Projects and more rain

Rain was in the night and lightly falling when I awoke at 8. The usual cappuccinos were underway before a bit of marketing then off to put the jewelry box together and stage it up.

The red chair was clear waxed and left to dry while I cooked up a sautéed veggie lunch. The rain had let up now so I checked and the gauge showed 4/10ths.

I wrote a tutorial on Britt's sofa table and posted the jewelry box on my Etsy store. Then it was back out to black wax the chair. There was another bit of rain around 3. It let up after 4 so I went out to give supplements and apples and broccoli Kaylin brought. They loved both treats, thanks K!

Boring chores such as vacuuming Lexi hair and finishing laundry were more indoor rainy day chores to be done. Sheldon comes home tonight have a short work week taking a few days vacation to go to the evening show at Stampede Saturday. Oh and he is golfing in the am, rain or shine but sounds like rain.

Bird was self exercising then Switch finally joined in. Perhaps she was just keeping warm too. I went out gave her gastro and got Lola in for the night then worked on marketing. I also posted a few ads for Kaylin looking for a massage table. I had 2 replies in short order but both over her budget.

Evening with the Paetz tribe

Todays wakeup call was darn pigeons cooing right outside the open window on the deck at 5:45 am. I shooed them away only for them to return at 6:48! Dang birds. I did get back to sleep until the usual 8:30 cappuccino time.

After marketing I got busy painting the custom chair its first coat of red. After giving Bird her gastro I hung plastic bags on the deck in hopes to detour the birds.

The sweet pink jewelry box was dark waxed before lunch break. I was all out of my faux mercury spray so tried a combo of spray paints outside. I think it worked ok. I finalized a collaboration with the wall planks company but went with peel and stick wallpaper in a distressed farmhouse look. However once they saw I was in Canada the offer may be reneged ;(

My to do list had fertilize roses so I did that seeing rain is forecast. The horses were given their supplements seeing I will be late tonight. I headed for town at 3:30 dropping the stinky trash off first then running to Walmart to do a quick return and grab groceries. I cannot be out of milk for my morning cappuccinos! I dropped my Etsy parcel off on my way to the Paetz house.

Craig and Amanda were off to their bull bustin date night before 5. The kids and I had a great evening playing games and watching movies. Lots of snuggles and giggles and even tried out a new popcorn machine. They were back before 11 and off for home I went in the drizzle. Of course it stopped before the ranch but did eventually make its way here in the night.

More feet trimmed

Cooper managed to sleep thru the night but Lexi needed a bathroom break around 3:30 am. And it was raining at this time too. She was then back to sleep till I let all dogs out at 8:30. Time for a cappuccino.

I wrote another tutorial, this one for the last set of faux tin tiles. B was up for a cappuccino. I got the tiles staged up and sent to the customer. She picked the two she wanted so time to package them up ready to mail.

B and I changed and headed out to trim feet. Bird was the first candidate then Switch. Once done we went for a nice ride. The day was cooler at 18 but was mostly sunny. The girls were fairly frisky having not been ridden for awhile. We let them in the round pen, I caught and added Pepper then we went in for a hot dog and guacamole for lunch seeing it was now 2 pm.

Back out to trim KD who B caught. She assisted with rasping like the first two as well as put the 3 back in their paddocks and gave supplements before she loaded up Cooper and was off for home after 4. I watered my peonies and new asters as well as the garden spinach by hand and turned on the shop tank to water the trees. However once I came in and was working on marketing I looked out to see it not spraying so unplugged it and will leave to try and unblock later.

Inside I had a smoothie supper with a side of grilled asparagus and a cappuccino :) crazy meals for sure. The jewelry box was clear waxed as laundry was underway. I worked on more tutorials including the blue spice rack and pepper grinder.

Time to stage a few pieces with the peonies and Lexi while both are here ;) Hopefully her cuteness and their beauty will sell these pieces, what do you think?

Wrapping up my day with a shower and crawling into a freshly made bed with Lexi and Netflix was a great way to end the day.

Happy Canada Day!!

Happy Canada Day everyone!!! It looks like it will be a great day. I was up and marketing before 8, I wrote a tutorial for the red chair. S prepped coffee around 9 and enjoyed a relaxing morning. He did go out and spray the trees with soapy water in hopes of getting rid of this tree scale. I weeded; an on going process. B was up fairly early on her day off too for a coffee. I finally put together a frame of the ASH show ribbons from exactly a year ago yesterday.

She did venture out before lunch to vacuum out her car then to town to try and clean carpets. I hauled out the table saw and cut some pieces for the custom ordered faux tin tiles. When cut I sanded and embossed them.

S enjoyed time in big brown prepping for his travel day. While the tiles dried I cleaned up another jewelry box and painted it a coat of a new pink I got then I was back to working on the tiles. S sprayed the tree with malathion after his nap before heading to the airport after 2:30.

B napped too as I worked on the custom chair. It was very wobbly so I took apart the front legs to find a snapped off screw. Once the holes were cleaned out I reglued it all, put back in the new and old screws and left it to dry well. The tiles had 2 more colors added.

It was now about 3:30 and seeing it was so lovely I decided I would ride so changed into jeans. Once out there I changed my mind and caught Daisy to trim her feet first. B joined not long after and caught Roo to learn how to stand. It wasn't too long and a huge dust storm then some rain blew in making for a crappy day.  We finished the feet then let them go heading in for a bite to eat.

I put another coat of paint on the jewelry box as B went out to sort horses into paddocks, put on Bird's rain sheet and replenish the salt/mineral and filled far paddock water tub, good job B! They are forecasting a rainy week, lets see as only a few drops today so far.

B was then back to her Netflix and after working on the blog some while watching Instant Hotel I headed back ot the garage. This time I sanded the pink jewelry box and black waxed the tiles.
