Day 1

A beauty day at the office today. It started out slow with an apple juice box on the deck in the sunshine. The fridge is stocked with water bottles, Pepsis, apple juice, beer and snacks (chips and nuts). After sunscreen was applied we headed to breakfast grabbing a baileys with a bit of coffee. The buffet had delicious fruit and S favorite omelet. The best part of a tropical vacation is how plump and hydrated your skin feels!

the day started off cloudy

but soon burned off to sunshine

Time to find a chair, we chose the adult only infinity pool. This was home for the rest of the day. The clouds came and went  but it was always warmer then home :) There was an activity game guessing the mount of chips in a bottle and I won guessing 142 and there was 143! I won a $150 gift diamond gift certificate and a waterproof beach holder!

S spent most of the time in the pool, I brought my lunch to the pool side. Which enticed S to follow suit eventually. Mid afternoon S joined in a beach volley ball game followed up with a swim in the activity pool.

A beverage or two in the hot tub only to realize we had 8 minutes to our dinner reservation. It was a quick scramble out of the tub, up to the room and to shower. We made it to the restaurant just after 6. Steak night for us with my fillet much better then the rib eye but all still good. We even had room for dessert but it was pretty processed so did not eat all.

does it look Italian?

amazing wooden horse in the Mexican restaurant next door

We took a walk down the street to see the nightlife. Rock & Brews is right across the street; it is owned by Gene Simmons but closed since Covid started and yet to reopen. Back to the hotel we had a drink then a decaf coffee/baileys to warm up. The evenings are cool on this side of the ocean. After the Mexican show ended before 10 we headed back to our room where I watched some McLeods and S was sound asleep.
