They called it—a full-on rain day with a side of wind. After a breakfast of bagels and cream cheese, we wandered over to Darren and Sharon’s to give them a crash course in Spite & Malice. Turns out, a rainy morning in a warm trailer with friends is a pretty great way to start the day.
By lunchtime, we piled into our truck and made a soggy pilgrimage to Brooks for lunch at Iron Hat Brewery. The place was quiet, the Mexican lager was a hit with the beer drinkers, but the food… let’s just say “packaged chicken fingers and soggy fries” won’t be on my list of top culinary moments.
When we got back, Doug and Toby had arrived and were already set up. D & S went for a post-lunch nap while we bundled up in blankets under their awning, catching up as the wind whistled now that the rain had eased. D & S joined us after their recharge.
