Day 834 awoke to misty rain, I checked the gauge and sadly only 1/10th but we will take it, anything helps. I headed off to work. Sheldon enjoyed coffee and his tablet before running to town for errands, dropping Sharon and I off a hot tea then running to Calgary for his course starting at noon. (This allowed him one more day at home)
Shaina called with car troubles but luckily Britt's car was only one left so she took it to work for 11.
When I got home after work Britt of course was still sleeping. I had her go let the horses out to graze. I got busy mixing paint and got started. I also stuck chicken bones on to make soup ion such a dreary cool day.
first coat done
I did some laundry, threw on some ribs and updated the blog while I waited for it to dry and by 4 I could paint the 2nd coat. Shaina got home from work around 3:30 and about 4:30 she and Britt ran to K&K Livestock to use their gift certificates from 4-H. After the 2nd coat was successfully on I worked on the pine coffee table sanding and wiping down ready for stain tomorrow.
Sheldon was back home from his course around 5:30 so I jumped in and we ran to town to get the swather. The girls returned home while we were gone treasures in hand. I finished up the chicken soup, put the ribs in the oven, cooked yummy new potoatos and a fresh salad. I love summer cooking. OK I love cooking.
Sheldon pulled into the yard cutting a swipe to the house as he did around 6:30. Shaina ate some soup and took off for a jog about the same time. After supper Sheldon and Britt took the swather out to open the field and give a refresher lesson.
Darren and Sharon came over for drinks around 8. Shaina headed to town to visit friends and go for wings but around 9:30 Kaylin pulled in to drop Lexi off and join Shaina in town. Darren and Sharon attempted to go home at 10:30, Kelly, Sandy and Cassidy came to join in the fun. Stouts headed home at midnight, the girls came back home soon after and just after 1 the rest of us went to bed. Creasy's camped in the yard in their motorhome. Kaylin stayed the night as well.
