1075 - gorgeous melting day

Day 1075 Britt came in to say that Bird and Switch were out in the herd, seems Bird in her big blanket bust thru the hot fence to join the gang. There was the usual posturing but the day was not to bad. After Britt head off to school and Shaina went down to her bed from mine, I got busy in the shop. All the while I kept an eye on the herd.

I waxed the frame, mirror and snack table then staged pictures and posted. The frame sold right away.

Gail stopped out with some frames she scored for me at a garage sale, THANKS Gail!

After she left, I headed out and caught KD moving her to the small paddock behind shop much to her displeasure. I removed Brid's blanket and brushed her taking time to brush Switch as I passed her each time. She came right up to greet me when I first went out, such a sweet thing she is. Next it was time to catch Baby and add her to the Jenny Craig pen, she was even more displeased!

 It was then time to paint the 2 chunky little kids chairs 2 coats of paint each.

Shaina had a headache all day but eventually she went out later in the afternoon to change blankets on KD and brush her a bit more. I looked out the window to see switch on the outside near the shop. It seems the horses had cornered her near the gate and snow mound so she lept over, up over the huge bank and to safety of the shop side.. perhaps she will be a great trail horse!

I went out, caught her and she and I headed down the lane to the far gate. Her in hand trail classes showed well as she walked and trotted on command at my shoulder. Once back in the pen,, along with Diego with whom she is completely infatuated, we moved along the other horses to more open area and they went back to eating. Diego and I cleaned out the mineral tub with a snow bath, chipped out the middle frozen gate and closing it. This allowed me to let the 2 fatties out for more room to exercise themselves.

By now it was 7 so I made sausage and macaroni at the sick princess's request. As we were eating Britt arrived home from working after school to join us. She then got busy downstairs supposedly tidying room and homework... but not sure. Shaina was off to visit Emily around 9 so I updated the blog and relaxed as the sun set!

1074 - pick up Switch A Roo

Day 1074 it was time to get back in the shop. After the eggs arrived I scrubbed a large solid end table, a folding snack tray and 2 kids chairs. Then remove hardware too. I waxed the mirror and glazed the frame before lunch. Britt had dropped the truck off at the shop for another repair on her way to school.

After lunch a glazed the mirror, white dry brushed the frame, painted the snack tray top before coming in to have a cold beer then back out to repair 2 wood projects with glue and clamps, then sand the snack table.

Britt was home with repaired truck after school. Today was about plus 5 again as well. Shaina was home from work just after 4 so we all ate some supper and got ready to head to polox practice. It is being held at Jacquie's so we will pick up Miss Switch a Roo tonight as well. (pictures tomorrow) this is her on the tight last summer

Shaina rode Bird and Britt KD during practice while I went with Jac to get Miss Switch. She loaded well and once back at the barn came in with me to watch remainder of practice. By 8:15 all horses were loaded up and we were back on the road to the ranch.

We put Bird and Switch in the paddock together and fed them hay before coming to the house for a warm bath and homework for B.

1073 - first acupuncture for Shaina

Day 1073 was a foggy start but eventually sun out -5 to plus 3, Britt was off to school in the fog. Slow start to the day for me as I waited for a lady who picked up the milk and cream lazy susan.

Shaina and I went to town for her first acupuncture (she ended up only getting magnetic silver seeds to start),  then to registration for her vehicle and my company, grabbed a tea and home.

Back at home we took dogs for a walk but the wind was bitter cold so it was only about half hour. I painted a mirror and picture frame 2 coats, distressing the frame to reveal the pretty gold.

I then made supper for Shaina and I, she left at 7 to show off wheels and then celebrate friends birthday staying overnight at Jennas. Britt worked after school and was home at 9:30.

1072 - Shaina gets her Jeep

Day 1072 was a short sleep for Sheldon. He fell asleep soon after we were home at 12 but was up and out the door before 4 driving himself to the airport. I was up early worrying after he text saying the suitcase was left at the AA office as no one there. Britt will drive the truck this week as we have practice Thursday night and need the truck here.

April Fools, this is NOT sand!

I spent the morning reading emails, getting things sorted and getting back to normal. Or what ever normal it can be on a cool -5 grey April Fools.  Jenna drove Shaina to town to meet the dealer just before noon , I was close behind hitting the bank, grabbing a table and chairs then off to my massage. All this travelling had me in knots but Cassandra worked her magic.

A quick stop at work to drop a letter for Sheldon and quick visit with Sharon before Shaina picked me up in her new set of wheels, a 2013 Jeep Wrangler.  We stopped at Tim's and cruised even giving me a go. She and I stopped at Amanda's to show her and have a quick visit. Just so happened she had fresh cookies coming out of the oven!

Shaina dropped me back at my car on her way to work for 4. Britt stayed in after school for a dental cleaning then was off to the city with friends to the Divergent movie before getting home later around 11 just after Shaina.

Only in US.. only if I had a bigger suitcase I could have brought back tournament empties to fill my glass tree!

can you believe this got thru US security in my purse? thank goodness it did though!
