Mon-Tues-Wednesdays

First work/school day of 2016.. good luck Britt, tomorrow Sheldon is off to start first 2016 shift at Sunshine. Today though was a slow day at the ranch. The sun was nice and it hit PLUS 1 which is awesome but the news says big changes coming this week.. dang it!

It was not till after lunch anything productive was done other then marketing and blog updates for me. Sheldon rolled out another bale for the horses while I organized the storage room restacking all Xmas boxes and such.

Poor Sheldon's cough and sniffle is getting worse so he stocked up on syrups and pills to take back and tried a few naps. We did manage to fit in a few episodes of The Last Kingdom to round out the day. Only 2 episodes till finished.

Off on a later flight, Sheldon made it safely up north once again to start 2016 shifts at the now oil flowing station. I managed to sleep in once he was off and until D needed out, yeah! It was now time to get back to work. The unique table got more sanding to start. The interest in the little kids set from yesterday was confirmed so I gave it another coat of poly on the top. She also ordered a custom painted spice rack after loving Shaina and Sharon's so it got scrubbed up ready to paint.

The coffee table got scrubbed as well as the latest oak table I acquired.. I have plans for it once my Cece Caldwell rep package arrives.

Marketing took up the rest of my day, some interest so hoping reposting most on Kijiji helps as well as trying to stir up sales on Facebook. Scandal rounded out my evening.

Wednesday was a get up and get feeding dogs and sending out before they spent the -14 day inside. I was off to town around 10:30 to grab some Benadryl for the incessant rash from something, grabbing a tea and heading to Hanna. The next 2 hours driving were uneventful, usually there is a storm of some sort.. unless you call thick fog for half hour long before Hanna as treacherous ;) Then I spent the next 3 hours in the dental chair with a major bridge prep for excitement. At least I got to catch up on everyone's lives while there. I mailed a parcel only to meet an old friend working there which was nice then grabbed a bag of Miss Vickies (my first meal of the day hahaha) only to find the prices in Hanna grocery stores to be the same as that of their convenience stores!! Take me back to average price Strathmore please.

I stopped at Walmart on the drive back home to restock dog food, OK and some ripple chips with dip ;) and grabbed a burger for supper. Back at the ranch by 6:30, it was ground hogs day of dog feeding and letting out and back in minus Lola. Today was my travel day, much like Prince Ali's and was tuckering. I had called him on the way to find him in his room in bed having called in sick today with the cold worsening over night. I sure hope he took all germs along with him! After eating my burger and updating the blog I think I shall crawl into my cozy bed and catch up on more Scandal episodes, cheerio folks!

day 4 of nights out!

Sleep in Sunday, I was up to let Diego out at 10 but Sheldon slept till 11! Britt did not surface till closer till noon ;) I enjoyed an hour visit via phone with Coreena and a coffee, always good to catch up.

After lunch Britt went out, caught Bird and rode in the arena. I think her plans of riding much more during her days off were squelched due to winter finally hitting but today at -4 she bit the bullet. She has all her laundry folded and stuff ready to head back to the new semester today.

I flogged B and S to help finish the last two horses feet. B opted to catch Julio and feed him while Sheldon held the 2 while I picked and trimmed. More hands make light work even if it is just holding right? 7 of them are all done now letting my back heal till next time.

Tonight is day 4 in a row of going out for supper, pretty good way to start the year. Sheldon and I headed to town to Paetz's and Britt soon followed after loading her car up ready to head back to school. Craig pan fried some steaks to go with Amanda's delicious baked potatos and sides, yummy. Britt was then off before the birthday cup cakes came out to celebrate master Asher's 5th birthday!

The enjoyable evening wrapped up around 10:30, thanks for the great meal and visit Paetz family! The temperature was only -2 heading home after being -12 on way in. Back at the ranch we finished the series Blood & Oil and started season finale of Quantico but I could not stay awake, tomorrow perhaps ;)

supper date & 2 Bday's

Today is double birthday day.. Mya turns 7 and Asher 5, Happy Birthday!!

It was a beauty day hitting a -3 high. I however woke with a pinch in my neck to match my back feeling nauseous so was a slow start till the Tylenol kicked in. Sheldon watched the juniors hockey game, sadly they lost and out of tournament now.

He then hit the bed to sleep while I took the tree down and put away all Christmas and vacuum main floor. Always a good feeling especially not the drugs were working ;) Once he was up he got the tree box from the shop and loaded it up and put it back in storage. Britt spent the whole day in her room reading, yep she finished the series of 7 and started a new one about the same number of books.

Around 3, Sheldon and I jumped in the car stopping in town to get fuel, wash it and stop at rental for a quick check then grabbed some teas before heading for Airdrie for our supper/visit night at the Bare's. It was a yummy meal and fabulous get together, We were home just after 1 am. Thank you Bare's!

welcome 2016

Sp here it is, 2016! Time ticks away but seems to get faster each year. Today is a gorgeous -1 sunny day!!  B was home around 10 looking a little worse for wear and straight to her room ;)

Sheldon gave Diego's sleep area a sweep and hose down fresh for the new year. I headed out just before 2 to catch Daisy and start her trim. Sheldon joined me to hold her and Britt sluggishly came out and caught Hawk for him to hold as well. She picked his feet and was off to lay in the hay until I was done both trims, released them and back to the house. Sheldon kindly swept up!

I chugged a beer and put on pain release on my still stoved up back, changed into clean clothes just as Shaina pulled in. She caught Baby and I helped her trim her feet too.

Usually our New Years feast involves seafood but this year Sheldon had a hankering for pizza and beer. He also had a gift certificate he received for his birthday from Boston Pizza he wanted to use up so after pizza preferences input he ordered up supper.

Shaina's friend, Brad was the first to arrive. The blazing fire was the hub of the evenings visiting as Kaylin (Aaron was under the weather so could not make it) then the Paetz family.  The pizza delivery guy returned with enough pizza to feed an army.

Shaina and Brad headed to the city after supper then Kaylin around 8, the Paetz's were off around 10 leaving Sheldon and I to catch another episode of The Last Kingdom. A successful family filled way to start the new year! CHEERS!!
