Above zero kinda day

I opened the kennel door after 8 but again H relaxed for about 5 minutes or more while I got started on Monday's marketing. 

Another task I want to complete today is defrost and clean out the deep freeze. I started with removing all the freezer packs and posting on the free site. All the food in the freezer fit  now in the top of the fridge freezer except the pork box from Matt which I put outside in a safe spot. I threw a roast in the slow cooker for supper too while I was at it.

Shaina was up for her 10 am online yoga class. I took her a cup of coffee to keep her energized. I organized returns to take tomorrow to Airdrie along with the tote that sold last week. I finally got a chance to look at my good camera photos from the other day. They are so fun, these two have a blast.

I continued working on the freezer in bits as it melts. After a quick salad I convinced Shaina to join Harley and I on a walk as it was now plus 1 outside. We stopped to get J first and check on the kittens. Thirsty kitties had zero water so good thing I took a jug. We pulled more tufts of hay out of the slow feeder but I did notice Pepper was there for an hour or longer this am so think he might be getting the hang of it. Shaina even said she was getting hot walking and cut it short. Back at the house S went in to eat and do computer work. I boxed up the pile of ice packs I had and moved outside for a lady to pick up later. It was also a good time to pick poop quick before it all got soft.

Seeing it was so nice out I decided to run to town and grab a sheet of hardboard I need for my faux tin tile Etsy order. I gave H her Kong in kennel and off I went. A quick stop at the $ store was a bust then a drive thru deposit then to grab the hardboard. A friendly guy in the parking lot helped me load it as it is 8'X4' and kinda like a kite. Thanks Mr Stranger! I even managed to strap it down. A quick drive thru Tims to grab a tea for Shaina and I then southbound. I stopped at mail but was a waste of time there. I had called Shaina as I came thru gate to help me unload the board in the barn seeing all the saws are there, thanks dude!

Then it was back to the freezer for a bit more and onto computer work. The sun popped out at 3 and was now PLUS 4 and melting all over. I continued working on computer work before finishing up the freezer. Once it was all defrosted and dried out, I turned it on and brought in the pork and got it in. I will move the rest once it is good and cold and maybe after we bring Costco back tomorrow.

Veggies were prepped to roast to go with the actual roast then tossed in to cook. The lady taking the freezer packs arrived before 6 picking up my dog food parcel left at the gate. What a kind lady as she was older and there were 2 15 KG bags in the box! I loaded the parcel in while she bagged up the packs and was off.

Time to eat the scrumptious supper. Shaina had to take a client call before finishing. Britt and Cooper arrived before 7:30 to have a plate full of yum. We then headed out to treat Switch's foot while Bird ate her food. The pups played with the ball and watched the cats. Britt removed the poultice and found some smelly gunk but not sure of where it came from. Switch enjoyed her food while her foot soaked. B inspected it again then repoulticed and wrapped. I put her back in the pen, we hauled out a bale and took the stuff back to the garage.

I had taken Cooper's kennel down and helped B load in the car. Shaina was still on her call when we headed out but had now started her jeep and followed Britt out of the yard to go to the gym. I brought in the quilt I tried awhile back and put in the kennel. H was a big fan and snuggled right in and off to sleep while I worked on catching up on marketing and drawing my giveaway winner. I started a new Netflix series called The Queen's Gambit while doing so then moved to bed before 10 to keep watching. Shaina was home soon after and made popcorn for us. Sheldon was home after 10:30 to join in on some popcorn too.

Today I awoke after 8 and let H out but she took her time so things are looking up for a bit more sleep maybe. We did our usual routine and with my cappuccino  I was able to publish my antique navy accent table post I finished last night. Kaylin had asked if there really was a Flinstone park or if she dreamt it so I rustled up some photos and a few others in the book. How I love photos.

It was Amanda's 10th birthday that day too and later we had DQ treatza pizza

I had a goal today to scrub that big dresser I started awhile back. Mom had called and while chatting I removed all the hardware ready to scrub. I finished up scrubbing and rinsing of this 9 drawer beast at noon and came in. H spent the scrubbing time outside in -12 chewing on a bone she had found.

Slim pickings for lunch but another cappuccino helped. I was working on marketing when Britt arrived just before 1. She brought Bird in to feed and text Switch seemed worse. I bundled up and headed out to bring her into the barn. Britt gathered a bucket of hot water to soak her foot in after finding an area that seemed like an abscess may be under. Switch stood with foot in said bucket while I held her food tub and Britt made the duct tape boot. She applied the poultice, vet wrap, duct tape boot then light plast. 

I took her to the barn paddock where Britt stayed with her while I jumped on the quad. I chased Pepper back into the winter pasture, closed it up in hopes they will now concentrate on learning how to use the slow feeder then closed the middle paddock gate. Britt caught Bird to put in with her while I went and got a bale and tossed for the 2 girls.

It was now 2, we put Cooper and Harley each in a kennel with a Kong/treat and we were off. B wanted to hit a few stores in the city and invited me along. We went thru Langdon to get a tea and muffin (lunch) then hit up a few stores. It may be Covid season but people are out in droves. It was nuts. On our way home we again swung thru Langdon to pick up Chinese food I ordered as we left the city.

Back at the ranch just after 5:30 the dogs were off to chew on the bone H has been working on while B and I ate. Then the dogs were in for a bit before B and Coop headed home around 6:30. I did some marketing extending the giveaway as very few entered. It is frustrating to put so much work into it and social media limiting who sees it or maybe it is actually a  lack of interest. Everyone including family should enter as it is the numbers that Facebook sees and the engagement not the names.

Shaina was home just before 8, as I was filling the Kong and Qwizel. She heated up some Chinese food and got busy on her computer and I back to mine to work on the blog that has lapsed again. I shut it down after 9:30, H did not want to go out so I washed up and crawled into bed. Of course there was some screen time.

Super sunny snow play day

Another snow covered day underway by 7:30. We even have little drifts on the sidewalks. Marketing and caps and a Kong snack for the pup.

The horses came in for water after 10 and I noticed Switch was lame. I bundled up and H and I went out to check it out. Nothing was obvious but I picked out ice balls. Then it was off to the kittens to refill everyone's food dishes and water. Inside it was back to computer work with not allot to show as it is all photo organizing and writing.

Britt and Cooper were out before noon. She got food for Bird while I shoveled the walks. She watched kittens while I got the ranger out of the barn and once poky Bird was done eating we took the hay to the bale to put around it and pull more out seeing they had cleaned up the others. The dogs ran alongside on way there and Harley rode shot gun on the way back.

After putting the ranger away we came in for a hot bowl of chili. Shaina was updating her website, have you checked it out? A visit of sorts, a bit more nail trimming for the Harley dog then the townies were off after 1:30. Back to marketing for Shaina and I. She recorded a video for her website and in the end found the battery went dead ;( and the same thing happened after her second try.

B had suggested a coat for H seeing Greenhawk has them on for $20. It took us awhile to find her size and decide on colors but in the end she is getting these two and Cooper is getting 2 as well

I cooked up some spaghetti and she tried a couple ore times with a blunder then the 4th time was all good but the card filled just at the end. I am sure it will turn out fine :) She loaded up and was off to the city to stay the night with Emily before 7 as the sun was setting making for a crazy sky. I worked on my computer stuff finishing a tutorial I will post in the morning. I took Harley out at 9 for her evening bathroom break and tucked her in her kennel then headed to bed myself to catch some videos.

Stencil giveaway

Another day on the ranch but now we have a snow covering back and more lightly falling today. I spent a bit of the morning trying to get my dog food order to work finally. I had an Etsy sale for 6 tin tiles but this would need to be a custom order so sent an email to the customer to confirm. Exciting if so. Then it was a quick shower seeing H was napping. Shaina was not up till 11 but convinced her to go out for a walk in the cool air to help her headache and give H a chance to burn off some energy.

We walked to the slow feeder and found they ate the loose hay and the bits we pulled out but that was it. We pulled out some more hay sprigs then came back to the house. I first put J back in the shop then inside to work on tutorials. The latest blue nightstand was published and shared with sponsors and posted on a few places.

Our lunch was pretty simple with Shaina worked on her marketing and such. I got busy finishing a frame I had yet to decide on the center. I went with jute to hang photos. The jute was stapled, tied and glued on the back then 2 d rings screwed in. Photos were next then putting it in the totes place on Etsy. I forgot to share the tote sold yesterday but will not be picked up until next Friday at Britt's work.

Shaina headed to the gym at 4:30 as I was cooking up chili for supper. The snow is picking up the pace now. I had been working on my 5000 FB member stencil giveaway and finally finished it up. I was just sitting down to eat my chili after 6 when Shaina arrived back home to join me. After she was working on her stuff while I folded laundry and not one person had entered. It seems it was too complicated to look at my blog posts so after conferencing with my team (AKA Shaina, Amanda and Sharon) I decided to scrap that plan and go simple. I had to find all the photos and create a collage then rewrite the post to make it shorter, clearer and easy steps. There were 6 entries within a few minutes of it posting so I guess this was a better post. I hope you have entered.

Shaina mixed up a clay mask and put the remainder on me. Britt and Cooper arrived around 8, dogs went for a rip in the snow while B ate some chili then after a short while they headed back home around 8:30. I worked on getting the giveaway seen but it seems like allot of work that may not pay off. The tile customer replied she does want a custom order so now to fine tune all those details for tile style and colors. I took Harley out for a pee and to find her ball at 9:30 and many it is blustery and cold. I feel sorry for the horses. I hope they figure out the new slow feeder bag soon.

I chatted with Mom for about an hour which was a nice catch up then crawled into bed with more dog videos. YouTube has anything you want to learn about and can keep you learning new things every day.
