Brrr! It was -12 degrees Celsius when I woke up before 8 am. It was just another typical day, with pet feeding and coffee preparations. B had planned to run to the Hat asking us to join her, and she wanted me to make her horse food first thing in the morning. So, I got it ready.
The green magnolia table guy sent an EMT, so I marked the house as sold on all the sites. S searched for tires while he ate his oatmeal. B finally texted at 10 am. She had just woken up and wasn’t feeling well, so the trip has been postponed. The tire search initially led us to going to Calgary, but then he changed his mind. So, I continued watering the plants and updating my blog. S took a nap on the big brown couch before having leftovers for lunch.
I finished updating my blog, then out to check the coffee table top was now dry. It looked a bit browner than the base, which is a nicer color, but now it required the base to be painted or washed. I applied another layer of oil and moved it around to dry areas over the next few hours before wiping it off.
S resumed his tire search, comparing various prices and plans. When he went to check out the car tires, he found one with the cord showing through! YIKES! That’s why the car drove so scarily the last times for both of us. Consequently, he shifted his focus to car tires instead of his truck. I touched up the ruler names and then applied a final clear coat.
B was out to feed her horses then return home to rest. S added water to the hot tub and performed a shock treatment. Although it hasn’t been used frequently lately, the -2°C makes the tasks manageable. I watered the basement plants, and it seems I’m still a spider plant killer. I can grow fiddle leaf figs like a pro, but spider plants, not unless I plant them in my garden.
Late afternoon we started the movie Killers of the Flower Moon. It is a 3 1/2 hour movie so today was a good time to watch. We took a break at 6 so I could cook the last HF meal - chicken tikka masala. While cooking it up S found his Flames were playing. This captivated his attention now.
I was watching the Morning Show when S came in from the Flames’ win and wanted to finish the movie. This is a long movie that required yet another break for me to make us yogurt bowls. Finally, it finished after 10 p.m. I’m not sure I would recommend this movie. It’s long, and the awful truths it shares about atrocities against the indigenous people could have been told in less time. The characters are irritating, but I guess that means they did their job. After the movie ended, we watched a couple of uplifting episodes of Shrinking before going to bed.
