S flies north & Mom is staying

Coffee started the day yet again with the morning mission for S to bolt on his new box grader runners then move horse trailer to grade it and put both trailers on the spot. I helped him with a bit of guidance after taking Roo's mask off, did a yard loop poop scoop then back to laundry and house things. I made a yummy salad for lunch then we hit the hot tub. The warm day was overcast and now the wind was blowing like crazy again. We did have a good long hour soak in it though getting out after 2. I made us a smoothie to enjoy after our showers.

S was off to the airport just after 3 having a later flight today. I felt so tired I laid down and actually had a light drift off. Then it was time to get caught up on things. My computer work is so far behind including the blog so worked on that while keeping the laundry going and plants watered and a box full brought up to take to Shaina tomorrow. Mom stopped out at 5 with a chai tea, THANKS and a quick visit before she headed back to visit dad after 6. I put burger on to make chili for a late supper.

Kombucha was made and bottled up as B arrived after 7:30 to feed and ride in the golden hour. She stopped in for a quick hello before heading home as Mom was back after 8. Mom and I visited for a bit then I went to put cats away for the night, walk dogs and tuck into bed and then we both were off to bed. I watched some Netflix before lights out of course.

Another day at the ranch that turned into a busy hustle of a day. After a couple coffees I headed out to take off Roo’s mask and S went to grade the yard road. We then checked out our new trailer and spot it over by the trees until we could move horse trailer.

S went to the neighbors again to help grade their yard and have a beer. I painted a second coat of black on Shaina’s desk. S was back after 1 for some leftover lunch. We ran to town with S dropping me at my lash appointment at 3 then he ran back into town to buy new box grader runners he had wore thru. He was back to pick me up at 4 then it was stops at 3 places to find the bolts and a fuel up for Sadie before we headed home.

We loaded the table, S jumped in the shower as I fed H and made us a quick drink before he headed to the city. Today S is going to his first playoff game is very excited. I dropped him at the done at 6:30 where he was off to meet the fellow taking him for a prime rib supper before hand. I headed to chinook mall where I caught up the blog for yesterday on my iPad before heading in. I did a quick check for new perfume when Shaina text she had arrived. I went back to the car to move the table into her jeep then we came back in to the movie theater.

She bought our tickets while I got popcorn (my supper) and a caramel Frappuccino. We then found our seats in Fantastic Beasts; Secrets of Dumbledore. It was a long 2 1/2 hour movie ending at 10:30 and just a so so movie. She was off as I made my way north to the saddle dome, This was a crazy sea of red with the 1-0 win. S had a great time. The parking is all messed up and it took half hour plus to get out of the area. We made it back home just before midnight. He headed out for a soak in the hot tub but due to humidity and fresh lashes I passed and crawled into bed to watch QOTS.

We bought a trailer

After our usual start to the day the accountant sent numbers so I could pay my taxes With the truck full of fuel and H loaded up we headed to town after our morning hot tub. Stopping at the bank to get the trailer draft and we headed off to the west at 11:11. A stop was made in Airdrie at the registry to pay to see if indeed there was a lien on the trailer then we headed north.

Being ahead of time which was sort of a plan we called to eve if Benbow’s were home. We stopped there for a couple hours catch up in the sun giving H a nice stretch too. We loaded her up and headed onward to the trailer venue arriving right on schedule at 4. The trailer was IMMACULATE and beyond what we hoped for. This couple is extreme OCD and even having a hairy Bernese mountain dog not one iota of hair. hey had laid mats and blankets once her had a 40 minute brush outside before coming in and not being allowed on carpet or the stairs. They had plastic clear rug cover over the lower carpet, bumper guards around chairs, anything that rubbed including the microwave glass tray and the stove. Get this. They have never taken a number 2 in the trailer!!! They had parked it at parents cabin and used their facilities but did shower and the wife occasionally take a pee with it dripping out into a gravel created area.

They had finagled extra shelves and most were lined with shelf liner, a pressurized tank was installed and plastic checker plate in the storage area.  They have pool noodles cut to the exact length that is needed for the slides to go out to pre arrange space. His garage was immaculate as well and having forgotten a license plate and finding out he was a cop had him borrowing us a plate for the drive home. This was the BEST deal in Alberta.

We left at 5:30 with our new trailer stopping to eat some supper finally at a nearby hotel. I fed H in the backseat who has been such a great travelling girl then we had a chicken wings and salad/ clubhouse quick. It was now 6:30 and after letting her out to stretch and pee we were off to the next stop an hour back in Lacombe to visit Deb Stebner who we have not seen for years. It was a fun 2 hour catch up then we were on the road again.

We arrived back at the ranch just after midnight with the new sleep chambers. Parked and H did her thing and we hit the hot tub. It was then sports for S as I showered. Lights did not go out until after 2!! What a long but very busy fun day!

May 1, WTH

It is May 1, wow time is flying fast. Another usual morning with coffee, H fed and relaxing in bed coming up with a day plan. B wanted to trail ride so planned for it this afternoon followed by a hot dog campfire. Shaina is going to join us. The day started off sunny with S cleaning the tub filters. Soon it clouded over and wind picked up with our plans now in question.

S started painting his one bison head while I sorted bottles, unboxed the paint parcel from a few days back and tidied the garage coaching his painting. I made us a delicious salad for lunch and were were finishing up when Britt arrived with her lunch. We decided to not haul anywhere to ride and maybe would here later. She went to do more poop cleanup. Yesterday she filled a wheelbarrow from the paddocks, YEAH!! It looks so much better and greening up fast.

Shaina arrived at 1:45 to find the ride cancelled but there was lots to do. S hauled the wheelbarrow of poop to the pit while I hooked up the quad and wagon for her. Shaina and I then started to unload the cargo trailer of gym items and chairs. S after filling truck with fuel helped us carry a couple of Kaylin's bigger pieces she wants to keep into the storage trailer then backed trailer to garage where we unloaded the dining table, the small dining table Shaina had in Banff for a desk and Kaylin's hutch she no longer needs. Then the cargo trailer was blown out and parked in the usual spot.

B braved the winds rode Roo then caught Bird and took her in the big field. S moved gravel to spots around the house that needed them. Shaina got to work on her computer after wiping down the "desk" table and I gave it a scuff sanding and rewipe. Time for a beer with S on the deck but it was blustery.

He and I headed to the garage where he painted a second coat on his bison head and I painted a black coat on Shaina's desk.

We had a hot tub coming in after 7 as Shaina was off to the gym. After the tub, S painted the other bison skull with me delivering a rum and coke and sanded smooth the desk table's first coat. Shaina was back by 9 as we were watching some Ozark. I started to drift so we shut off only to wake up for a couple hours ;(
