Up at the shocking hour of 9am today — I honestly can’t remember the last time that happened. Clearly I needed it. After a quick bit of marketing, I headed outside to get a clear coat on the kids’ chair seats and give the wood frames a good drink with some salve.
I shifted into full-on plant mode—hauling out more planters and arranging them with cautious optimism that they can now stay outside (fingers crossed Mother Nature behaves). I also set up the new robot vacuum (parcel at gate last night), which meant the usual shuffle of furniture and “pre-clean clean” while it mapped the house.
S made a run to the pit with the wagon I had filled from deadheading flower beds, and just like that, the front yard was looking pretty darn tidy.
We were just about to head to town for Ada’s ball game when B popped by, off for a ride in the now full-on 20-degree sunshine (finally!). We made a quick Tim’s stop for a late lunch, then swung by the library to drop off my book and pick up my herb and veggie plants from their fundraiser. Bonus entertainment: the fire department rescuing a little girl from a tree. Small town life at its finest.
Back home, S got busy sighting in his gun while I finished off the edges of the chair seats with some more decoupage detailing and gave my new garden plants a good soak in the sun. The robot got sent out for another round, and S claimed the couch for some sports time.
Supper was next level — BBQ ribs that were absolutely delicious. Time to take Harley for her walk with the herd joining us as we went.
We capped off the evening with a hot tub soak… which was relaxing right up until it wasn’t. Something landed on my forehead, I instinctively brushed it—and squished a bee. Unfortunately, it got me back with a sting. Fair enough, I suppose… but man did it smart.
S headed back to hockey (of course), while I sent the robot out again to deal with some mysterious muddy footprints (no names mentioned). I settled in with some Netflix until S finally gave up on the games and joined me. A couple episodes later, I was done for the day, while he stayed up a bit longer doing his usual phone scroll.

Horses appear to be following the pied piper.
