E collar training

It was odd H never wanted out in the night nor had she come in by 7:30 when S got up to pee UNTIL I remembered S let H back in last night as we were finishing our Yellowstone trilogy. Sure enough he had locked her in her kennel and forgot to let her out. Poor Harley. Of course she was happy to get out, not happy to go outside though but did wait patiently occasionally holding my hand in bed til she got breakfast after 8:30.

S got the coffee going and 1 in bed before moving to the island and me the computer. I put a second coat of white on the plant pot and left to dry. I watched quite a few e-collar videos to prep for trying it on H. She and I went out at 11 to walk and work thru the positive reinforcement with the tone. As we were walking down the lane Britt and Cooper drove in, he jumped out with us while she went to feed the horses who were waiting at the yard gate.

The tone work went well as there was liver involved but when her and Coop headed off after a scent the no with a vibrate which moved to a shock had no affect. I did zap myself and it was a bit of a tingle but nothing to her. Back at the house I tested it on S and he could hardly feel anything either. He had come out to secure the tree stakes. B and I gave the horses dewormer and tested the vibrate mode which again was an epic fail. Back to the videos and online research later.

S jumped on the quad and ran the harrows around the last areas  needing it before putting them away till spring. It sure looks better. He headed inside for Sunday sports. B hung out with the horses rasping a few feet and taking chubby Roo for a walk. I looped the yard for dog poop then was going to load the corkboard in B's car but see it had an edge dinged probably to and from the market so that needed repairing. I then pulled out new projects to work on starting with the little magazine rack table. It was scrubbed thoroughly then the lifting veneer glued and clamped.

I put the painted echelons in the dresser, perfect.

and finally opened the paint package I picked up from the gate on that uber windy day

I had S come help me haul out the desk Kaylin had been using and got it scrubbed. I also had S removed the hardware so I could clean all then helped me move it back to dry area after I hand dried it all. Time to make supper of mushroom chicken and roasted veggies.

After we ate, S headed to TV room and I to computer to do todays blog but heard the cash register chime!! YEAH finally and Etsy sale, it has been 3 months since a sale there. So I got it and found a box it fit then gave it a fresh coat of wax. Shaina arrived home with one of her plants from Banff that was not fairing so well around 7:30 as I was doing this. She ate her share of supper then off to her suite. I made a Hometalk post for the oval coffee table from few months back. I have allot to catch up it seems.

Wicked winds

I held H off for breakfast till 9 today waiting for B dropped Cooper off after 9 on her way to her massage in the city. I got coffee brewing and back to play a few more brain games. S was up after his sleep in and served a coffee in bed, thanks. The dogs were in and out then a long while out which I went and found they had a deer spine sourced from somewhere they were happily devouring.

S let the cats out then spent the am watching videos and researching Shaina's code alerts as well as his truck back window not working. I put another coat of clear on the lazy susan after soaking horse feed. The forecast winds started to pick up before noon. It was up to plus 8 but soon dropped to -4 by mid afternoon.

I wrote a bowl tutorial for Hometalk, S was on her computer while Sheldon went to check his code results on her jeep. He then removed the stuck metal caster holder from the dresser and we inserted a new one after a few tries. He and I hauled it in and I brought in the drawers. The echelons needed to be scrubbed and left to dry.

We loaded up the dogs after 1 and headed off to town. Shaina followed us out of the yard heading to Banff. We grabbed a chai tea, a general deer tag, fueled up the truck and returned a few things at Walmart before heading home dropping bag of trash on the way.

It was tiny but delicious!

I painted the echelons black and installed them in the dresser drawers. S chatted with his brother Darren who is kindly saving deer ribs for H. He then chopped up the little cantaloupe I grew which he could not believe the taste of. I was staging the lazy susan after putting a 4th clear coat on earlier and as I took the plant off it smashed on the floor. Dam that was one of my favorite plant pots. I went and cleaned another and painted it the first coat of white.

Britt was out before 4, donned my insulated coveralls and got the horses fed and was off shortly after taking Cooper. S made guacamole and we had a beer and chips with it then he hit big brown for a nap. I got to work on computer stuff after feeding H an early supper. He did roust to head down for the 5 pm Flames game.

I took a break to jump in the shower then cook the last HF meal; kung pao style chicken salad. It was good but I am not a hoisin sauce fan and S gave it a 7/10. I worked on computer work until the Flames game was over then we caught up on the first 3 episodes of Yellowstone!!

Vaccine aches

It was another odd night of sleep, H wanted out at 3 am then to the garage then S up to pee at 6:30 which I always wake with any noise. I felt achy from the vaccine I think but managed to drift until Shaina was up at 7:45 to make tea and let H in who was hoping to eat.

She had to wait until 8:30 then with a glass of water and an Excedrin I was back in bed playing some brain games with very achy, slight fever which alternate to chills. Yep I think the vaccine is at work. S was up but moved to big brown to nap. After 10 he rousted and made coffee bringing me one. He did go let out the cats into the sunny buy 0 morning then back to big brown. While perusing Instagram I had a message from a good client requesting to buy the boho corkboard, yeah!!

The Excedrin seemed to be helping so I got up, got dressed and did marketing and blog posted. S was still in his Hugh Hefner housecoat as we ate lunch and watched the news. He then hit the couch for a short nap but once up after 2 he meandered outside to try and trouble shoot Shaina's jeep with his code reader. I put a couple coats of clear sealer on the lazy susan and brought in to stage a few pictures.

I decided seeing it was so sunny plus 6 and no wind I would go feed the horses for Britt. I also took the cats more raw food. Sheldon had took H for a walk but Shaina wanted to get some sunshine so she and I took her for another loop. S looped a couple of the paddocks with the harrows.

Back inside Shaina and I visited over a frosty kombucha in the golden sunshine. She was then off to her suite and actually took some cleaning supplies!! I was starting to feel chilly and achy so jumped in the tub to soak with Mrs Maisel. Sheldon jumped in after he was in from harrowing poop.

look at the moon coming up

I cooked up the 2nd HF meal; dry rub chicken. It was ok but too BBQ saucy for me, S loved his of course. Britt was out around 6:30 to leave Cooper and she and Shaina went to town at 7 for supper together. S headed to the TV room and I got to work creating an Etsy ad for the newest lazy susan.

Another lazy susan nearly completed

Seems to be a 4:30 am potty pattern for H that sometimes moves to 6:30 but she does hustle out and get it done and right back in and heads to the garage. I think the alternative might not be worth the wee bit of sleep deprivation LOL. I was awake at 8 when she scratched twice then was quiet till 8:30 breakfast time. I made some cappuccinos and got to work marketing after letting the cats out. The vintage bar set had more pictures and videos taken and the Etsy ad posted.

Then it was garage time where I touched up B's dresser and finished waxing the insides of all the drawers. The lazy susan had another coat of paint and all were left to dry coming in for lunch. Good news, Dad's cottage FINALLY has lifted the quarantine lockdown. Mom is visiting today and taking him out for a drive.

better pic of new cabinet

laying a dresser on its back shows missing areas like under the lower curved edge, I painted it and other areas

Kombucha was bottled blueberry flavor and a new batch brewed. Time to feed the horses seeing they were passing by from the east side to the west. Once fed H and I led them to the winter gate where I pulled baler twine out of the dirt piles and picked up some chip bags that blew in. Back at the barn I scooped up loose hay from the loft and feed room and hauled out to the horses who were now in for water. Biebs is getting close to the gang.

In the garage I stared work on the lazy susan painting stripes. I am not sure I am a fan by the end of it but left it to dry and came in to work on the blog. For supper I cooked up meal #1; sesame crusted barramundi. It was not a meal I would have ordered but it turned out to be very delicious. The sauce is so yummy. Shaina put the kitties away and was off to town to get groceries before 7 passing Britt coming in on her way out.

I was out working on the lazy susan adding color washes to tone down the contrast. B was surprised I had fed the horses so took the time to tidy the horse first aid box and her feed stations which was nice. She then gave me my shingles vaccine booster and was on her way. Again she left as Shaina arrived home shortly after 7:30. She unloaded her groceries and off to her suite. I had added dark wax to the tray followed by the magnolia transfer. It looks better but will look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow. Harley stayed in the garage. Sheldon is home early this round using up left over vacation hours. He was late getting home at 11:20 and into bed 5 minutes later.
