last Tuesday of June

Up at the crack of magpies... grrrr what terribly noisy pesty birds. They seem to think 6:30 is a great time to get in the dog pool and garden. They even woke the prince so he could make coffee. ;)

Once motivated S took the skid steer to the pit to rebury Hawk, it seems a naughty dog and or coyotes are digging in the pit. He also took the poop bucket down to start a real compost pile. I finished up the pepper grinder and got it and the spice rack staged up.

He then mowed the back lawn while I picked some weeds and herbs then started the huge frame project. He stopped for lunch as Britt and Cooper arrived after 12.  By 1:30 she had him loaded up and off to meet a lady (turns out she was from Acadia Valley) to sell jeans and take Cooper to his chiro appointment and talk about his xray results and surgery plans.

AS per usual I had to wait for Microsoft for 45 minutes to get the technician in regards to yesterday's issue then took over half hour for them to try another repair.

I finished the frame while S went and finished mowing the laneway and east grass areas and moved his water on trees. He was then in for his Tuesday nap soon after B got back.

She and I went out and caught Pepper to trim. It was beautiful warm sunny day but dark clouds loomed in the west. As we were finishing his last foot the temperature dropped and winds picked up sending us inside to finish. She then caught Roo and we did her fronts but as we did so the storm arrived. Of course it sounds worse in the tin building. S had woke and brought his new truck parts to the shop then loaded up recyclables in his truck before heading back in before the storm hit to catch the news.

I made us a yummy salad and shrimp supper then B had a nap ;) She was off to ride after her nap while I cleaned and S relaxed. Pretty busy Tuesday for this fellow. B was off for home after 8:30 as I posted the blue pieces on Etsy.

The wildlife sanctuary continues as I looked out to see 2 bucks in the winter pasture coming right up to the gate. They only booked it when the horses finally got brave enough as a herd to come towards them.

I made protein smoothies for a bedtime treat. As I was closing up marketing a message came for a sale of 2 faux tin tiles but only in silver?? hmmm there is only 1 shades of grey one, now what?

azure paint day

Awake before 8 and getting the day going with marketing and a cappuccino! Looks like a lovely day in store. Sunshine after our rains and no wind is indeed most welcome. And today is the start of diet break week!!!

However once I logged into my computer I found the email not working, after a 1 hour tech support with Microsoft they still could not fix it, grrr. I then moved on to half hour getting the girls new phones thru Bell but at least it was successful and much shorter.

I put clear wax and then black wax on the jewelry box. It is looking lovely. The noon news gave me a shock stating this is long w/e coming up WTH!! where did June go?

After a quick bite for lunch I went out to give Bird her gastro, water deck pots and put the soaker on front bed that missed most of the rain due to direction on the wind. I cleaned and sprayed the glass pieces for the jewelry box outside. In the garage I unclamped the now flattened chair edges, glued them and reclamped them.

I corresponded back and forth with a wall plank company to do a collaboration. I ended up choosing this style, what do you think? They will be used on the walls I stage furniture on.

The jewelry box now was able to have mirrors cleaned and photos snapped. Then I had to get it posted on Etsy .

A brief rain storm came down at 4 but did not last long.  I went to check and found 1/10th but it made it easier to pick a few weeds while I was out there.

Next it was on to the spice rack I scrubbed up the other day. It was painted 2 coats of my favorite fun azure.

Supper was followed by some yummy pumpkin cake Mom brought, two pieces actually since it is increased calorie week :) Seeing I had the azure out and it was nearly gone I scrubbed up a cute pepper mill and painted it too.

While it dried I did my workout, whew! Then out to feed the horses their probiotic and supplements. It looks like the probiotic is gone which is going to make this part of the day much easier as I wont have to get 2 horses out of the paddock and wrestle with Roo and her bucket trashing. It was a beautiful night! I decided I would spend more time weeding as on nights like this with golden sunshine, grazing horses, guarding dog and NO WIND or mosquitoes, I enjoy weeding.

I came in at 9 to whip up a protein smoothie which topped out my days 1725 calories! What a great day all around. I painted a second coat on the pepper grinder, it is so cute.  Time for a shower and couple more gardening episodes with the prince getting home just after 11.

Mom comes for a visit & rain

Cooper was up at 5:45, B put him in the garage with Lola but he was soon scratching so I let him back in and down to her room. Soon after she was up and let both Coop and Lola out at 6. Both of us managed to fall back asleep, she of course for much longer.

Rain drizzled down and actually rained for the morning. Cooper decided he would come in to warm up. I had my warm cappuccino working on marketing. B made one when se was up, seems her machine is not working and this is her fav drink so getting her fill while here. Mom was keeping a gal from Oyen company taking a course in town, B went in to pick her up after 9:30.

She came bearing gifts of farmer market food, parts ordered for S truck and some perennials form aunty Mindy, THANK YOU!! I had a pot of coffee ready for them and we spent the next 4 hours visiting with a fire to warm the house seeing S had disconnected the heat for A/C to work properly. I also made us a healthy smoothie brunch with homemade guacamole and chips too.

It rained off an on for most of the time but only accumulated 1/10. Around 2 the sun peeked out and after Paetz's stopped to pick up Mom for their turn to visit at 2:30 B and I went out. She fed the ponies while I planted up the flowers. It was so sunny and warm but dark clouds loomed from the west and rolled in about and hour later.

B and I hauled in her sofa table; she cleaned the glass and is leaving me to finish the dark wax. She loaded up Cooper and was off for home before 4. I put another coat of clear on the ruler along with the marketing stickers and this beauty is ready to go.

I made a cappuccino and wrote up this blog post. Then time for another project; the jewelry box was painted a coat of red.

The jewelry box had a 2nd coat and I dark waxed the sofa table for Britt.

I looked out the window and saw this. Only her (ok maybe Roo) could end up like this so out I went to get it back in place.

Another episode of Big Dreams Small Spaces. I am getting too many gardening ideas from these but some good tips too; more mulch will be the plan this week.

The day started out blustery and overcast, perfect day to do some marketing and projects in the garage. While enjoying my first cappuccino I wrote a tutorial for the bedroom suite. I ran out to give Bird her gastro and fertilized all my plants just in case it rained again.

On my way thru the garage, I scrubbed up an antique chair ordered and clamped it all down and left to dry.

Back inside it was now noon so I had my second coffee with my lunch.

Britt and Cooper arrived after 1, time to get busy on her sofa table. I got to work finishing the dresser measuring, cutting and installing drawer liner and the knobs.

AS I was hauling each finished drawer in, I ended up kicking over the tin of paint had sitting on the floor.. dam it!

Quickly I scooped most of it back up and scrubbed the floor, my hands, the can etc and moved it to the table ;)

She helped me haul the dresser part in after her coat was on then she ran to town and I staged it quick.

She returned with Dairy Queen summer berry cheesecake blizzards. They were so many calories but so worth it, THANKS B!!

PS I DO NOT like the Ellie at the top, I suggested putting between the 5-6 like the birthdate at bottom but the grandma was specific I needed it at the top. I does make my eye twitch  but the customer is always right ;)

Now it was time to make us some supper then go out to work with the horses. The sun had come out around lunch and the wind dropped at supper making for a gorgeous night. The 7/10ths rain total yesterday however made for some hungry mosquitoes. I helped Britt make her first ride on Roo then she and I went for a really nice ride. Mostly at a trot to keep the bugs at bay.

 

We came in after rugging them up and putting out and enjoyed a decaf cap. At 9:30 we headed out to work on projects. Britt clear waxed and started dark waxing her table while I tidied and worked on jewelry box repairs. We closed up shop at 11 calling it a successful day!
