I was awake by 6:45, courtesy of some enthusiastic snoring. After a few nudges with no luck, I surrendered, poured myself a coffee, and got to work on blog posts. S didn’t stir until after nine and then stretched his coffee-in-bed routine almost to ten.
Meanwhile, I headed out to the “workshop” to finish the nightstand. Fresh hardware and drawer glides went on, and since the drawer bottoms looked sad, I lined them with some pretty wallpaper from my stash. Once everything was finished and hauled inside, I snapped a few photos. By then, S had toasted a bagel to near ashes before starting on the cargo trailer. He moved the fragile boxes from the back seat of the truck on the deck.
Around 11, Mom called with wedding chatter and flight planning. I text B to double-check her flight info before booking hers. Then it was back to wrapping up the tutorial for Monday’s blog post on the new color release media cabinet.
Outside, I began sorting boxes and plants while S test-drove his “new to him” push mower from Candace—worked like a charm. Tools destined for the Boysis household got tucked into the trailer for delivery later.
After lunch, S took a recycling run while I kept hauling pots onto the deck, then dug up fresh potatoes, zucchini, and beet leaves for AJ. She arrived around three, battling with the #3 on the keypad again, and we visited for a while as I deadheaded planters. When S returned with Cooper after 4 he was back to edging with the push mower. Amanda headed home around 4:40 as S switched to the ride on mower, I was watering the parched planters, and the wind had already toppled a few yesterday in the storm.
Kaylin and I chatted quick wedding updates before wrangling supper for an upset Renn. Here, I cooked pork chops in mushroom sauce, fresh beets, zucchini and onions, and coleslaw—all garden goodness. S ran the grader down the road, then came in just in time for the news.
B stopped in for her treasures from Grama and Papa, fed horses, and headed home with Cooper. Before the evening wound down, I roped S into helping me move the cement bench and the big crock pot—making the trailer look less like a storage unit at last.
Back inside, I FaceTimed Mom to help her book her Vegas wedding flight, which turned into a long, lovely visit. Thunder rolled at 10 but left no rain behind., turns out it was the fireworks show in the city. S dove into a lengthy reference letter for a friend while half-watching sports, eventually moving the project to bed. I curled up with my laptop, trying to catch up on three days’ worth of blog posts—still a week behind, but inching closer. I then read for a while before it was lights out.
