Britt and Dave come to visit

I beat the girls to the couch by quite a margin. I went upstairs after 7, and they didn't come down until just before 8. Kaylin made us iced coffees today, which was lovely, followed by some playtime with Nathan. Kaylin left for work around 9:30. Nathan then went to rest in bed, and Renn and I continued playing.

Beans needed to go outside for a bathroom break, so Nathan came down to supervise Renn. Britt and Dave arrived just as he finished up. After a brief greeting, Nathan returned to bed to nurse his headache, possibly worsened by the impending weather change. Renn was delighted to entertain Britt and Dave, showcasing her newly acquired skills. Meanwhile, I managed to take a quick shower and started a load of Renn's laundry.

She also demonstrated the perfect nap routine by asking to go upstairs after putting on her sleep sack, and showing Britt her sound machine. After a few songs and snuggles, she laid down and fell asleep at 1. Meanwhile, Britt and Dave went to the mall for some sale shopping and a meal. I folded a couple of loads of laundry while starting a new series 1883. B & D returned, finding the mall incredibly busy - a reminder of the big sale weekend.

Kaylin arrived home before 2:30, with Renn waking up shortly thereafter. Britt picked her up, making a quick stop to greet Dave on their way down. Renn was initially reserved with Kaylin home now but warmed up by the time they left at 4. Then friend and client of Kaylin's stopped by with freshly baked healthy cookies for a brief visit. 

I prepared a bison pasta sauce with fresh tomatoes and penne noodles, which Renn enjoyed, much to my delight! While I worked on the blog, Nathan relaxed on the couch, and Kaylin scrubbed up the pots. Renn kept everyone entertained with her chatter and singing. Nathan prepared her bath and then took some painkillers for the first time since home before settling in, while Kaylin bathed her and I completed my Spanish lesson. Afterward, I resumed watching '1883', a show I had started earlier today during her nap.

K came downstairs to join me, watching as she completed her online tasks. She whipped up some slushy lemonade with her new machine. We each took turns taking Beans out for his bathroom breaks. She headed to bed at her usual 10 pm, and I stayed up to watch one more episode before retiring for the night. Of course I had to watch some iPad before falling asleep.
