prince goes golfing

Sheldon was off golfing with Craig and 2 other guys heading out before 9. I got started black waxing the sofa table and while it dried I went out and trimmed Pepper, Daisy, Hawk and KD's feet since the rain makes it easier. Even though it was only 21, it felt hotter as the sun was now out full blast.

After a refreshment and a bite to eat I put another coat of black wax on the tables and again left them to dry. The Illingworth's messaged they found a route flying to Seattle then taking bus to Vancouver. They will check their place in Vernon and then fly to Calgary Monday from Kelowna; such worldly travellers.

Sucker for the sunshine as now 24 I went out and filled the quad trailer with poop and watered planters. It and the wheelbarrow need emptying but it seems the golfer is sidetracked with beer ;) He did arrive home around 5:30 having quite a day on the links or was it drinks HAHA

After supper, Sheldon hit big brown, Britt went out to brush Bird and I hauled in the little table to snap a picture but ended up putting another coat of wax on it. S found a movie, Proud Mary so after we watched it I went out and removed the wax off the table top as it looked blotchy ;( Oh the extra work I give myself. Britt hit the sheets after her brushing of Bird tuckered from a week of late nights and early mornings.

Asher and Ada visit

It rained off and on from 2-3 am with quite the lightening however when checked this am there was only 1/2/10th but that was ok. However it did not fare well for a white dog who returned after I let her out later with fresh crap on her neck. I was washing it off when Amanda dropped the kids off. By drop, it was literally at the gate as not wanting to upset Archer who was to go for a doctor check up. Sadly he was still upset. The dogs and I met the kids on the road and hiked back to the house where we had snacks then ventured out for an adventure. S finished his yard road scaping as am plan. We met AJ at the road and had Archer hike back to the house with us. Not sure that made his day though as he has a fear of big dogs so wanted to be packed.

pretzel eating contest with no hands

first attempt not so good, next he got up

then there was the chasm leap that he made but did plant his face in the bale as he landed

looking for a hiking stick, how about this? no it is covered in sap... yep it is on my hands now

A short visit with Aj and snuggles with Aislyn and they were off for home at 1 for lunch and naps.
serious to smiley

I posted the white dresser blog post live before a quick bite to eat. Then it was time to scoop some more poop before getting back to the navy milk painting project.

The table had 2 coats then black wax added

The gravel guys arrived to put one load from the first curve to the house and dumped a small pile for the sidewalk fellows lined up for next week. Of course they all had to have beers and a visit.

Once on their way, S quickly leveled out any thick areas they dropped with his box grader then made a trip to town to get gravel for around the island. He returned with ice caps which was nice as my garage was 26 even with doors open and it only was 25 at the highest outside.

I had planned to use navy fusion paint but went with the same navy milk paint for the sofa table to applying 2 coats and leaving to dry over night and gave the table another coat on the top

Another forecast thunderstorm built up and rolled in soon after S got back home dropping another 1/2/10th in short order. He was skyping with Blair in Barbados while I tried to update things and answer sales emails but the weather had the internet very sketchy.

For a late supper after 8 I heated up the meat pies and oh were they yummy. S says they are just like shipwreck, one of his favorite meals. I liked the steak and cheese best but the hamburger cheese was good too. Eating 2 for me was too filling and I was stuffed for the rest of the night. S just hit the big brown to stretch out claiming he was feeling just right.

We were just finishing up the movie When the Bough Breaks when Britt got home at midnight after staying in the city after work.

Lola’s spa day

Today is Lola’s big spa day. There was a worry when we went to load her up to go and she was not to be seen. A call and she made her way home but the other fart was not to be seen. s took the quad around the peremiter with no luck but eventually he made his way home from the SE corner of the winery. Of course he did not want to be caught so we left him as we ran her in. As we pulled into the yard Matt was ahead of us to pick up bales for seating at his crop tour. S used the skid steer to move them back down and Matt loaded. I started to work on the custom pieces we picked up the other day.

once all cleaned up the veneer on one side needed gluing, thank goodness I have a few mini clamps

After lunch S started to level the yard road with the skid steer. He finished up around 2, changed quick and drove the quad over to the crop tour. I was outside setting up the quad trailer and started to pick poop off the closest paddock when Shaina arrived soon after S left. She unloaded and loaded things then had a quick bite to eat and visi before she was off to train Sharon at 4.

I ran to pick up Lola at 4:30 stopping quick to pick up my freshly made order of meat pies. I had ordered 24 for meals when our company was to be here and forgot to downsize when the plans changed. Sharon wanted to try 6 so stopped on her way home from training not long after I got the fluffy VERY white dog back to the ranch. I even let her come in and see the house she is always dying to come into. She though the couch was super comfy and Cooper’s snacks very enjoyable.

By now Sheldon was texting the food truck had arrived and I best get there. Sharon was picking up her pies and after giving me a ride to the gate where he waited ended up coming over to eat too. It was the most perfect day; there was no wind, bugs or sweltering heat hovering around 22ish. The meal was good but seeing we only caught the tail end, I drove us back home dropping Sharon at her car.

Back at home, S sat out at the fire pit and eventually started a fire. I started to paint the oval table but it was not long and the dogs headed off to the winery to bark at the harvesters. I took the quad and chased them home but of course Lola got her legs dirty running thru the grass and dirt to get there. Matt was at the fire having brought he load of bales back which did not get unloaded back to the men until much later, this time using the elevator. I had to chase the dog back home again... this is not fun.

B was now home and she and I caught the horses and went for a beautiful evening conditioning/schooling ride. Bug sheets were put back on the 3 closest mares before B & I came into shower and chill for the rest of the evening. S came in once bales went up and Matt headed home after dark.

Nexus traveller

Cooper requested to go out at 5:30 then was ready to go play at his usual 8:30, just like a clock ;) Rain came down thru the night off and on and a quick check showed just over 2/10ths. It was not long and we were headed to the city on this overcast day. I have my Nexus interview at 11 and made it with time to spare. S dropped me at the airport doors then ran an errand and waited in the cell parking. I was done in just over 10 minutes!! The lady who bought the teal spice rack was to pick up in cell parking but of course she was late so he waited for her, I grabbed a tea and boston cream and he picked me up back at the doors by 11:30, mission accomplished. I passed with my card coming in the mail, hello fast lines.

Our next stop was Costco to pick up a few things then grab a few boards at Rona for growth rulers and headed for home. Back at the ranch before 2, we got unloaded and S waited for a fellow to stop by and do a yard/road quote and of course ended up having a beer on the deck.

Sharon stopped by later in the afternoon for a visit. S sorted the horses back in pens for the threatening rain and it did start at 5 as Sharon was leaving and went for about an hour. I ran out in the rain and swapped Daisy and Hawk pens to keep an eye on the chubby girl. When the rain was over I checked and we had just under 1/10th.

Sheldon ate quick before his rodeo meeting at 6, Britt and Dave arrived to join me for supper then were off to watch shark week in the TV room while I did marketing. The frame blog post went live. Back home from his meeting around 9, S enjoyed a piece of cheesecake and a visit with B&D before D headed home after 11.
