1032 - restoration hardware inspired coffee table is finished

Day 1032 again up before 8 with bid D needing out, so did Chanel since I was going by. A few games of candy crush. Then it was time to wax the table 2 more coats and sand the coffee table. I also took apart, scrubbed and put first coat of peacock on a mirror.

Britt ran to Stouts to check dogs and give Roxy her pills before I dropped the girls at the gym around 12:30 to work out while I ran errands. First to vet to get more "old bone serum" for D and fat dog food for Coco, then a tan before picking up a few online purchases. I grabbed more supplies at Rona and picked the girls back up just after 2 and off to the ranch. Britt quickly got ready and head back to town for her 3-7 shift.

Kaylin Aaron and Lexi stopped for a quick visit to drop off and pick up things as I was putting 2nd coat of peacock on.

Shaina made spaghetti and around super time the customer returned to get both whitewashed tables. It was bitterly cold out, brrr. We could not get her car gate closed so ran and got baler twine and tied it to the bumper. Poor girl will have to listen to the chime alert all the way back to Calgary but she said she was fine with that. she also stuck her lulu workout clothes on the edges to not scratch which I hope are there when she arrives home. Shaina put a blanket on KD to help shed out her hair rather than shaving her for Mane event. She was then off to town to socialize around 7 and Britt home just after 7:30.

I waxed the mirror and the coffee table and brought in for staging. Restoration Hardware look out!

 Have I mentioned anything more about our sailing  trip to the Exumas Islands in the Bahamas? Well this is our sail boat for us two couples. Glen our captain will celebrate his 50th birthday the day we sail out. It just so happens Sheldon and Roxanne are celebrating the same big birthday this year so the trip will be in celebration of 150 years!! Today was book hotel for first and last nights but so far nothing is firmed up but best get on it as the time is only getting closer.

1031 - white washed desk success

Day 1031 I was up by 8, it is teacher convention for Britt so next two days of school off. Only 1 day she went this week, lucky girl. I woke her after 10 as she was to head over to Stouts to get dog pill instructions and brought Chanel back with her to stay with us while they are on a mini vacation.

I worked on the matching table I found to create another white washed desk. Sanding alone took nearly 2 hours then it was painting time. I also sanded, scrubbed and painted a low pine coffee table in more of a barn board color. And an barn board was scrubbed and readied for another rack.

Shaina was off to work for 11 while Britt read all day but headed to work for 5:30. I continued on the paint job of the tables then took a break for supper. Britt was home just after 7:30 and back to her book.

I went back out and put first coat of wax on the table and painted the low coffee table  a layer of white and grey on the base after a quick sand on the top. I am liking the barn board look, what do you think?

time for a hot bath and reading for the night after another busy day!

1030 - Happy Bday Dad

Day 1030 Britt and I were up and off to Hanna. Gas and a tea before hitting the road and of course in our usual bad luck, we hit a snow squall half way there. It was crap and remained on the way home until about the same spot it started.

Britt had impressions and new retainers made while I was just hoping to get my bridge recemented but instead it ended up an extraction ;-( I grabbed her a teen burger and me sweet potato fries for our lunch on the stormy way home.

A quick stop to deposit my recent Creative Moments sales and then to Amanda's so Britt could let Samara out before we headed to the ranch. Shaina was getting ready for work having her supper and was off for her 4 o'clock shift followed soon behind by Britt for her same start time. I called Dad to wish him a happy birthday! They had gone to Medicine Hat on the weekend to celebrate Uncle Don and Auntie Mindy's 40th

Diego got his shot and I had some soup and the last of my yummy dark chocolate popcorn while I waited for a customer to arrive to check some furniture. It all went good, the table was perfect and a matching one ordered.

I curled up to read getting dozy by 9 but the dog and girls had other plans. However once everyone was home before 11 I nodded off to sleep!

1029 - up up and away

Day 1029 Sheldon was off early catching a plane to the great white north. Britt was off to one of only 2 days of school this week. Kate left early followed by Rachel as Britt left for school. The other girls left during the morning as well. I finished up my book I had troubles ending last night then did accounting which seems to have flown by since last time.

I grabbed a tea and got busy waxing the round table. Then painted a second coat of the Paris sky on the end tables and spray painted the hard ware oil rubbed bronze. Once dry I distressed lightly for character and staged all items and posted for sale.

Shaina took the dogs to the dog park for an hour then was back to rest. I had the satisfaction of putting away all the Xmas bags sorted in the spare room and vacuuming and such. My new job keeps me from the housework! Gail stopped out after her work for a paint lesson on some frames she had purchased bring my first roll up the rim tea, no luck on winning anything sadly.

Shaina made spaghetti and meat sauce for supper, yum thanks Shaina! then she and Britt headed to town to workout, this being Britt's first training session with the gym gal. I had a hot relaxing bath while they were off and closed my current auction. Once they were back home we all watched Blackfish in my cozy bed. This is a movie you should check out (currently on Netflix), thought provoking for sure.

After the movie I read until late starting a new book called A House in the Sky, a true story..Canadian girl held hostage in Somalia
