birthday celebration

Poor B, her string of unfortunate events continues when she called to say she lost her iPhone at the birthday party last night ;( She is sad but most upset with not backing up her photos since 3 weeks ago.. reminder, back up things you don't want to lose.. often.

Kaylin was required to get up to clean up a couple dog messes on the basement carpet, she then headed to town for brunch with friends. Shaina arrived just before She was back home by 11.

not sure how the birthday girl ended up pampering the princess but she did, nice of you B!

Grama, Papa and Auntie Candace arrived around 2 having to take a detour with a STARS on site accident just south of us. Mom and Travis made it about 2:30 coming from snow country, but nothing here but a bit of drizzle. Nice visits rounded out the afternoon.

 We ate and had birthday pie before Kaylin had to head back to the city around 5

Paetz's arrived around 6:30 just in time to help clean up food before putting away and get in on the pie too!

Most started to head home in the mist at 8 with Paetz's and Shaina last to leave at 8:30, thanks for coming to celebrate our birthdays everyone!

Thanks to Grama and Papa for couriering the aurora table back to the Hat for Trish to pick up!

misty day

At 8 when I awoke there was a gentle sound of rain.. it was not much but it was rain.. and this misty cool weather continued all day. Coffee in bed started the day.

I worked on organizing the new furniture finds in the garage and sorting my paint. I am perplexed as to the colors to paint the nest tables.. black, navy, grey or teal, cream, brown or brown, black, blue or green/blue, cream & brown?? such hard decisions..the dogs spent the drizzly day inside the garage.

Sheldon took a brief run out in the cool 4 degrees tossing the horses a bale, notching some hole then cutting the last floor mats for the standing stalls and rearranging. It did hit a high of 9. Back inside I helped him hang a shelf Papa made me in our toilet cubicle and he hit the couch. I put some of my trinkets out but need to find more.

I had a customer contact me last night to paint her grandma's coffee and end table set in my southwestern style and today they dropped them off at 3. While here they looked at and bought the file cabinet. ;)

I finally decided on colors and started painting the largest of the nesting trio going with teal. Britt wanted to leave by 6:30 so I came in at 5 to start supper. Roasted veggies, a rice mix  and roasted fish were on the menu. She was picked up by Jason tight around 6:30 and was off to her big night.

I headed back to the garage to paint a 2nd coat of teal then start the other 2 with the pretty aurora color and a dark roast brown. Sheldon spent the day napping and watching hockey. Britt messaged once at the hotel that they got upgraded to a suite for her birthday, it had a hot tub in the middle of the room, too bad no one took suits!

Friday morning I was up early but the crappy feeling from later last night remains. It seems the detox of my body is actually happening but sadly it cancelled my birthday lunch. Sheldon was off to work on "casual" Friday and Britt was off to town by 9:30 for a spray tan. She was back home by 10 sloughing around for the day to let it absorb before her 3 pm work shift. The spray fellows had the field done and were off by 9 am.

Britt did fit in feeding bird in the much cooler overcast 16 degree day. I did my Creative Moments hand painted sign giveaway with my good friend Coreena the winner, yeah!

I started to feel better as B was off to her shift for 3, Dr Tim confirmed most likely detox symproms. Sheldon got off early on casual Friday an hour earlier. He did grab a parcel at the courier for me too, another can of paint.

Shaina arrived around 5:30 and she and I caught Hawk and Baby. Tonight she had me video a few different rides on Baby to have to share with potential buyers, By a few times, I mean cause I may have not swapped to video and was taking stills for a few rounds but in the end we got some good footage. We were finishing up when Rachel arrived around 7, about 1/2 hour later Shannon arrived and they headed off to a candle light vigil for a good friend who was killed by a drunk driver 3 nights ago. So sad ;(

Britt arrived home just before they were left. Sheldon had taken the garburator and sink pipes off while we were riding to try and solve the sewer smell issue. He put it back together as I cooked up supper for us. Shaina had my steak from last night when she got back from the vigil. She visited for a bit then headed back to the city around 9:30. Sheldon fell asleep watching hockey while I soaked in the tub and B watched Netflix and pre-hydrated for her big birthday night out tomorrow.

Today is my birthday, I got my first call from Mom and Dad at 7:55 as they reminisced about a few years back being a major snow storm on the day of my birth. Today hit 23! My morning started with a sweet note on a fully loaded coffee pot ready to roll and was full of texts, FB messages and another call from Deb on her way to class. I did get out the door by 10:30 and started off on my busy day. A quick stop had to be made at the church rummage sale. Luckily the rush had passed and I was able to go thru quick, grab 2 big frames and get out. I stopped quick at Amanda's to leave said frames rather then haul along. I was also lucky enough to get 2 more big BDay hugs, thanks A&A.. and B&S earlier ;)

I was now on the road to Calgary for my naturopath appointment with Dr Tim at 12. Lori K kept me company calling me enroute with bday wishes ;) I made my appointment with time to spare. I did however only have 3 cups of coffee so far so Dr Tim ran to a nearby gas station and bought me a powerbar for my "lunch" while the hour long chelation IV dripped. Thanks Tim!

Once I got my supplements and bill paid I was off up the hill to Market Mall to meet my gorgeous daughter Kaylin who took me for a Starbucks chai on her break and a quick visit, Thank you! My beautiful Shaina popped over to the mall and took me out for lunch, gave me a sweet gift and another great visit. Thank you! Plus I scored a couple more great hugs while there too ;)

By the time we finished up it was 4 pm and time to meet Sheldon at north hill mall where I was to pick up a dresser (hence why I brought the big truck to the city) I did make a quick stop at planet organic on the way and was still on time set. However the lady was behind so Sheldon and I sat and waited for 45 minutes ;( We did get him an otter case for his new iphone 6! The dresser was a challenge to move out of the apartment but we did it, whew.

I was full from such a late lunch so we headed to Costco to do returns and a refill then stopped by Bootlegger pub where Shaina was working her 2nd last shift.

Our last stop was Strathmore Station for a late supper meeting the pretty Britty. However in the end this turned out to be not the best idea as a 8:30 steak is not so good on the tummy. I could not even eat but took in a doggy bag along with my bday cheesecake, Back at the ranch it was a chaotic unload, park the truck in the barn just in case it rains and avoid having to unload the heavy dresser and finally hit the sheets.. what a busy birthday day.
