City day

Wednesday we were all up and running early. Sheldon even rolled out a bale quick as still chilly and easier to get in the field with less trouble. He and I headed out of the yard just after 8:30 with a tire track trail leading and the rest of the ranch covered in couple inches of snow.

We were early to his appointment. as I predicted knowing driving times just a bit more accurate to parts of the city, did I mention I was right ;) I dropped him off and seeing the mall was not even open I hit a local goodwill store. This was the start of my successful thrift day scores. The night stand I got even was on a 50% off sale!
Back to the mall, I met Sheldon and we headed to Sephora to meet Kaylin. She was Director in charge for the day so had to have a quick break visiting over a Teavana tea order. Soon we were off, stopping at another couple thrift store scores then tried a new place to eat for me. Cravings Market was the stop after Sheldon went a few years  back when on a course. It was good and unique concept.

Love the details on these!

my scores!! yahoo
Now it was time to grab my first can of Annie Sloan chalk paint as a color I like was the month special. Costco had a few, ok allot of items we needed to restock but as we were heading east we passed car dealers along luxury row. Sheldon had mentioned awhile back perhaps it was time to sell the Buick while still of value and get a replacement. Since we are here lets drive thru the lots was the impulse plan. The very last lot I saw  nice silver car (it was an Audi) being pulled into a spot so asked the attendant to have a quick peek. The next couple hours got sucked into salesman time as well as a visit with "Auntie" Rhonda who is Mercedes long time employee. We narrowed it down to the Audi Q7, Infiniti QX60 and the Mercedes Benz ML350 heading home to ponder and research.

As we pulled in at 7 pm we were shocked to see the snow was all gone! What a difference a day makes, holy. Time to unload the groceries and share the info with Britt the car queen when she got home a bit later from work.

update for those who asked about my eye lash extensions.. this is over a month later and a few remain, the right eye has a dramatic outer corner sweep, if only left eye retained the same and not 3 throughout! There was no breakage to my existing lashes, overall I am happy and will do for another vacation.

Prince returns

Woke up and yep the snow is still here, darn it but they say plus 14 coming for the w/e so should soak in and water the grass and hay (or what is left). Wax up the growth ruler and decide on colors for kitchen projects, what is your kitchen accent color?
I went with Yellow on the 2 I scrubbed up and I scrubbed 2 more doing them the same pretty soft yellow. Hope they are a hit at the sale.

Because the Prince arrives home today I also headed out to shovel the tons of snow from the walks and deck. It was a balmy plus 1 out but was not bad really as NO wind.

My projects continued throughout the day, I am on a roll!
A couple more I got scrubbed and ready to transform, I am going with coral on cheese cloche and dish
not sure about this cute metal holder
Sheldon got home around 6 for supper after his first week away. Britt was home late after working.
bedtime. ah the life of a dog!

SNOW day

Monday.. overcast and -5, WHAT? Britt was off to school as I cooked eggs and a fresh brewed crazy coffee for miss Shaina who was off to work at the Roadhouse for 10. She has one more shift Sunday and that it is for that job, I will be sad not to see her for her sleepover visits.
my windows dropped off the other day, what shall I do with these beauties? I brought in the drawers and put hardware back on before staging. It turned out lovely, do you agree?

It started to snow as Brittany, Grady and Caleb arrived around 11 for there very long spare lunch Mondays. I even joined them for a pool game but was soon back to painting a 2nd coat on Sharon's potato bin. The snow continued to come down. High only reached -1 and an accident outside S'more shut down the #1 for a bit. Why did I wear my flip flops so early and jinx it, dang it! But moisture is needed so wont complain.  Once paint was dry the bin got waxed and left to dry yet again.

While it snowed I hand painted the growth ruler then buffed up the potato bin and snapped some pictures to post on my page. When Britt got home after school and working out, the snow subsided leaving us with a couple inches! I made a tuna casserole hoping to warm us up for supper. After supper I scrubbed up paint supplies and 2 more projects for tomorrow! and updated you all on the blog here.

Sunny but a chill in the air

Sunny Sunday but brisk -3 to start the day. I forgot to mention Shaina text she got a job in the city, YAHOO!!! It is at Molly Malone's, an Irish pub, in Kensington

My day was busy working on the many projects, the dresser was finished up with another coat of poly over it all as was the chalkboard along with the jewel box which got reassembled and staged for a few pictures.

Sharon's little spice rack got its spa day. It is going to look cute which old looking or chalkboard labels on the little glass jars.
And the potato bin got started on as well after scrubbing up early and now dry. Trying to decide what to leave natural wood but this is what she chose

see how the dark wax dramatically changed wood and paint colors?

below the top has not had dark wax on the natural wood but drawer has

nap time with one on guard

I took the dogs - and 2 cats for a walk in the sunny but brisk (+4) day and took along my good camera to capture a few pics.

Pepper would stand on his head for new grass, wait he almost is!

Britt was off to work for 10 and home after taking in a hockey game after work. She arrived home just before Shaina made it out. She and I had just caught the 3 horses as Shaina drove in. We groomed then rode the ponies on a conditioning pace ride before coming in to a hot chicken/rice casserole I put in earlier, yum!
since they were sweaty and it was cool, they got a dust bath, should have got the after pics too
Later on Shaina ran Britt to town to workout and grabbed me a tea on their way back, thanks! Before going to bed, Shaina helped me haul the dresser body in the house for tomorrow's pick up, thanks sweets. She is staying the night to work in town in the morning.
