Another 30 kinda day with WIND

Warm but windy day ahead even starting at 5:30 let out. There was a bit of a let up when I fed H so put the sprinkler on the forest and the willow. She also got a deer meat search while I hauled a bucket of water to elder. The cats were requesting food next :) Inside I got my cappuccinos going and laundry I have been putting off. A quick shower before stripping the bed and watering all the plants. I am wanting the rain to come as forecast this w/e but would really like the wind to blow away today.

I really need to get the vanity scrubbed to work on while it rains :) so that was next up. Bad idea to shower first though lol. It was so hot in the garage I tried opening the garage and man door a bit but it caused a wind tunnel blowing dust so I had to sweat it out with the scrubbing. I finished up as AJ, Craig and the 2 littles arrived before noon to clean carpets in the trailer. The littles hung out with me inside as I staged the coffee tables. 

They were off for town to get more supplies and the older 2 before 1. I dark waxed the last end table with a glass of kombucha then added it to the photo shoot. Now to put the living room back together and fold laundry loads as they finish.

I then rearranged the dining room to stage more of the fold down table then get it all put back in place. This led to cleaning and spraying the dining room window screens in the bathtub, much better.

In the hot box garage I sanded the drawer fronts and stool and set them all ready to paint. Now to get customers black color choice to go with the teal.

The wind let up a bit around 2:30 which was nice as the temps rose from 26 to 28. The Paetz crew returned before 3 to continue work on the trailer. I worked on getting yesterdays blog posted and laundry. The sun came out around 4 bringing the heat up to 29 and the high winds returned and it rose to 30. Aislyn and I went to put fresh water in the cats bowl.

The kids were having a freezie on the deck and we nearly blew away. Craig and Asher ran to town for a few things including their McDonald's supper. Amanda joined us on the deck until they returned with supper and they ate while holding everything from blowing away. C kindly brought me a mango smoothie, thanks buddy.

They were back to trailer duty once done and I got H fed her supper. I came in to get my coffee table set posted with the kids hanging inside where cooler. B and Coop arrived and we all went out; some to see the horses others to the trailer. Ada and Aislyn pet the horses while they ate and Ada even hosed Switch by herself once others let in.

B had wanted to ride but I said at 30 it might be to hot but at last minute we decided to just go bareback. Ada helped me brush the dried dirt of Switch after her roll and she and I doubled going around the paddock while Archie ran alongside with the 3 dogs and B on Roo. It was quite a menagerie. Arch then ran back and called to say time to go. We rode out to show them Ada's new adventure. 

Seeing B and I were planning to ride we said meet us at the gate but as we turned to head out Harley who was distracted with Clover and Cooper saw us leaving and came charging behind us. This caused the horses to spook forward. Switch lept forward thru the forest and my little passenger hung on tight behind me and we almost made it thru. Switch in her exuberation to get away from the large black lumbering "bear" behind us put her head down causing me to lose balance forward then she quickly turned right causing us to dismount unexpectedly. B caught Switch as Harley tried to lick our faces having caught up to us. Poor little Ada was most surprised and be darned if we did not land on her knee that was injured at school this week. Multiple hugs and we got her loaded up to head home. On the ride home Archie says "Ada why did you even get on that mustang?" :)

B and I followed along to the gate and back in the glorious golden house sunshine. The breeze had a positive side keeping the bugs mostly at bay. It was such a lovely night minus the wind. Roo got her minerals while I hand picked Switch dandelions to keep her occupied then the two of them shared the last few bites. B and Coop loaded up and were off.

H and I came in, she to nap and me a quick shower (washing another window screen while in there too), made the bed with fresh linen and get working on todays blog with my iPad by my side. Eventually I moved to my fresh bed to finish up another Underground Railroad episode.

Today is Shaina Lee's 27th birthday! Happy cake day lovey! XOXO H waited till 6:30 today to go out then to the garage and what a beauty day ahead it looks to be. After I fed her at 8:30 I started water on the forest and willow as it was already climbing to high 20's. Shaina made her cap and did an hours work while I dealt with an Etsy customer and marketing. I made her birthday crepes after 10. We decided to head to the river for a walk seeing it was hot and only getting hotter.

Stopping on the north side we got out to find the river super high with no trail left (usually we can walk along the rock by the far right clump of trees out in the middle of water there) so into the truck once again and across the river to the campground. It was a beauty 31 day but pretty hot for black dog, luckily there was a breeze.

We did about an hour walk then back to the A/C truck and off to town to grab a DQ bday lunch with a blizzard bonus. H even got a pup cup.

We ate back at the ranch before 1:30 while H sacked out on the cool floor still panting. Shaina packed up her camping goodies, helped me move some heavy pieces in the garage and was off to the city to celebrate more of her big day by 2:30. I got started on the dark waxing of the table set. I debated as leaving the warm white had a nice crisp look but too stark and not really rustic.

I got the coffee table dark waxed and another clear coat on all the tops and now that it was 33 I needed to come in to cool down and drink a kombucha. Craig and Ada pulled in around 4:30 to confirm parts for the trailer. H and I went out to chat for a bit then headed back to my wax project and feed H. As I was working on the end table sweltering I thought why would I not haul inside and do in the A/C so that was my next step hauling them both in. H liked this idea too. However once inside I started working on tutorials.

Just before 7:30 Britt, Cooper and Dave arrived. B hosed the horses then fed the 2, I went out to visit for a bit then watered my garden. The potatoes are really poking thru now and peas just starting along with squashes. They were off after 8. I was back in to work on accounting and computer catch up. I started a new series call The Underground Railroad while typing then took it to the dining table as I finished waxing the one end table. It is so sad to reflect history. I was so intent I never noticed nor did H that Amanda had arrived to clean more before 10. While opening a kefir I had to volcano all over the counter requiring a clean up lol Note to self don't leave them over a week as they are even more explosive. AJ left after 11 as I had moved to bed to continue watching my iPad for a bit longer.

My 5:55 alarm clock today was the furnace, it seems the handy man did not have time to check my A/C settings and the set point was to 25. I had overrode it last night when I turned it on and during the night it felt cool but now it was hot and 25. I turned it off texting the handy man then let H out. Prince called and had me check the furnace that was indeed running even though I had set it to cool. Thank goodness for remote technology for our thermostat we updated, he got the set points changed and the A/C was back in action. H went to the garage and I back to bed only to have the darn robin hit big window at 7 am. I shooed him off and fell asleep til 8:30.

Time to get party ready finishing up tidying, making puffed wheat squares and ice tea. The table tops were lightly sanded and another clear coat added. It is 27 already! The deck table got a good cleaning and chairs set up. Dishes scrubbed and I think I am ready for the 2 guests to arrive around 11:30.

Before they arrived I went out to water some of the new plants and haul a bucket of water to elder. Harley requested to go back into the A/C.. too funny. The guests arrived and our deck date was lovely. We had Opa with kombucha followed by a beer/ice tea and puffed wheat cake birthday cake. H raw food was delivered part way thru restocking her for a few weeks. Coreena was off before 2 to get back to her work and Sharon before 3 after we toured her trees.

It was now 31 degrees!! I had a custom vanity dropped off next as well as an antique table I apparently am buying off her ;) It is neat in the fact it is narrow and folds open as well as has 3 leaves but it needs work. I got things moved around a bit and started sanding and distressing the table set as well as more touch ups.

Shaina was home just before Amanda popped out at 6 to get more cleaning done alone. B was out not long after but made it a quick feed and heading back home. I made us some supper then out to water plants, trees and such. Craig and the kids stopped out after Ada's last communion class and Asher's baseball bringing us slurpies to beat the heat, thanks buddy. The kids played while they did some trailer stuff and we visited with the frosty drink they they headed home after 9 leaving Amanda to clean. 

Shaina wanted me to come to the gym and video some stuff but is seems her laundry she was doing had her lulu's wet so she blew dry them while I did my kombucha bottling; blueberry ginger. Amanda popped in for some birthday puffed wheat cake and a quick visit before she was off dfor home after 10. Shaina got her clothes dried and we headed in to the gym to do the videos. We were back home after 11. I finished up the kombucha and did the water kefir; blueberry ginger as well. Once done I headed to bed to finish the Pink documentary, it was good.

June 1 is 29!

I was awoken by dam coyotes around 4:30 am then a stupid crow or magpie at 5:30, wth. Harley was up soon after I shut the windows then the usual out and to the garage. I crawled back but could not sleep thinking of Switch's feet seeing a message from farrier, hoping the kitties alluded the coyotes and hearing the robin hit the barn windows but did managed to fall back asleep till 8:30. I was kinda a slug till Amanda text her, Clover and Aislyn were on their way out and bringing me a tea. I fed H then visited with them when they arrived as AJ ate her bagel to prepare for cleaning. The darn robin was back at the house, think more towels need to go up. Aislyn was the go between to get books and a knife for her mom. She and I went to check on the kitties who had door open all night but of course they were hiding. I lowered the door to kitty only height using Clover as a tester.

Amanda and her were then off to town at 11 to pick up Arch from school. I headed to the garage to hand paint the top edges of the posts and the feet. This took almost as long as the entire bodies. I came in at 1 for a bite to eat and a kombucha. I had a cash register chime ring; yeah it was the last beachy vase.

Amanda and the 2 littles were back not long after to get back to cleaning. I watered my front plants quick and did poop scoop quick then helped AJ stuff her cushions. Inside I got the vase packaged up but the label printing ended up in chaos with the new printer not working. After an hour of troubleshooting I still had the same incomplete print job, grrr.

The kids were inside with me. It got pretty hot today hitting 29 but there is more to come over next couple days they say.

Amanda and I unloaded a coffee table she gifted me then the kids were loaded up and they were off for home around 5:30. I got busy working on a tutorial for the navy valet and was almost done when B and Coop arrived after 6.

She and I headed out for a ride looping the big pasture twice and the paddock a few times getting the girls (Switch & Roo) into shape. It was yet another amazing evening, the wind let up and the sun was all golden and everything is so green.

After our ride we hosed off the ponies then B fed the 2 while I watered my garden. When I came in the house had a heat alert of over 26 so I kicked on the A/C. B headed for home at 8:30 as I was in the shower.

Out of the shower and into cleaning mode seeing I am hosting a birthday brunch for Sharon tomorrow. It is on the deck but bathrooms need to be clean. I then went and put the 1st coat of clear coat on the table tops.

B text asking what size boots I wanted to order for Switch so I went out to measure. I also had gone out to check hydrant handle put down which B did after filling the trough and taking H for a potty opportunity.

We had opened the shop paddock up and this is where they stayed for quite some time hoping to get it lowered to leave Roo and Switch in there when no so hot as no shelter.

Back inside it was time to relax with some Amazon Prime watching Younger and then starting Pink's documentary but shutting off as getting tired and late.
