984 - furniture progress & RO cleaned

Day 984 Shaina was up in the dark getting ready to meet Travis at 6:30 am to head to the mountains! I was up at 9 and soon Britt crawled in with us. Sheldon finally got up around 11 as she dozed on. I sprayed the hardware more, put the mirror back together and staged a few photos and brought the black and white round table up as it is tentatively sold, to a gal originally from Oyen. She found my listing on kijiji which links to my facebook page and saw many Oyen people as followers so asked, turns out she is from there too, small world.!

Britt was up at 1 but soon headed back to her bed still feeling like crap and the rash persists so stopped the penicillin. Yesterdays -3 dropped later in the evening and today it is still cold -15, oh the ups and downs! and more snow arrived overnight too.

I started painting the rocking chair, seems I forgot how tedious spindles are :-) clearly it has come back. Sheldon went out on the skidoo after replacing the new belt and then worked tacking up the drywall the plumber cut out when forgot to do something in the furnace room. He also recharged and cleaned the RO water system.

The couple arrived as I was wet distressing the rocker. Turns out the table was too small but after a tour in t he "shop" we found one that was perfect! It does require refinishing now though so would be on the slate to do if they go ahead.

Shaina arrived home at 7 as we were finishing up supper. She showered up while we watched Red 2, very entertaining. She was then off to the nieghbors staying out till after 2 (after I suggested sleep helps the body heal)

983 - sick kids day!!

Day 983 was a semi sleep in. A storm as predicted came in during the night causing a few power bumps and snow accumulation but -3 temps. Shaina came up crying with her sore throat upset she could not get her 11 am work shift off but luckily we had some antibiotics on hand from Britt's last few illnesses. She took them and some Tylenol and sucked it up.. a little bit at least until she had to start her car and saw the snow. Soon Britt was up crying about her head and throat so she took the other prescription.

Sheldon who went to bed complaining of a sore throat and gurgled all night donned his warm pants and took the skid steer ahead of Shaina down the road. But soon he called me to come with the truck to tow him out!!! It took a few hard tugs but got it out.

Shaina returned home from work nauseated just after lunch and hit her bed. I made them both hot lemon and honey tea to help with the throat pain. Sheldon pushed more snow after taking a lunch break. Britt managed to run to town for a job interview, good luck B! I added more glue to the rocking chair as it was still not really stable. Then did more wet distressing on the dresser, waxed the mirror with the company of Travis who was waxing Shaina's snow board for her.

Sheldon rolled another bale out for the horses and loaded up bales for another customer too then came in for a nap :-0) I added more spray paint to hardware before coming in to make supper. After supper Sheldon and I went to watch Furious 6, Britt was sleeping in the TV room and woke up to watch as well. Travis was back to finish Shaina's board and joined us for the end of the movie. Shaina woke up from her day in bed and we all had a visit as they planned their boarding trip to Sunshine in the am before he was off to Amanda's just after 11.

982 - birthday for Mya and Asher

Day 982 is Mya's 5th and Asher's 3rd birthdays, hooray!

The day was another beauty hitting plus 3. Busy morning once up, Sheldon was off to take Matt's dog to the kennel, Shaina was off to work at 11, egg lady delivered eggs, the black dresser customer dropped off an old rocker to paint matching.

I got to work gluing the spindles on the chair and try and get it sturdy. I wet distressed the dresser after them ok'ing the color, sprayed the hard ware and added more glaze to the mirror. Sheldon watched the juniors game and while doing that he and Britt kindly took down the Xmas tree and mantle decorations. It always makes the house seem so large after taking all down :-)

After a yummy taco supper Britt Sheldon and I loaded up and went to town just after 6. Shaina was just getting home from work and a stop at the gym to shower and come back to town. I grabbed a bag of ornaments from a gal then the 3 of us went for a tan before heading to Asher's cake party at 7. Travis was back from boarding with Kaylin and Aaron to join in on cake too. Shaina had some cake before hitting wing night

Britt taxied us home at 9:30 but soon was off to Kyra's for a hot tub not getting home till 1:30. Shaina was home at 10:45 complaining of strep throat so off to bed.

981 - Happy New Year 2014

Day 981  was an early start to the new year. Seems some of Britt's guests were not feeling so well so called parent to come. One started a vehicle just after 8,Ada was up a bit before which had me statled to a baby crying at first :-) The parent arrived and loaded up kids and took the vehicle home around 8:30. Asher and Craig came up at 9 so I went out and made coffee.

Amanda and Ada joined us for a visit. Soon our kind neighbor was coming up the drive plowing the snow. Sheldon then decided he too could come join us and started a fire. Shaina arrived home after keeping Samara company at the Paetz's. Seems they did a house swap that worked well for both sides. Sheldon made melted ham and cheese biscuits for brunch. Britt joined the visiting circle after Kyra headed home.

Matt returned to have a coffee and bring Oscar for a play date. Paetz's packed up and headed home just after 12:30. Matt and Sheldon played some pool.

I worked on glazing the mirror then painted the dresser base. Sheldon went out in the gorgeous weather at zero to push snow and shovel from the sidewalks. The girls even went out and snapped some horse photos. By the time the sun was dropping so was the temperatures going down to -13.

Kaylin and Aaron arrived at 5 as Sheldon and I were relaxing in front of the fire, me blogging and him surfing the net. After a wee visit and them opening a few gifts they went to TV room and joined the other 2 girls. I started the annual seafood preparations, this year crab, shrimp and the newest addition calamari with salad, roasted asparagus and rice as sides.  It was scrumptiously delicious as usual!

The evening continued with a  pool tournament before Kaylin's left at 10 and a canasta game played out till after midnight!
