Card night

Sleep is not my friend I awoke at 6:30 and laid awake until S got up to pee at 8 and then I went and rousted H from the garage at 8:30, WTH ;) I fed her and S made coffee then he started a fire. It is a cool -7 overcast day. I watered all the plants as the fire crackled then worked on ads to try and sell the desk. S went out after 10 to let cats out, toss the ball for H a bit, hook up power to his deck decor then took her for walk.

Back inside he helped me carry the desk downstairs to a spot I had cleared then warmed up by the fire. Snow started to softly fall making for a super pretty winter day. Bacon was put in for sandwiches for lunch. Avocado and tomato were added (onion for S too) and enjoyed before S was off to the couch for a nap and I marketing.

Britt and Cooper were out after 1:30, she was off to feed the horses with the dogs heading out with her in their winter coats but soon were too hot and had them removed. She is leaving Cooper for the night so she can study then write her test at 7 am in the morning however she forgot his food so had to run back to town to get it.

Stouts are coming over for game night so we go to work tidying; S vacuumed while I cleaned bathrooms and changed the dog kennel bedding. This hard work required another nap by the fire in big brown for S. I continued to put the desk on selling sites while taking a few cookie jam breaks in front of the fire. The dogs were fed after a lengthy play outside then out again with S to put the cats away. The snow finally let up late afternoon but what a lovely cover of fresh powder.

I made tacos for supper with a quick tidy before Stouts arrived at 7 for an evening of visiting and cards. They were off for home at 11:30. I finished the Tiger King season before lights out.

Coffee with a friend

Blocks of sleep seem to be my go to, an odd inner clock wakes me at 3:30 most days to look at the time, then today 4:30 with S up at 5:30 to pee then Shaina makes a cappuccino at 6 for her meeting. She let Lexi out and put in kennel and off downstairs. Lexi made a low grumbling noise until I went and got her and into bed with me where she and I both went to sleep until Harley scratched from the garage door at her usual 8:30. I got them both fed and as I was cleaning the dishwasher out Sharon text to see if I was still coming for coffee.

I changed quick and was off to town at 9:30 as S woke to go to the bathroom. The roads were snow covered and icy requiring 80km/hr to town and -5 out. A great visit was had over coffee and pound cake with lots of work chat too. I was off after 12 to deliver the green accent table, pick up a clock radio for Dad's room then grabbed some beer and off to the ranch after 1. S had ran to the mail returning with multiple parcels. A couple of which were new stool covers seeing our pleather is peeling after 10 years. It seems a cheap way to keep the structurally function chairs being used.

The ones I like are a bit to tall in the back but the left one shows it tucked into a pocket at top in the back. Or it can be pulled down and crunches around the back edge, hmmm??

As I was catching up a few computer things I looked out to see Cooper barking at 2 coyotes moving across the field, Harley was back up with her hackles up but staying here at the house HAHA. My bread dough was not rising today even after moving it to a warmer spot. I did the second rise and hoped for the best. 

Shaina remembered an appointment in the city while eating her soup at 1:30 that she thought was at 3 but found out it was at 2 so in a flurry she grabbed Lexi and her soup and was off. Britt was up from studying in her room, fed her horses and she and Cooper headed home at 3. S took a break from his relax day and took the horses a bale then put the cats away when back at the shop.

Shaina was back after 4 bringing teas, seems she could not make her appointment so turned around and went to the gym to work out. She had a shower and repacked up and was off to the city before 5:30 with Lexi for a sleepover with Jenna. I put the sourdough in the oven after preheating then added a pizza at the end. S and I ate then took Harley for a dark walk after 6 as she was a bit housebound. It hit zero today but was down to -7 so it was a brisk walk but did us all good.

S was back to relax mode on the couch before moving to TV room for hockey game. I worked on catching up the blog, writing a Hometalk post for the magnolia riser tray  before jumping in the shower then crawling into bed to watch more of season 2 Tiger King. S was very happy his Flames won and Oilers lost when he headed to bed.

Projects staged

So it seems I forgot to unplug the house speaker again and it will randomly chime and of course it started at 6 today, grrrr. Harley slept in garage and wanted out early but held her off till 8 when I let her out to poop then back in to wait much to her disappointment. She was fed before 9 as usual then I got my cap made and onto get my 9 am post up. The dogs and I went to let the cats out, brr it is brisk -4 out.

The trinket box was up next getting silver added to all sides, a transfer inside the top lid then a final wax.

Shaina was up late at almost 10:30, fed Lexi then back up after 11 so I had her help me haul in the desk to stage and post. I am still not sure I like the wood tones and top but will see the interest it gets and decide from there. She was off to the gym but back for her 1 pm call bringing me a tea, THANKS!

After a bowl of soup for lunch I finished the last paint module in my course and started working on tutorials. I few photos of the finished trinket box were taken.

Shaina took a break after 4 and she and I took the dogs for a walk. Once back at the house I put the cats away then inside to feed H and soak horse feed. Shaina was eating soup then off to work so I got back to my tutorials for a bit.

Supper was up next to make the last HF meal; bulgar chicken bowl. I also mixed up a pizza dough and put in fridge for tomorrow and refed the starter for bread later. The meal was delicious with Britt and Cooper arriving just as we started eating. She fed the horses and was off in short order. She seems even more stressed about her upcoming test in 3 days. She does however have tomorrow off to study then all next week to relax once it is over.

Computer work for both Shaina and I after I washed up pots and pans, counters and started the dishwasher. The green accent table tutorial was finished. Shaina was back up to make a strawberries and chocolate dessert before heading to soak in the tub.  Around 9 the snow started to softly fall. Now it feels like Christmas. I headed to bed after making up the sourdough to watch my iPad. Sheldon did not make it home till 11:15 and straight to bed.

SNOW on December 1st

I was awake at 8 expecting to hear H scratch at garage after she headed out there after her last pee break but it was Shaina who was up making breakfast while in her online meeting. She let H out then sent Lexi up soon after. I pulled a coat over my short housecoat and went to toss hay to the gingers and open the gate as he is now free to go back in big field and it was crazy how the plus 5 felt just fine on the bar legs. It is December first!! I let the cats out and back to feed the anxiously awaiting dogs their breakfast. 

I was letting them out and to my surprise the raw food van was here delivering our black Friday order. Oh goodness now where to put this 110 pounds of food. Good thing I am good at tetris; I got the paid food all in the 3 freezers and the now frozen deer rib bones in 2 coolers and set outside. This is the only time I am hoping for freezing temps to keep them frozen for the winter.

I then made a cappuccino, started laundry and got to marketing. Shaina was off to town before 11 to train Sharon and do calls from Britt's. I finished the chicken at lunch and threw the carcass in a pot to make soup seeing the day is now cooling off. While watching noon news I brewed up a new batch and bottled pomegranate blueberry kombucha then rejuvenated the sour dough starter. Snow started to lightly fall but was melting at first but started to accumulate mid afternoon. I did one of the last couple paint modules while watching it flutter down.

Time for a new project; a square wood trinket box. It had gooey glue on the inside lid perhaps from a mirror so scraped and got the rest off with my TKO. It was all cleaned then a coat of aubergine brushed on. While doing 2 costs of the paint and folding all the laundry I finished the series Clickbait. I went to start another paint module and decided to take the dogs for a quick walk before it got dark.

It was more of a poop eating tour for Lexi so once back to the house she went in the garage to dry off, I made the horse food and went to feed them. Once Bird was done and back in the paddock I left Pep to finish and went and fed Harley and brought the raw cat food and put them away along with Pepper. Now inside to feed Lexi, whew! Just the HF meal to make for Shaina and I but first a cold beer, work on the chicken soup and blog catch up while listening to the news.

I started the paint module stopping to make a HF meal for supper; shrimp alfredo with roasted salmon. I had finished the soup which worked out great when Britt and Cooper arrived before 6:30, she had a bowl. Shaina was running late and wanted to hit the gym on her way home but went longer then she planned. She met Britt on her way out of the yard stopping to give Pepper his bute just before 7.

 I had started eating seeing it was hot and ready and very tasty. I clear waxed the trinket box while she ate then I was back to the computer to finish the paint module as well as another. S headed to her room with Lexi at 8:30, I wrapped up my computer work and off to bed after 9 to watch a movie called Love Hard. It was a cute Christmas movie.
