Harley and Clover meet

No amazing sunrise after 7 am today but it looks to be another nice day. They are saying it will come to an end here soon ;( H and I did our usual up to the marketing and cappuccinos before heading to garage to work on the dresser. the top was clear coated and the entire base clear waxed. Once complete all was buffed and the hardware put back on.

I cleaned the faux wood side table then primed it with a new product for shiny surfaces. I finished up just in time to have my online Etsy store review and help meeting. The gal had many great ideas and tips to improve sales. I will work on them later today. Shaina was up by 11 having chili for breakfast at 11:30. I ate a piece of pizza then waited for Britt to pick me up. We are running to Lonestar to pick up food for Jessie/Mom to send home tomorrow after her teeth done. Shaina was finishing up computer work then off to the gym.

We were in and out of the store in short order and back to the ranch with our co pilots in the back seat. We unloaded and B mixed up the food for Jessie and Bird with some special oil that Bird HATED. New food for bird, Jessie however liked it and now had 2 bowls to eat having left all the beet pulp B had made for her before we left. Lots of choices if she wants.

While B was feeding horses I had cut off Switch's bandage and had her standing in the pasture in her bucket of water for 15 minutes. B came and we applied the new poultice and wrap. I got Harley and her collars, loaded her up and was off to town to Amanda's for Harley and Clover to meet, go for a walk and play. Shaina met us and Archer came along too. We walked the neighborhood across the bridge looking for Stouts soon to be new home eventually finding it (with text & photo help to Sharon). As well we stopped to visit with friends whose daughter Shaina's age had bought a new house in the area and they were putting up Christmas lights and just so happened to have a puppy as well. Back at the Paetz house the puppies got to play and the other kids meet her now that Aislyn was up and kids home from school.

watch them play video

Shaina and I were off and home by 4 for snacks and computer catch up. I cooked up a healthy supper for us to enjoy before Shaina's online meeting at 6:30. Pots scrubbed, kitchen cleaned and it was back to catching up on computer work. I wrote a tutorial for Sharon's bread box.

Just after 9 I grabbed my coat and took Harley out, put J back in the shop and checked Jessie's food. She had licked both tubs clean but left the beet pulp still. Looks like the others will be happy to get it tomorrow. Back inside it was time to finish up on the computer, have a shower and hit the sheets after 9. However I started a new Netflix series The Haunting Of Bly Manor watching 2 episodes before shutting out the light.

Sunrise on fire

H wanted out after 7 and boy were the skies on fire today. SOOOO worth getting up early.

just watch the video of this beautiful show

The usual routine then in for her Kong while I did some marketing finally.

A previous customer dropped off a bed frame before 10 to have it custom painted then was off. I swept and reorganized some things, threw in horse/dog laundry then got busy on the big dresser. I wanted to add definition around the drawer boxes so grabbed a new color and got busy. I was hoping for Shaina's opinion as she was the one who really wanted the solid grey but she was not to get up until after 12 when I went in for lunch.

Here it is on the bottom with the solid above. I set it as a poll on Instagram.

Then carried on adding the darker charcoal along the edges and grooves.

Wanting to see it all together I stuffed in all drawers with the darker blended lower left.

The hardware was scrubbed, the green scrubby removed the perfect highlights.

I painted all the drawers not waiting for any other opinions then in for lunch. Shaina and I had chili then she was onto her laptop.

I headed back to the garage but saw the tractors that were back in the field from 8 am were gone so went to feed and let out the cats.

It was another beauty day that hit 19. KD needed her feet done so Shaina and I walked out to get her and do them. I had Shaina get Jessie's weight for the start of her gain plan, she was 1033 pounds. Shaina also scooped poop out of her pen to keep it tidy and save Harley from eating it all.

Britt and Cooper arrived as we were doing this, she fed Bird and Shaina rounded KD's feet once I was done them all. B headed back to town at 3 leaving Cooper, Shaina was back to her laptop and I hauled out the kids table to sand down the top since it was so nice.

At 4 I threw the squashes in the oven and took the dogs for a hike. We were getting back as Shaina was heading to town to work out. I was working on marketing when Britt was back around 5 bringing me a hot pumpkin spice tea, YUMMY!! We grabbed the supplies and took them to the hay bales on the quad with the dogs loping behind us. We are very lucky to have such quiet horses. We took of the old bandage and had Switch stand in a bucket of water for 15 minutes with no halter while vehicles on the highway zoomed by and the dogs were underfoot. B pulled some tufts of hay on the nets but the one with a large hole had the most interest once Roo found it. We finished the new wrap and headed back to the house as it is now dark, boo. B and C headed home to continue painting closets. B has this whole week off for vacation so that was one of her goals. She has a list of things to do yet.

I made up the soup and was just finishing it when Shaina was back after 6. We enjoyed the hot delicious soup, yummy!! Then both of us got back to our chores. She headed to town to help a friend around 8:30 so I took H out for a pee and put her to bed, finished catching up the blog and ventured to relax in bed myself after 9 and actually shut out the lights just before 10! Harley did wake the household when Shaina arrived back home at 11:45 to get a snack and head to bed.

Horse filled day

Time change does not make sense to dogs(or kids for that matter) so H was ready to go outside around 7 new time. The sky was such pretty pink shades to the west, worth getting up. Once we were done our usual morning routine we rustled up the coffee maker. He continued to pack his hunting bag while I quickly showered then he ran to town around 9 to get an oil filter to change truck oil before heading to airport today. He grabbed a couple things at grocery store and mail and back in short order. Harley spent most of the morning laying in the sun on the deck with J nearby. I spent the morning continuing my cleaning frenzy on the kitchen counters adding the new bread box. I did hike out to check Switch's foot as she was walking a bit better, nothing had broke thru yet.

shaking out the crumbs before scrubbing up I found sparklers tucked in the back

S was back in by 11 showered and packing for hunting and heading north. I cooked up homemade pizza for lunch as well as fresh guacamole. I was then on to my desk cleaning it all off and scrubbing!

S was off at 1:30 making a stop at the cat dealer to test drive their skid steer model at 2:30. Britt pulled in not long after he left. She brought iced coffees, THANKS B. They were perfect on a PLUS 24 day! She took the quad to the horses to evaluate. Once back to the house we walked back out and caught Switch and Roo. I got a message I won another Instagram giveaway; a paint sprayer system, wahoo!!

this dog has no idea that this is not the place to lay

We were working on Roo's feet when the vet Dr Ashley arrived with her helper Will (who Harley loved as he played with her). Ashley checked her over and confirmed it looked very much like an abscess but would like to x-ray to be sure. Britt had wanted x-rays as well so that was next.

While we were trimming the kittens had ventured out that far and continued their exploration wanting to help with the x-rays too. Harley was right there too like a Dr Doolittle zoo ;) I sent the dogs out and closed up the shop as the farmer next door had 3 tractor/spreaders going and trucks bombing around the field. X-rays confirmed a lateral abscess that probably with move up to break out. We shall continue to poultice it. They packed up and were on their way leaving us to finish Roo's feet while Switch soaked standing on her own like a good girl.

Roo was set free when done and we poulticed and wrapped Switch. It was getting a bit cool now so I left her grazing to get a jacket while B walked out to get Bird to feed her. Roo wanted to run wily nilly which excited Switch causing them both to run along the fence line with Switch on the road side. I walked almost to the gate to catch her and bring back minus her freshly wrapped foot to do over.

Bird was set free, dogs were put away and trimming tools and we waited for TJ to arrive to go with him to take Jessie to Murray's. Travis and his new sidekick Tim, a border collie, arrived at 6. I loaded Switch up and off we went.

We arrived back at Murrays at 6:15 unloaded the horses and took them in for assessment. Switch had a small outage but he left until her abscess breaks thru and the rest of 45 min visit was about Jessie. It was decided right away she has teeth issues which very much affect her very underweight body issues and is the first thing that needs addressing. Putting her on a high fat, high protein with good hay and addition complete feed is in order. Added oil is option al and weigh and photograph biweekly. In one month hopefully she will gain enough to get her holding her own thru winter and continue to gain and build muscle. This would be when to evaluate where she is at. No adjustments were made to her still effusive stifle as it will not hold with out muscle. So after our chat we loaded them back up and set off for home.

Time for Tim to meet Harley and Cooper after I let Switch out and put Jessie in the barn pen. B hauled a couple bales over putting one out for her to eat. Shaina was back from her city weekend and came out to meet Tim as well. I called mom to chat over the appointment results while Britt found a spot at Moore's to get Jessie and Slim's teeth done on Thursday. The girls took the dogs inside while Travis and I hauled in 2 little dressers into the garage I had Mom source me in Oyen, THANKS! Then he was off for home at 8 to return with Slim Thursday.

they are allot smaller then I thought but should make selling easier? and they have legs too

The girls were snacking on Halloween treats S brought back as well as pizza for B's supper. I heated up my leftover Vietnamese for my late 8:30 supper. B and Cooper headed home, Shaina made popcorn and she and I caught up before heading to bed at 10. I watched videos till H heard something outside at 11 so out for a quick check and bathroom break then back to her kennel for the night. Whew this was a busy horse day here at the ranch.

Time fell back an hour

I awoke at the usual 2:42 to look at clock then later the roof clock to see it was 1 something. I then was awake thinking am I dreaming I woke before? Then I remember the time change! Cooper was whining outside the door awhile later so I let him out and once I brought him back in I let him sleep on the bed. This was a bad idea as about an hour later I heard him smacking then puking so shooed him off the bed and back outside. Once back in he was sequestered to the couch again. I got up with them both after 7 new time. It is going to be a long day!

H was fed breakfast, eye ointment, started a new probiotic along with her omega 3 pills, Cooper refused to eat. They were in and out all morning playing and sleeping. All my bedding needed to be washed, thanks Cooper. I had to wait for the prince to retreat to the kitchen for more coffee, we split the last muffin.

I added more clear coat to the tile, snapped a few pics then packaged them up to send to USA along with the mailing label. Next chore was vacuuming. Around 10:30 new time S dressed and went to let the cats out and do some shop tasks. I will see later what the task is. He was back in in a bit.

Cooper waiting for his Mom, see not a skiff of snow

Britt arrived just after 11:30 to Cooper's excitement. I pulled on light coveralls as it is 14 out and we walked out to winter pasture to catch 3 horses. We trimmed Bird and Pepper and Switch's foot had poultice removed, soaked, left to dry and we decided to not repoultice booking a vet appointment for tomorrow afternoon.

S came out to work on his project which turns out to be all his antlers screwed on a board and hung with the rest of his treasures. B was off for home after attempting to help hang this board. I went out and cleaned kitty litter and topped up water and food and found all the balls the dogs left out in the paddocks. The wind blew all day but it did hit 19 above, on November 1.

Back inside I continued my vacuuming of carpets which led to a complete move around of the great room. I love a new layout and everything vacuumed and dusted. Sheldon took a drive on the quad to shoot his guns ready for hunting when back home.

At 4:30 he was back so we loaded an antique round table, one of the puppy pens and Harley and set off for town. I dropped the parcel at the post office with 6 mins til closing. Then we were off to Britt's. She and I took apart her big dining table and hauled downstairs while S hung her Christmas lights. I hauled in the antique table and she scrubbed up and we rearranged things and got it set up. The round gives her more space for sure. Then she and I hauled box springs from spare room to the basement and got her washer moved back into place. 1 year later and we are still changing up the condo.

Harley was loaded up and we set off for home but decided to get Vietnamese, a tea and some booze as we headed south. Back at the ranch we ate while I waited for H to get out of back seat of truck which eventually happened. J was put away for the night then we both were busy online.
