, then went on our own to look for any remaining Christmas lights. After the football game reached halftime, we headed east to our reservation for supper at Red Lobster. We had a delicious meal. Thanks, Grama and Papa, for the Christmas gift!

That is garlic on my crab legs, it along with all the handling to get my crab out made for a good hand scrub after :)

Papa had a stomach tube inserted to remove excess air from his stomach after an abdominal X-ray earlier today. It wasn’t a pleasant procedure, but it’s hopefully worth it. He also is now fasting til tomorrow, boo! The temperature dropped from plus 3 to -2 as we drove home. Harley was sleeping and not hungry, so she skipped supper. We wrapped up the evening watching some AppleTV till S fell asleep and I watched a bit more before I called it a night.
