I was awake early again to a grey, dreary morning around 7:30. The sun peeked out briefly, then disappeared as I sipped my coffee and scrolled Instagram. About an hour later, S joined me with his cup, and we fit in our Duolingo practice before the day got rolling.
I spent the morning on marketing—creating an ad for the nightstand to get it listed, polishing up tutorials for it and the custom table, and even dropping the price on the bar cart in hopes of a sale. With no market this year, I’m beginning to worry about all the pieces I still have to move.
After his porridge, S headed outside at 10 to check equipment, while I went out to tackle sorting treasures in the cargo trailer, FaceTiming and sending videos to the girls along the way. Plant care, watering, and weeding followed—never-ending tasks that leave me wondering sometimes, is it all worth it?
Lunch was leftovers, with B heading out afterward. She trimmed Roo’s feet while S tinkered in the shop—adding and purging items, organizing the workbench. He also changed out one of the baler belts after I helped him get the lacing spot positioned. I continued sorting treasures, then swept and hosed down the front deck to lay out our “new-to-us” rugs. Sweet peas were gathered for a bouquet indoors—their fragrance filling the house.
While B fed the horses, I walked the dogs to the gate and back, then enjoyed some fresh peas in the garden, there are more than we could possibly eat. The plants are loaded—I may need to post a U-pick! B returned later to meet Amber here, and the two took off for the city to see Freakier Friday.
I dug up a hill of potatoes and prepped supper—bison steaks, grilled zucchini with cheese, and BBQ packs with fresh onions. After he ate, S headed to the custom hay place, while I slipped into the hot tub for a short soak (extra bleach made it a bit too much). Later, I watched The Biggest Loser documentary on Netflix.
B returned from her night out with Amber just before 10 to pick up Cooper, calling as she left to say the gate had broken off its hinges and was dragging on the ground. She shut it down and let her dad know. S got home after 10:30 to eat and watch TV, by which time I was already in bed, lights out.

The stone bench looks great in its new home! Can't wait to try it out!
