prince returns

The morning started with chinook winds again but died down after lunch but it was again overcast which makes me excited for sun. I put a 4th coat of hand rubbed poly on table tops and tidied up my work space for my vacation to Cayo Santa Maria. I have never booked a trip to leave in 36 hours, this should be a test to my organization.

I was packing off and on thru the morning.. what will I forget? It seems my jaw is not cooperating and may have an infection so off to town I ran for antibiotics, more sunscreen, grab a few groceries, horse feed, mail etc then back to the ranch. I also tried the A&W mozza mushroom burger for late lunch as I ran errands and YUMMY!!

The sun finally peeked out on my way home and a lovely plus 8 however not long and the chinook winds started blowing again. It seems there is snow in the city by 6 pm but still +7 here. Sheldon has landed but has to grab his suitcase he loaned out and get home and pack it! He made it safely home by 7:30 to enjoy my wild salmon and rice supper then got busy packing.

Rain started just before he got home and by 8:30 the temperature dropped to 2 and sleety snow started. Good time to get out of dodge but may have to leave earlier for airport too.

short order Monday

Projects continued over coffee this Monday morning. First order was a coat of hand rubbed poly on the table tops. The rocking chair got a 2nd coat of pink then sealer. A gal stopped out to pick up the rustic coffee table I decided not to do and stayed for a chatty visit sharing her painter tips ;)

Sheldon messaged that the 6" of snow up north had him yearning for sunshine. Pretty sure that was my first choice but he was saying then no then to any 3rd world countries and the US $ sucked so no Hawaii, Montreal it was hahaha. This however put me into panic mode trying to research where, flight times and hotels but by late afternoon I had it nailed.. Cuba.

The neighbor stopped over to purchase the red lazy susan and kindly brought an antique bed frame for me too, thanks Elaine!! Supper... cereal.. that will be the best part of the vacation, my turn to have a chef like Sheldon and Brittany ;)

The small shelf got a coat of paint, distressed and wax, another hand rubbed poly coat on table tops and the rocking chair another sealer after I did some dreaded garage sweeping. Dog shedding is such a pain.

It was now time to get packing, good thing I had not started packing warm clothes for Montreal.. it was summer clothes for the beach now. Went worth kept me company, I am just about finished season 3!

Diego slept till 9:30 hallelujah! Overcast cool day so off to the garage to sand the top of the big coffee table. Both are now ready for the java stain which was the next step and then the bases and drawers got a coat of cream paint.

Lexi did well in surgery and was back home late afternoon cuddling with Kaylin after her day at work. Speedy recovery Lex. I ended my night with more chill & Netlix! ;)

Sunday started early after a text from Amanda who was off on her vacation at 7, I could not sleep so made coffee and perused the net. Our HVAC guy dropped off a steak knife set around 8:30, it was a brisk -2 frost covered morning but at least sunny! Back to work the the table set. Today another coat of paint, when dry there was distressing then I waxed the bases and hand rubbed poly into the tops.

as I was putting back together I also lined the drawers.. sometimes I pay too much for pieces described in much better condition then they actually are, many of those times I never check the inside of drawers either believing their claims but usually every piece has issues including grungy drawers ;(

Yesterday was over cast with a high of 4, today another chinook wind blew in hitting 14.. such crazy weather living in the foothills area.

I forgot to share this cool table leg I bought from my picker, so wish there was two but going to get creative with 1 it seems.

As promised I am continuing to paint stock in the garage so the Prince can fit his truck in. Next in line is a child's rocking chair which got scrubbed and painted pale pink before I moved on to scrub up the kids table and a chunky shelf. I posted a survey for color to paint the kids table set and in an hour it got 649 hits!

5 hours later over 1200 had seen it.. what is your vote?

Friday the 13th

The wind started howling again last night and blew hard all day. It was however turned to a warm chinook wind hitting plus 13 so all snow is now gone. I waxed, buffed and staged Auntie Mindy's chair and bookcase all ready to roll to the man cave!

How about a customer appreciation sale? that was what I set up for my Creative Moments page. Time to make some more room and get busy in the garage. An oak end table got a good sanding, this set I think I will do for the movie room as I like the style but will depend on the colors when I am done.

I left folding laundry until Ellen time of course, it is the end of Bieber week and none of the girls have TV. I had to watch for them it seems ;) I braved the wind to feed the vats and open the back side of the round pen so the lawnmowers could clean it all up too, wow it was crazy strong.

By 5 it died down and temperature dropped as the chinook left. Sad news in Paris today with terrorist bombings. Prayers to all those lost and their families.  Glad Lexi's knee surgery went well, prayers for that little rascal to heal up fast too.

I spent an hour scrubbing up the large coffee table as well as the end table and a rustic one too. I had plans to convert it into a trophy buckle table for dad but glass is not in the best shape nor is it.

Then had to catch up on 4 episodes of Nashville and 2 Wentworth to round out my Friday the 13th night!
