what a difference a day makes

Ash was up just after 7 quietly watching his ipad on the couch. I was letting Lexi out when Amanda came up and Ada out too. AJ had Ash dressed and they were off soon after to trek to town, grab a bite of breakfast and pack lunch and get Asher to school for 8:20. Ada and I ate pizzelles and played "shopping". AJ was back around 9 and soon after Sheldon joined us for a coffee. He went out to feed the whining cats, pitch a small square to the horses only to find that his secured teepee was indeed flattened yet again ;( Archer did not wake up till around 10! They got packed up and headed home to their now heated house at 10:30.

Sheldon and I looked at flights for our next weeks planned get away but in the end booked nothing ;(  After lunch, Sheldon took a drive to pick up his finished bison hide while I stayed home to catch up on the blog for last few days.

 Prince was back before 4:30 with his latest bison rug. Time to get back to the vacation details, sadly the really cool one in Quebec City was sold out as was a flash promo.

 Time to make supper then get back to searching, what a pain. And still no decision by bed time. Shaina had her first shift this evening so Kaylin had to wait until done and what was thought to be ending at 10 was moved to 12 and them not home till 1:30 .

Kaylin's big day comes with a big storm

The wind blew in rain around 1 am as I was turning off Netflix but when I awoke around 2:30 it had turned to sleet. Lexi was not a fan of going out at all. I laid awake for the next few hours watching the lightening as it bumped the power off repeatedly which beeped the phones. It was quite the storm and upon waking the now snow was iced over all the windows and the wind continued to blow hard. NOT the day Kaylin had planned to celebrate her birthday. I realized I had left all the flower pots out so in my housecoat went out and drug them all inside the garage.

Birthday girl was up by 10 for coffee and after a bit confirming her brunch date was cancelled I made her toads in holes. I made some for sleeping beauty too who finally came up after much rousting. Time to open a few gifts then off to play Nintendo and take their mind off the terrible weather outside.

108 hand knotted mala made with Onyx, Larvikite, Tourmalinated Quartz, and Hematite. This mala is strung on black silk string and finished with a dark grey tassel.

I made pizzelles since it was such a yucky blustery day but there was some drama happening with my iron to hot and dough not enough oil but eventually I slayed the dragon. The girls and I chatted while doing so and thru dishes.

I would make Lola come in to warm up, seems keeping your nose warm buried under the dirt under the deck is not so warm ;)

 Poor Amanda has had no heat after the storm in the night and most of the day so her and the kids headed out here after school to spend the rest of the day and stay the night. There were many cars in the ditch as she made her way out but it was starting to clear off. I made bday girls supper request of AV sausage, pasta and creamed corn and after 6:30 Kaylin and Shaina made the trip to the city to celebrate with friends. The sun was now out with a pretty sunset but the wind still howled. They did make it safe passing many cars in the ditch too.

 

Manda and I visited, put kids to bed then each headed to our beds after 9. I watched more Grey's awaiting the Prince's arrival. He did not make it home however till almost midnight on the crap roads. The wind had now lessened and when I woke at 2 to help Ada with a stuffy and let Lexi out at 2:20 it had completely subsided!

Sunday's weather is just as yucky, high of 17 yesterday may not even be reached today. They are saying that snow storm will roll in tonight. I had originally planned to go at about 4 to clean out the boot today but changed that plan to get there by noon when they open. Seeing the girls have today off it most likely will just be me going so best get over, get loaded and get home.

I chugged 3 cups of coffee this morning in preparation. Britt text they arrived in Vienna safely, another country to check out. The clouds opened for a bit of blue as I made my way to the booth but the hurricane winds made for both hands on the wheel. The wind was biting cold and proved a pain in the butt while moving the pieces out to the car. However as the reigning tetris queen of furniture I got every piece in my car in an hour. Deb, a gal from yesterday's class met me and purchased the coral nightstand. Thank goodness as I had just an exact amount of room for the stuff that was left. Goodbye booth 46!

I made a stop at Cross Iron at my favorite store Home Sense to see what was trending. Did an exchange at Saje getting new diffuser blends then stood in the never ending line up at Tims for a tea and my lunch - a Boston cream then headed off.

Back home the girls were off on a photo shoot, yep in this crazy wind but it was mostly inside an old house they claim is indeed haunted. Here are some photos Kaylin took.

I had unloaded a bit of my stuff and the girls did take a few minutes out of their Nintendo marathon to help me get all downstairs, thanks girls. Shaina ran to town at 5:30 for yoga getting back at 8:30 to resume the game marathon.
