It’s a cool overcast day to start with. I woke up with a dry throat for the second consecutive day because I mouth breathed all night. Even with medication, it still feels like someone is sitting on my chest. I scheduled an appointment with the doctor for Wednesday and then fed the pets. Once S woke up after 9, he called, but he won’t be in until next Monday. He’s also feeling under the weather, so he’s relaxing in big brown chair while I set up the new Nespresso coffee maker and make him a cup of coffee.
Shaina and Matt’s flight was diverted back to the gate due to a passenger’s health issue. The resolution process took over 2.5 hours before they finally took off for home. Coincidentally, when I switched on the TV, I caught a breaking news report about Trudeau’s resignation. This unexpected event certainly brightened up many people’s days.
After lunch, he headed to town to return the Keurig before the hockey game. Unfortunately, it was voted no because the plastic pods are very environmentally unfriendly. I researched ordering more aluminum pods for the new machine and then did some marketing. It was time to paint the growth marks on the rulers. Once finished, the stencils were washed and left to dry. I’m almost caught up on the blog; I just posted yesterday, and have our trip to Huatulco to go.
S requested hamburger soup for supper, so that was my next task. I had it all ready when he arrived home from hockey, coffee klatch, and grabbing a few groceries at 5. He mentioned that his game was rather slow today due to this pesky cough and congestion. After savoring a hot and tasty bowl (or two for S) of soup, we decided to treat ourselves to a hot tub soak since the weather is warming up for a chinook this week.
It was then that we finished a British series on Netflix in bed. Britt, who was out to feed and chat about her car’s oil change, mentioned that she needed new rear brake pads. However, it seems that this was an issue that they never informed her about. S will speak with the dealer tomorrow to address this matter. Britt left as we began watching a baseball show based on a true story called The Hill. It was a great way to conclude the day.
