Celebrating Kaylin's bday & off leash pack play date

I was out before the sunrise again with Miss H almost all off leash. We played frisbee fetch for a bit then the breakfast search. Inside S had the coffee grinding so enjoyed one of those while doing computer work. S played a bit of tug a war then sat on the deck on another beauty day after getting dressed and eating some toast.

We loaded tools and Harley and were off to town before 10 to help Britt at the condo. I was going to put another top coat on the counter and S install a new tap set and hang the handrail I stained and a coat rack that pulled out of the wall. En route we stopped at Tims to get pumpkins teas/coffee and muffins but they were sold out already, BOO!! Tim bits were next choice according to S. We all got busy when we got there including Britt as dog wrangler.

This head rest is the perfect height H says :)

Harley stay off the couch... video below

After a long time trying to sand the discolored pooled edges I put a wee bit of base coat over it and have to wait and see what the company suggests tomorrow when back in the office. S hung the 2 items easily but the tap was a task as it seemed to have odd fittings needed. He drove to 3 hardware stores and finally found some, got them installed but once we were home B text they were leaking. B loaded all J's cat paraphernalia in the car while I walked H loose leash around her area before we were on our way after 1. We stopped at Opa to get dinner then to the ranch to eat it with a beer on the side. S hit big brown after his exhaustive am and I worked on todays blog.

B messaged the tap was leaking so S went back in around 3. B picked up a new to her black range hood and when S went to install it found there was no vent to the outside! I prepped the veggies and chicken for tonight's birthday celebration and got the chicken on at 3:30. H and I were off leash when the Calgary crew arrived before 4. Shaina jumped into the truck and headed over to train Sharon at 4. Kaylin, Lexi, Devon and Theo came to join us on our first pack play walk and it went very well. It took Theo a bit but he finally came around to wanting to play.

We then came in for a beer and break with Sheldon arriving after 4:30 and B a bit after that. Shaina was back after 5 for a great family gathering. The chicken supper was enjoyed with hot apple pie (birthday pie) served after along with the option of some snickers bar cake too. Today is Papa's birthday, HAPPY CAKE DAY to you!! We will eat pie/cake in your honor too.

Then to the dogs delight all 4 went out for a fun play walk, even J tried to join in but had to make a race for the fence. Shaina did go get him and carry along as part of the group. The Calgary crew loaded up and headed back around 7:30. Britt and Coop were not long after. I made Harley's last walk around 8 and put her in garage kennel for the night after her very exciting day. S was already in bed so I too crawled in and watched dog videos with lights out around 9. What the heck ;)

Harley goes off leash

Miss H was ready to a bathroom break after her early to bed. I jumped into my sweats and were were out before sunrise. Looks like another beauty day ahead. She had loads of energy today too so some fetch in the pen and breakfast search in the grass. Inside she polished off her qwizel of frozen food then chilled on the deck with J joining off an on. I wrote a tutorial for the white chairs I will deliver Monday while enjoying my caps and the quiet morning. Ok there were cows bawling nearby for a bit and gun shots but mostly quiet :)

cuties xoxo above and below

After another walk to go lock up the horses and loop around the west and south sides we ended up in the garage where I started scraping off the chipped finish on the tea cart.

As I was working I heard a dog bark outside, Cooper? Sure enough Britt was at the horses catching Brid to feed. She had ran to the city and picked up a set of fancy new to her tires and grabbed minerals on her way back home. I brought Harley out for a play then put her on the deck and came in for a quick bowl of sweet potatoes and cup of ice tea for lunch.

B caught Pepper and KD to do their feet. I went and got my gear on too. My first customer pickup arrived just as I started but was a quick grab, pay and off. Thanks Brenda.

The next pickup was the navy table done weeks ago. We had a short visit and they then were off and I was back to task. B and I got them done but not without some cussing and KD pooped on me; first time ever. It was the perfect weather hitting 21 with just a bit of a breeze to keep us cool. Once done an horses off we let Harley off leash for the first big time with Cooper. She is that big kid in the class that doesn't know she is and there were a few overzealous plays but they both did really well chilling off and on. B and C were off at 3. She opened the pasture gate on way out and I closed the yard gate.

funny action capture and a video

In the garage I attempted to work on the tea cart but my actual shadow kept standing next to me and this fine dust is not good for her so I gave her a water bath. Seeing last time we needed a few washers I stuck with just bucket and clear water and a towel and it went really good. She liked the scratching portion best. Time for a cold beer so inside at 3:30 with H getting another frozen qwizel. I worked on the blog while she napped then jumped in the shower just before 5 getting out as Sheldon drove up to the house.

Look at the insane price of bones... basically what they toss out unless they can sell to sucker dog owners. A friend's butcher sells an entire cow leg for $2 which is far more reasonable!

Items unloaded and seeing it was such a lovely day now 23 we enjoyed a cold drink on the deck with Miss H who moved between us two for pets and pestered J as he lounged with us too. It was then time to cook supper; corn & sliced mushrooms from the food box and new sausage S picked up in the Hat with loads of other leftover options and pickles. Yum.

It was dark after 7 now and once we were done we called J and took him tot he shop to put in for the night. I fed the kittens and corralled them and took back to their stall and Harley did her business before we came back into the house all off leash again. She napped in her kennel and we had a repeat of last night. We went to bed at 8 to watch/do our tablet stuff and when I went to take her out after 9 she was no I am good, goodnight :). It was a very busy day for this girl.

Kaylin's big day

Happy birthday to our beautiful charming eldest daughter. It is so hard to believe 29 years have passed this quickly. Here is to so many more happy wish filled years of health wealth and happiness!

S was up around 6:30 showering, making coffee and bombling around in the dark. He was off on his scouting mission to AV and MH at 7:30. I was dressed and out with miss H soon after. We did a loop, playing in the pen then let out J on our way back. Inside I gave her the frozen kong to keep her busy. I did a few quick things on the computer then Candace was up and we had coffee and she toast while more visiting. It is always a chitty chatty catch up for sure.

At 10 she was ready to head home. I put H in her kennel with her breakfast and took the quad ahead of her to open yard gate and close pasture gate as the horses were now in. H and I along with J took a short walk out in the east pasture then she spent some time on the front deck while I gathered things and prepped for the day. First task is a jaunt to town so loaded her up in the merc and off we went. The food boxes were picked up then a quick stop at Britt's to let Cooper out for a pee. Next drive thru Tim's for a pumpkin spice tea and muffin!! then drive thru bank deposit and back to the ranch.

I unloaded the boxes while H waited in her back set then took for a potty stop and onto the deck to soak up more sun. This penned in deck has come in useful again allowing her to get a lay of the ranch on her own while contained. Sharon stopped to grab her box I picked up and we visited on the deck for a bit then I was back to finally catching up on some computer work while H napped on the rug.

Mid afternoon she and I went to the barn and put the kitties up in the mez. I cleaned the litter and set it on the stairs just in case. I had posted a large cabinet for sale so H and I went into the storage trailer and I moved things and shuffled it around myself to the opposite wall for better photographs as have a few interested.

A muffin and some fresh pineapple with coffees and area are not cutting it so I cooked up spaghetti for an early supper by 5. I also cooked the sweet potato from the food box. H spent a bit of time on the deck off and on today that is helping to build the ranch atmosphere as well as working on the "place/bed" command. It is another beauty fall day hitting 25!! A quick walk, kittens brought back to the stall and supper search then back in to vacuum quick and tidy as the navy desk is being picked up after supper.

The couple from AV arrived (I put H in the garage with a chew treat) had a short visit then loaded it up and on their way. I got H and outside we went outside to stretch then back to the trailer to measure said armoire. We were coming out when B rolled in around 7:30. I took dogs to pen then we watched Britt feeding Bird. J was tucked away for the night and they were off letting the horses out on their way home. She had planned to leave Cooper for the night and got to Kaylin's birthday party but was too tired after her week and day of work.

After a loop we came in and H curled up in kennel while I did computer. I tried rousting her for a walk around 9 but nope she was good so I left her in the office kennel and crawled into bed. I watched a bit of YouTube but had to shut it down not long after. Hope your birthday party is going well miss Kaylin! XOXO

Candace for a sleepover

The usual start then around to front door and office kennel after eating. Coffee was being made so I fit in one while trying to a bit of marketing but had to go to the deck for a bit after S went and let J out and he came to visit. S ran with coffee in hand to open the pasture gate but horses started out that way but followed him back to the house. He went back and closed it as a few people will be coming thru today. I worked on an Etsy post for the crate taking a few more photos finishing after lunch. H needed her exercise so off we went to loop the east pasture picking up J on our way back. Four helicopters flew over in a pattern; looked like army??

Here they head out following the quad only to come back when he did LOL

A gal from town stopped out to pick up a free mirror and brought me a chai tea. She paints as well so wanted to visit for an hour. I sent her home with the mirror, 2 full cans of paint and a new tub of wood filler. S greased the skid steer then went to the pit to push the composted piles up as a company is stopping later with a load of fill that may lead to more.

The gal was off by noon and S back so it was time for leftover lunch. I was back to computer work while S relaxed in big brown. This load of fill arrived at 1:30 so he hopped on quad to go check it out. H and I went out to grab some stuff from tack room then ended up sitting in the grass with J coming to join us in the now lovely warm no wind 21 sunshine. I woke with a headache and my cough is not improving and my chest was getting heavy but this sunny fresh air seemed to help.

check this video out!! kitty progress

Tomorrow is 6 weeks since Harley's last eye surgery so have to send eye updates. They are looking better.  Below is a video view

The fall asters are blooming even more!

The load passed inspection and was dumped and off for another. S came back, unhooked truck from horse trailer and started watering trees. We enjoyed a beer on the deck after I dug potatoes, put a few more decor pieces away and walked miss H after she stole a potato and was playing keep away - again because I let her just hang while I dug. This weather was fab and could stay till late November.

chewing on her frozen kong on the deck with us

Me and my shadow came inside to post a few more things for sale and package up a tack item. S looped the south neighbors pasture on the quad looking for any trace of Mitzy now the combining was done. Back inside we prepped steak and veggies for supper. The second fill load of the day was dumped after 5.

A tea cart was dropped off for custom painting at 5:45 just as I was going to take H out to search for supper. Once unloaded the wheels were shown to be wobbly so the fellow and I got them off and he took them to fix. It is for sure not in my carpenter wheelhouse. He was on the road after 6 and H and I out in the amazing evening right after. S threw the steaks on and soon we had supper. A jumped in the shower quick.

It was so nice out we had to get back out and had hit 23 as a high. S went to let the horses out of the far paddocks after sequester while the fellow was dumping. B and Coop were out not long after. The pups had a rip in the arena while we did kitty care and a walk outside then the townies were off. Candace arrived not long after for a sleep over and evening of visiting over a couple drinks. S headed off to bed before 10 as he is off early in the am to do some hunting scouting. Candace was off to bed after 11:30 as was I after I walked Harley who had been sleeping on her bed beside us. Once she was put in the garage kennel I went to bed and watched just a bit of YouTube before shutting it all down.
