City Errands, Sunshine & One Heavy TV

Today was supposed to be a warm day, so we fully committed—shorts on, coffees in hand, and out the door just after 9 for a city run. An accident on Highway 1 rerouted us down McKnight, but honestly it worked out well, getting us to the university by 10. The bigger challenge was actually finding the right building since S hadn’t scoped it out yesterday and was hoping to go on memory from 18 years ago.

I dropped him at his knee specialist appointment and headed over to SugarMe with the plant table and a few more things for Shaina. I loaded them into Kaylin’s car for later pickup, then Kaylin worked her magic with a quick lower leg sugaring appointment before sending me on my way while she carried on with her busy day.

I had just pulled into Market Mall when S texted that he was finished, so I zipped the four minutes away to get him. Of course then came the hunt for his forgotten water bottle while I sat outside enjoying the sunshine.

Lunch was at Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza which hit the spot. The next few errands had me staying in the sunny warm car while S grabbed hearing aid supplies, ATV oil change supplies, and attempted to buy ammunition… only to realize at the till he’d forgotten his PAL at home. No sale.

I had planned a Costco stock-up, but the weather was too nice to waste indoors, so we headed home instead, grabbing Cooper on the way through town.

Back at the ranch by 3, I took the dogs for a long perimeter walk while S puttered with the tractor before settling in for hockey. The wind started creeping in again—boo—but it still reached a beautiful 21 degrees.

The jewelry box project called next with paint touch-ups and gold detailing added over the original spray painted gold, while I also hauled the planters back inside, watered the strawberries, and tucked the chives in with them.

By evening I had fully settled into reading mode stretched across the bed while hockey moved from the kitchen TV to the downstairs TV room. I did interrupt my book long enough to walk a plant stand out to the gate for a lady picking it up, accidentally tricking the horses into thinking food had arrived.

Later, just as B arrived to feed, the sun broke through perfectly, casting that dreamy golden light across the bed while I kept reading. Absolute heaven.

Then came the surprise late-night workout. Shaina called saying someone was on the way to buy the 42" TV from her room. The lady arrived almost immediately, so I somehow hauled the thousand-pound monster upstairs while B held the yard gate open waiting for Bird to finish eating. The TV successfully loaded and both B and the buyer headed out shortly after.

I happily climbed back into bed and read until almost 11. Got a lot accomplished in my book tonight—and even S read for a bit before falling asleep too.
