chinook winds - pic heavy

Sheldon was up and off to the city early for a doctors appointment. I got up too after deciding to stay home due to a sore knee but was able to do another coat of poly on dresser top, put hardware back on the drawers and start hauling it inside to stage.

The old drawer was now dry so I oiled it up with danish oil then snapped a staged pic.

It seems the FFF contest does not have to be finished with the sponsor product which seems odd but whatever. The group encouraged me to rethink my plan and still enter so I contemplated this balloon back chair. I started the deconstructing process and 3 hours later I had many wounds, filthy hands and finally the chair apart. It seems this antique char has seen many redos; the staples and holes are plenty.

check out the staples on the dust cover alone
the peach velour was a recent modern update with loads of glue holding the trim down from a hot glue gun

once the top was finally off it was more deconstruction
true antique with horsehair filling and burlap layers with webbing, all had become dried and fragile

this was a fraction of the hand smithed nails I pulled out.. my hands were filthy
and bellding after a few slips with the screwdriver while prying away
eventually this was the chair almost all deconstructed other then many more staples and nails int he seat area

Sheldon had gone from the city to town for his 1 pm massage then grabbed electrical supplies and a tea and was back to the ranch around 3. He helped me try and bring the dresser inside but it was just too long to maneuver and not scratch the fresh paint job so I staged it in the garage.

I was to take part in a webinar at 5 for small businesses. However part way thru, Travis arrived with tea, THANK YOU! to pick up Mom's bison. We had a quick visit before he was off to Amanda's for a cut before heading home.

The chinook winds howled all day hitting plus 16 again. they died a bit after supper but started again not soon after. We enjoyed fresh bison t-bone steaks before enjoying a hot soak then Sheldon was asleep around 9 as I responded to emails. I posted the dresser just before getting in the tub and within an hour there were 3 buyers and 4 other interested parties, guess I should have done the white one grey too ;)
