S makes a bison run

I woke at 5:30 expecting the robins but all was good, Harley slept inside and came in at 6:30. The      morning was gorgeous; sunny and no wind. I thought of running to let cats out but S says he was leaving early so thought he might. That and I wanted to go back to sleep which I did after putting H in garage. I woke at 8:30 as per usual feeding time and the prince was still sleeping. Rousted he made coffee and had some toast while I got H fed. The day however had turned windy ;(

S was off to Medicine Hat at 9:30. His plan is to pick up Papa and head to Acadia Valley to check out his bison herd then back to stay overnight in the Hat. I headed to the garage and worked on the corkboard. I was just finishing the stenciling when S called to say he forgot to let the cats out. I ran out as it was now 11:30 to give them some freedom then back to scrubbing the stencil clean and applying the transfers. Dark wax added the final touches and it was complete.

I loaded up Harley and ran to town at 2, we went and picked up Cooper first then to the grocery store. I am getting short on fresh ginger and out of milk but the line was wrapped around the store. It moved pretty fast as many were just getting a few things too. The next quick stop was the thrift store looking for a big jar. No luck on a jar but I found a bread box, magazine rack, cigar box and a cute wood caddy.

A quick drive thru Tims to grab an iced coffee for me and steeped tea for my roomie (sadly they dont give puppy treats) only to have a lady ahead pay for them, thanks lady! My last stop was the mail before arriving back at the ranch. It was a warm one hitting 22.

I grabbed the little table Kaylin brought as next project filling a wee ding then started to sand before I decided to give a deep scrub first. While I had all the stuff out I scrubbed the super dirty bread box and the caddy.

Cabbage rolls were taken out for supper so put them in to heat up. Britt arrived to pick up Cooper and feed the horses with her babysitting dog Kira: Dr Jordan's dog she has for the w/e. Harley was stocked as was Cooper to meet her, she not as much to meet them. I put the kitties away with some offal while she waited for Bird to eat. B had her 2 loaded up and headed for home before 7 as she has a dinner date.

Shaina and I enjoyed our cabbage rolls then she was back to computer work while I bottled and made a fresh double batch of kombucha. The bottled flavors were the usual; pom/ginger/lemon, grapefruit as well as a couple trial margarita mixes. Once they were all done and kitchen cleaned up she and I took H for a walk around 8:30. It was so blustery yet sunny and still 20, upside no bugs ;)

this stuff is awesome, contact Kaylin if you want to buy some

B had Dave drop her off before 10 to pick up the merc having dropped her car at the repair shop for tomorrow. She thought Switch seemed sore more suggesting bute. I mixed some up in a pail with pellets and took out to her as well as some foam pieces I cut and added to her boots. Poor girl, think combo of her recent trim and standing on the hard floor and traveling seemed to cause sore feet ;(. I crawled into bed before 11 to watch some Startup almost finishing season 2 listening to the wind howl.

Horses get acupuncture

Shaina was my wake up call today when she shut the door at 6 to make her cappuccino. I did drift back until Sheldon got up to pee and let H and cats out around 7:30. Britt arrived just before 8 to drop Cooper off for play date. I made a cappuccino too to drink after feeding H and the ferments. Today I need to bottle the jasmine tea kombucha so did it up as grapefruit X 4 bottles. I am all out of bottles for the big batch is ready tomorrow so off to the garage to start cleaning and soaking a dozen more green beer bottles. The cooler full of second fermented kombucha was put in the garage fridge.

The egg lady dropped off our eggs as I was boiling up the last I had on hand for lunch. I have ran out of room for my compost so headed out to bury it in the front beds along with all the kombucha scobies. Let see how the worms like them. Sheldon and I unloaded the furniture and he parked the truck/trailer out of the way to try and grade the road. I moved the red berried elder to its new spot after working up a new hole then it was back to pulling grass and working around the fruit trees. The road was too wet so S swapped to the bucket to load the wagons of poop and tree trimmings.

Look at the roots on this little guy

Lunch break for yummy egg sandwiches and hear the reopening plan. Shaina joined us too then back to work. The bottles that were soaked were now ran thru the dishwasher and half a dozen more put in to soak. Best to be prepared :) S hit the coach for a nap as did the pups while I caught up the blog. Water kefir was bottled ad the crystals put to rest for a few days. The day was overcast but the wind decided to pick up, yuck!

Project time; I had an idea in the shower last night so pulled it all together. I am going with gray and pink with the boho transfer and a harlequin stencil. Then it was on to the next step, paint it all gray and sand once dry. S took his "new to him" blower out to try blowing the barn side out. Says worked great!

Sheldon took out the watermelon rinds and caught Pepper around 3:30. The rest of course followed him back as well as the kitties and dogs, just like the pied piper. He then changed and filled the truck with diesel while I caught and loaded the ponies 1 by one. Roo however was worked up by KD who was remaining home alone so a bit of a challenge to catch but eventually I got her caught and loaded.

We were on the road by 4 and early as preferred to our 5 pm appointment at Moore's. Roo was first up getting her teeth done and acupuncture followed by Switch who was adjusted and had acupuncture.

Switch's needle video view

Bird who seems to be coming out of her shell like Cooper was next. She was very demonstrative in her pain but eventually was feeling better with her adjustment and acupuncture which hers gets the tens machine attached.

and Bird's needle view

Last but not least was Pepper. He too had chiro and then acupuncture and the tens machine. Dr Jordan does feel he is leaning towards Cushing's but was ok with our plan to start with herbs. She worked all his areas including a swollen throat latch. Wanting to scope it they tired to use a twitch seeing he hates things done in his nose and mouth but this turned into quite a drama display on his part. B even got after him a few times but no luck so will check next time he is in and sedated.

Three hours later we loaded them up and were on our way. It was 8 pm and feeling peckish we hit Tims/McDonalds on route home. I grabbed the food and S the beverages meeting back at the truck and eating as we made our way home in the hurricane winds.

Britt was at the ranch waiting with the food tubs ready. Harley came out to greet and let me know how hungry she was. After putting Switch's boots on seeing she was really sore after standing all that time I fed H and B and Coop headed home.

Shaina was making popcorn of course and tonight adding nutritional yeast that apparently makes it taste cheesy. We decided not so cheesy LOL I jumped in the shower then crawled into bed to watch some Startup. S showered and perused the net while Shaina was off to her apartment :0)

In town walk and horse trims

H slept inside after hanging with s to watch hockey but wanted out at 5:30 am! It was then off to the garage for her so I could sleep again till almost 8:30. The usual feeding of her and the ferments while S made his coffee. He donned his housecoat to let the kitties out after their 36+ hours indoors while I spent time online trying to sort a credit card points issues. We also tracked down a new tire finally for our wheelbarrow. It is a well used item that is always in use. Matt confirmed we had 33 mm or 1 1/4" of rain!

Shaina popped up for her cappuccino then off to work, I made one too skipping the coffee line. The cash register chime rang for my Etsy shop; the rose oil painting I took extra pictures for a gal for yesterday. I got it all package up to go while S took Harley for a walk. Like the kitties she is a bit house bound.

Lunch was turkey soup, perfect for the dreary overcast day. I also taste tested my fermented lemonade and it is yummy. For sure that will be a do over.

look at the bubbles.. and then after mixed

S had a nap after lunch while I did computer work then we loaded up Harley and headed to town before 3. First stop was to pick up furniture offered to me from a fellow painter who is moving. We had a visit after loading then on our way. Next stop was to pick up Cooper as Britt was sent to the race track and maybe working late. We wiggle our way to the doctors office downtown with the horse trailer going thru the old roads we used to travel daily from grande point. S was off to his appointment while I left the dogs in the truck and walked my Etsy parcel to the post office. Once back to the truck I took H for a half hour walk thru the streets. She was so intrigued by it all and did so well. However I keep forgetting when walking a dog in town one must have poop bags at the ready!! Thank goodness she made it till almost back to the truck and hit the middle of the street crossing.

Sheldon was just finished up so perfect timing. We stopped to grab an ice cap and dog treats, looped thru the dump to toss trash and back at the ranch before 5. Shaina was just leaving to go to the gym. The pups were off to play for a bit when a few drops of rain sent them in. I cooked up tacos for supper and S and I ate before his online appointment at 6.

Britt was here after 6:30 and chowed down some tacos then went to feed the horses. Shaina made it back for her tacos after 7 as I was pulling on coveralls to go trim Switch's feet. B had Roo in the arena to work a bit then did her feet too. We worked together to get them done, they were allot softer after the rain which was nice. Sheldon came out to trouble shoot Britt's clunking issue that is getting worse. He took the tire off thinking it might be something but turned out all seemed tight. This is job for a repair shop. Tire went back on and he to the house to catch the hockey game. B and I finished up, I put the kitties in for the night and the townies headed for home before 9.

Over and inch of rain

Again the robins did not hit the bedroom windows but I woke early anticipating and back to sleep till after 8. I headed right out to feed H and let her out after a very long night spent inside. It looks like today will be indoor day too as it is threatening then drizzly. Cap was next while making milk kefir and feeding ginger bug then onto computer work while H snored in her kennel.

The darn robins showed up again at the computer window but once see me fly off. Shaina was up to make her cap then off for check in day. I published the grey dresser tutorial and shared on multiple sites and emailed the sponsors. I put it on sale this w/e too with out any bites on any items ;(

Britt and Cooper arrived at noon to join us for a bowl of hot turkey soup. She also barred the elements and went and opened gates to all paddocks when there was a break in the rain timing it perfect as another bout of rain hit. She did go back out and feed the horses before heading home before 1:30. Shaina ate then back to her check ins.

I went to the garage to start a project. I chose Kaylin's cork board. It was wiped clean, primed, then holes filled then primed again. I hauled out a couple transfers to decide what to use and really not loving any. In the end I think boho might be the choice.

Part way thru Harley and I went out in the drizzle to plant peas I had been soaking as well as more spinach and kale that must have blown out. I checked the rain gauge but it seems the duct tape is not stopping a leak as still at 1/2". Shaina had left to go to the gym around 2:30.

I came in before 4 to update my spreadsheet and blog with a cold drink. Shaina was home before 4:30 made some guacamole. I cooked us chicken breasts too. She was then off to finish her check-ins and I computer work.

sadly 1 little succulent has died in my birthday planter

I took Harley to feed and water kitties as they had to stay in all day. The rain continued off and on, sure wish we had a reliable gauge. Best go buy one ;) Water kefir was made ; blueberry lemon ginger. It was then time for Netflix. I was watching when S rolled in before 11 hurriedly to watch the overtime hockey game. He ate while doing so only to see the last Canadian team lose in triple overtime ;(.
