1047 - back in the saddle again

Day 1047 we awoke to PLUS 3!!!! on the downside there was a chinook wind. Mom and I had a coffee before the girls joined and grabbed a piece of toast. It was then time to catch horses and get on the road to first polox practice of the year.

Practice was fun and eventful, the horses had lots of spunk. The warm weather and first group gathering does that though. After loading up we were back home around 1, fed them, made lunch showered and Britt and I were off to town to help Paetz's move around 3.
I bought these off a neighbor of Auntie Mindy, Mom brought up, now to paint!

On the way I grabbed a bidding item I scored, this cute mirror
We moved and scrubbed and organized, had pizza and a beer.

A visit and play time followed before I dropped Britt at another birthday party at 8. I came home and applied the wallpaper to the bookcase back.

Mom and Travis arrived at 9:30 so again it was happy hour and visiting remembering the time goes ahead an hour tonight. This meant Britt got home later than she actually did.

1046 - Britt's car breaks down

Day 1046 was an early day, poor Shaina was up at 6 am to get more tylenol then I was up at 7. Sure gives you an early start to the day. I made coffee and checked bids and sales. As I was in the kitchen I heard Diego whimpering. I went out and his back right leg was sprawled out sideways and he could not get up. Clearly the angle was causing pain so after a couple attempts finally grabbing under the belly and heaving I got him up and he was on his way out. It was like lifting a 175 pound drunk man!
Time to snap a picture of the candlesticks, I changed my mind about dark wax too and will see if this is a look people want.
customer wanted to choose wallpaper color.. she chose....... red!

Kyra left 1030 and Britt followed heading to her house to make a birthday cake for a surprise party this w/e however soon Britt called in a panic having her car quit her just before the traffic lights in town. After a few calls to Sheldon and her we had a plan in action. Shaina left for work soon after and as she stopped to apprise the situation she found Britt had a capable young man pushing her car to the nearby parking lot. Seems he also went and fetched her a jerry can of gas to see if it was the issue but no luck. Car repair guys were called into fix it while Kyra picked Britt up and off to bake the cake they went.
Back at the ranch, a lady stopped for mirror then another for comics.
I worked on a custom paint job on a bookshelf I recently bought. The same gal who bought the red love sign and mirror consigned it as well so time to scrub thoroughly and put on 2 coats of red paint.
how do you paint with a fuzzy cat like this one who likes to sleep in your projects!
While it dried I waxed the lazy susan then hand painting some cute graphics on it.
I also sanded down the tops of 2 wooden stools readying for a new makeover. what color for the base??
Since she has no car and Kyra dropped Britt at work at 3 I ran to town to pick her up at 7. I grabbed supper at A&W before but she was not quite ready, needing to tan after she closed so I spent 15 minutes on the jiggle machine waiting. Have you tried this?

Once she was finished and all locked up we were off grabbing Tims, dropping one off with Shaina who was at her 2nd job of the day, Target. 11-4 at the Roadhouse, a steak and deep fried pickle supper there then off to Target 5-9. Busy girl she is.. but she has a bank account to match!
We scooted home where we heated our burgers and B went to TV room. I got busy glazing the bookcase and lazy susan too. It needs a good day or more to dry before waxing and I want to send back to Oyen with Mom. Her and Travis on on their way here to help with the Paetz move their w/e and bunking here. They are making a stop in Drumheller to pick up some treasure from cousin Lyle.
They arrived at 10:30, unloaded furniture and had a drink and visit and off to bed by midnight :-)

1045 - trip to town :-)

Day 1045 still no warmer at -16 but there is hope, they say a chinook rolling in this weekend. It was grey and lightly snowing Todays projects were underway early waxing the red table and mirror then staging the mirror for a few pictures.

Putting the final wax on the white jewel box too. Next I start to glaze a candlestick but did not like it so repainted it white and distressed again. I packaged up items for pickup.

Shaina was up making us scrambled eggs and having a coffee before she headed to town to work at 11 dropping Coco at the groomers on her way. A gal stopped out to pickup 4 free SS water bottles.
forgot to post before photo yesterday so here it is
I was off to town at 1 stopping to tan, dropping off a couple more bags of goodies for people in Dominican Republic a friend is taking over, pickup a new purchase, dropping off some sold items, getting a tea (and my 2nd roll up win ok only a donut but a win) grabbing groceries then finally getting to see the new Paetz home! This and picking up the newly trimmed Coco and the mail and home before 3!
Shaina was home from her day of serving folks at 5 and promptly had a nap while I cooked tacos for supper. Britt joined us as we were finishing at 6:30 after hanging out in town after school. Seems she won a raffle on a field trip today winning a go mug, golf shirt

They both headed to town after supper to go to the gym then Shaina is off to wing night and stay over at Jenna's while Britt will get a ride home with Kyra who will have sleepover here. No School tomorrow! I white washed a large lazy susan and surfed the net.

Surprisingly Shaina was home before 10 with a headache :-( Britt and Kyra hung out in town for a bit too getting home around 11.

1044 - more painted projects

Day 1044 bright sunny and -18! After Britt was of to school I staged the now dry red and black accent table.

 and the jewel box
and the table with the chalk board
Shaina text to wish her luck at first day of university, seems she attended Sociology of family class with Shannon but don't think it was a hit! I then headed to the shop where I sanded a pine shelf and DID not take a before which I should of. It had terrible black and rust stains and now looks near new. I just don't know if it will sell after putting more work into it. My original plans are to paint and put wallpaper backing on it, what you think?
A customer who bought the love sign ordered a red mirror so time to paint 2 coats, wax and glaze it.

Another customer chose a color for the jewel box I posted so it was a white painting afternoon on it.

In between stages I painted another blackboard frame peacock, distressed and waxed 2 coats, staged and posted. The sun did not last long and eventually light snow began in late afternoon (-14). It was short lived, I took minerals out to the horses who always love a refill.

A quick late supper and it was finishing last of buffing and waxing the white jewel box, will put together and stage tomorrow. I also started some candle holders finishing first coat of white when Britt arrived home from work after school at 9.

here are the pieces Gail dropped off last night
