metallic is back

The day started cold and windy, brr but sunny. I put the dresser back together and spent an hour staging then moved on to posting it and writing its blog post. What do you think of the warm white and gold?

The nightstand was good and dry so I began it's makeover giving it two coats of cast iron then one coat of metallic java! The hardware got sprayed to update as well.

I have a custom coffee table that I may be picking up tomorrow and she would like a sage color so I painted up a sample board and when dry dark waxed them as an option too.

I updated both blogs and posted ads and such but the internet is acting up again. It was going so well ;( I did however get caught up in candy crush jelly till after 1 am ;/

get back to "biz"ness

I was very much looking forward to today. Sheldon was up at 4 am and off to the frosty north. I managed to get back to sleep but was up with coffee to motivate fairly early ready to start back to work. Prince at work, Shaina and Britt back to school, Kaylin working I think so now it was my new creation plans.

I caught up on online stuff then prepared to paint the cranberry dresser. Since it has not sold, I need to choose a more universal appeal color, limestone it is. We had turned down the temp in the garage and since we hauled the dresser inside, I chose to paint right here. Fusion is NO VOC and easy to clean up so off I went. I taped the gold off and throughout the day I put 3 coats of the creamy warm white on. In between coats I updated the last 3 blog posts and started a new post for the dresser.

I did brave the cooler temps in the garage and hauled out a couple things to scrub up. Before scrubbing of course the nightstand needed repairs and vacuuming out. Then it and my newly purchased type set drawer got a good scrub and hose down and left to dry.

It is a cold one today so after wrapping up my work day I got to enjoy about 4 episodes of the Fosters curled up in my warm cozy bed ;) And for supper I enjoyed multiple slices of delicious roast beef and a cheesecake!

 this is the reason this little scoundrel was in trouble on NY day, she kept trying to steal Lola's bone, tonight she hauled it inside then ate HALF of it in short order while I had a bath!

restock the store & birthdays

We awoke to a fogged in yard but it soon burned off. Busy day today is starting with coffee and a bagel. Sheldon had Shaina's jeep started and soon she was up and joined him to change the oil in it in the warm garage. BRRR it is a cold one out there folks. By 11 Shaina was off to the city followed by Grama and Papa heading the opposite direction to the Hat. Britt did come up to say good bye but was using her last day to be very laid back. I loaded up the car once it was backed back into the garage with items to go to the store.

Sheldon rolled out a bale for the ponies as tomorrow is his first week long stint up north. After a bite to eat, he and I were off to Airdrie. I planned to do a quick return at Costco but after seeing the return line, we skipped it going straight to the booth. My partner was there already with her husband. She and I got busy reorganizing the booth, the fellows brought in my new dresser and end table and took out the cranberry, thanks guys! Then they were off to Tim's to visit while we finished up. They did bring us a tea back for our pickup about 2 hours later, here is the booth when we left.

It seems the cranberry dresser needed more room so the ride home had the little 140 year old chair riding on my lap ;)

We were back home at 5:30 hitting fog again close to home, the temperatures were all over with major -27 cold pockets to the house reading -16.  A quick beverage and by 6 were were heading to town to celebrate Asher's 6th birthday. Today is also Mya's 8th and according to my call to her this am, her celebration is a movie with 3 little buddies later in the week. Hotdogs and kraft dinner were the supper menu followed up with picachu cupcake. Thanks for inviting up Paetz family and Happy cake day to my two little buddies!!

It was then time to fill the car with fuel, head home through the fog pockets to unload the dresser and prepare for the week ahead.

1st day of 2017

January 1 2017, welcome new year. It was softly snowing still when we awoke and much cooler as forecast. Coffee and some catch up started the new year then I got busy tagging stuff to take to the booth tomorrow while Sheldon got his roast's garlic herb butter made and potatoes started. I also gave my new curlers a run, yep I should have learned on a head in front of me but eventually I got the hang of it. Going forward I will have less missing hair!

Britt was home before noon from her NYE party and sleepover at Brooke's. Surprisingly she looked not to bad after her night out. We even hung her new picture. I was notified I had another feature post on Hometalk, this one for the putty dresser. Overnight it had loads of views and by noon over 8,000.

I was lighting the fire as Grama & Papa arrived. Not long after the Paetz's arrived finally able to get out in the social circle now they are all on the mend from their Christmas colds. Kaylin & Lexi were the next to show then Shaina. Now all were here to make the night a great visiting games and delicious meal get together a success. Sheldon's hand crafted potatoes and roast  were scrumptious as was my cheesecake dessert.
