oats come down

Friday middle of August, up at 7:30. I guess this gives me time for coffee and candy crush before getting on with the day. I wanted to get creative today so back to my stack of wood. I sure want to use the wood pieces left from the barn build esp the long 2X10 pieces into benches but that requires help from the busy Prince. I also want to make a sign for the gate but that too can wait as I moved on to the mezzanine and grabbed a chair to paint one of the new colors I got. I also watered plants and expanding the horse grazing area. Britt had a late start to the swathing but it was ok as the rain from last night was still pooled in areas. She did get started just after 10.
Mom brought this baby bench, how cute
Papa brought this full size one.. I have always wanted one, yeah!

I put out the new chairs and swept the fire pit area, now if only the mozzies would vacate for a fire night
and here is dresser waiting for hardware.. sigh

Papa brought me a bench from GGK house a while back and it called for me too. I got out the sander and sanded it down and both it and the chair got a good scrub and left to dry in the sun. When Britt stopped for lunch just after 12, she helped carry the dry bench in the garage where I got started painting it Grandma's favorite color, purple!

The chair got Country Chic's new summer color called ocean breeze, so pretty, once dry I distressed it then added white highlights.

The bench got a metallic rub over all the cast iron to add a bit of sparkle.

before and after

Britt worked all day on the field, Sheldon said to go slow and she is doing just that, did I mention she is paid per hour! LOL

Sheldon got home late due to a late interview then ran to get tractor parts, he kindly offered to grab supper on the way to bringing home Edo at 6:30. Britt stopped to eat then headed back out to finish the field by 8, 10 hours of cutting today. She and I then went riding and I rode Switch!! The boots work amazing, so wish I had them a month ago. It was so nice to get her out even if the mosquitoes were ravenous. I got her biopsy results back last night and it is confirmed she indeed has equine sarcoma ;(

While we were riding, Sheldon took a loop around the hay pasture, it looks great too. If only the rain would hold up for a few days to get this all rolled up then come on back! We fed the girls then jumped in with Sheldon to run to town for fuel and a blizzard. Back at the ranch I put another coat of purple on the bench, Sheldon got into the Olympics and Britt got changed and was off with Josh to the casino! (not getting home till 4 am!)
