677 - Asher day

Day 677 was a lightly snowing white winter day. Sheldon was off to spend one of his last few work days at Encana and Britt was off to school on the bus.
The storm prevented Travis from coming up so Asher came to spend the day with me today while Amanda worked. He arrived around 9:30 and we enjoyed the morning playing, watching TV shows and he hung out with me in the garage while I distressed the round table and waxed the legs.

this is an issue, seems Diego likes to mark all furniture in the garage, I moved the leg out of the puddle before taking the picture! Diapers might be his answer

We had lunch and soon after it was nap time for Mr A. While he napped I buffed the wax legs and applied the first coat of polycrylic on the table top as well as vacuum the hutch top and sanding areas. After his nap, we skyped with Shaina who was in bed after the half moon party. It was 5am in the morning but she enjoyed visiting with us. After  the chat we bundled up  and he and I took Diego, Coco and Mr Jenkins for a walk.
this is the craziest cat who loves walks.. or runs most of the time

Britt and Sheldon enjoyed visiting with our wee guest. A lady and 5yr old stopped to buy the last of the lacrosse equipment and he chatted them up too. Amanda stopped to get him at 6:30 just as I was getting supper going. Steak supper was enjoyed at our new farm table for the first time, odd how strange it was to sit around a table after so long.
Asher loves his buddy Coco, perhaps he will be a vet as he gives the vet kit a good chewing over as of late

After supper I went to work in the garage but when I went to sand between poly coats there were a few whoops. Of course there would be but hopefully the touch up paint will blend in with the semi distressed rustic steel blue table which soon will be my first item for sale.

676 - snow day

Day 676 was a  stormy day as predicted. For most of the day it was a complete white out with visibility returning around 4 but still blowing and miserable. It was  stay in bed for the first part and play games and surf the net our our dueling tablets.

Britt and Amber were up around 11 making french toast. Her brother bared the storm and picked her up around 12. I was out in the garage working on my home made chalk paint and little round table project. I also sanded some of the hutch and removed hardware. Sheldon stayed curled by the fire reading papers for his new work project until his need to crush candy took over. He did take a break to put guns in his new gun cabinet after I restored the handles with restore a finish for him first.

my assistant says it is cold and stormy outside

Sheldon went out around 5:30 after it cleared up to plow the gate area for the bus tomorrow while I jumped in the shower. After a yummy supper of homemade sausage, noodles and veggies it was relaxing with a blazing fire. I did go out later and applied a 2nd coat of chalk paint to the table top.

675 - foggy day

Day 675 found us fogged in from late in the night or should I say early morning. The coyotes were right in the yard and after awaking Sheldon he grabbed his gun and was off. Off in his skivvies and a haze of deep sleep. BOOM he let a shot off and I figured he did not even make it out the door it was so loud. Darn it seems he pulled right at the last second and missed.. that was the end of all noise but the fog was like soup even then.

Britt worked at 8 so Sheldon was up too and ran her to town in the fog. He had to pick up a truck end gate handle and tea and was back home by 9. Of  course it was Saturday so why would I not be up at 8? :-) It was a very relaxing day though so can't complain.

I spent lots of time trying to find more furniture and creating a new furniture blog, Creative Moments. This is where I will post my projects I have done and perhaps even some for sale. Sheldon took a bale out for the ponies and put some pellets in covered feed tubs after I found MICE had infiltrated our sacks in the shed. I had 2 ladies stop to try and buy lacrosse equipment. It is good to see it go to other kids playing the fun sport.
Laundry day so I also washed up the spare room and tried the new bedding I picked up, like?

I also spent time in the garage sanding the round table and washing down the hutch. Sheldon and I headed to town at 2:30 as I needed to grab some plaster of Paris as I plan to make my own chalk paint for my table project. Britt was done at 3 and it seems she is still suffering from a sore throat even after she just finished 10 days of antibiotics. She ran in to grocery store and grabbed Popsicles which she thinks will help ease the pain.

Now it was time to get back home. Britt went to bed of course. Sheldon to his candy crush game and I made  short ribs for supper. This recipe is a favorite, can't wait to eat them. I cannot believe though the price of short ribs. I bought 2 packs each with 4 beef ribs and each were $8!! That is crazy, who would have thunk it for short ribs but it has been this crazy price for awhile or at least since I have to buy in the store.

Another lady stopped at 5 for lacrosse gear. The fog lifted in the afternoon but it stayed just below freezing, nothing like the plus 12 they called for Calgary. They are saying a storm and snow is to roll in tonight, let s see.

Supper was so yummy. The fog rolled back in around supper and stuck around. Britt had me take her to a party around 9:30, just a few miles away and it took about half an hour to get there and home as the fog was like pea soup. Luckily it cleared by 1 am when her and Amber got a ride home.

674 - March 1st

Day 674 is March 1st already, again I ponder where the time has gone. Shaina is half done her trip, amazing.

Anyway it was a golden Friday, Sheldon's last one to be exact. He and Britt were up and off by 8:30 as he kindly dropped her at school; avoiding the early bus and then going to his 9 am massage. He spent time running errands after getting coco food and her metamucil and himself truck parts and washing it. Me, I spent cleaning and laundry as usual Friday events, and checking out my new treasures.
He was home by 11:30 and after I created an amazingly delicious strawberry avocado salad for lunch we were off to Standard. I had flip flopped on buying a hutch and an oak dresser from a gal out there but decided to go get them. They are pieces that have potential for sure.
hard to see but this plane is pulling a white missile type thing all around our place, no idea what it actually is

We grabbed tims and filled with diesel on the way. After loading up we were back at the ranch before 2 and had them unloaded in the garage. It was time to get stuff together and the horses loaded as we are going to RJ's free riding night from 4-7.

Britt was home via the bus about quarter after 4 and after she changed we all jumped in and were off. It was a beautiful plus 6 sunny day. Lesley met us with two of her steads. A few others showed up too but for the most part it was a private ride. Later after riding Bird successfully Britt jumped on Enrique at Lesleys offer. All went well until a scary blue barrel caused chaos and the next thing I saw was Britt taking the ejector seat ride coming down in a pile by the scary blue barrel. Enrique continued to buck like a Calgary Stampede pony for a fe minutes. He and I had a little visit about scary barrels big and small (crinkly tin beer cans) and he decided he would try it again. He and Brittany continued around the arena till rides end.

around 7:30 we loaded up and back home to the ranch for hot baths all around!
