620 - finally a day off :-)

Day 620 was first Friday off, yeah!! I did however get a wake up call just after 9 from Stephen Harper asking me for cash! Sorry buddy!

Fairly relaxing morning as we prepared to head to the city. When I went to be sure Britt was out I found her feeling terrible with headache, fever and achy body. Needless to say I drugged her up, gave her cold water and left her at home with Coco as nurse maid.

Sheldon and I headed into the city around 11:30 stopping at the horse trailer repair place to grab my trimming tools. Yes it is still there, seems the big steel front finally arrived but it was the wrong one, of course it was!! Next stop, after lots of driving the wrong way and areas according to Sheldon's directions was to pickup a "new" hood microwave for the rental.

On to future shop for a return then finally to eat at Le Pho, Sheldon was hungry enough to order a large soup

Costco was the next stop for returns and restocking :-) It was time for a hot Tims chai tea next on our drive to my dermatologist appointment. Once I was finished up there we made our last stop before going home at South center mall. It was a good day when we grabbed a Starbucks for the ride home. I had the creme brule (YUM) and Sheldon tried the new vanilla spice latte which he enjoyed as well.

Back at the ranch, we found Britt sleeping but she did get up a bit later to eat some soup.

619 - coffee table construction

Day 619 Britt came to work with me only to be picked up at 9:30 by Amber's mom and off to the city they went shopping for the day. I had a super busy day at work, even working thru most of lunch. After work I ran to pickup Shaina's last Roadhouse check and parcel and had a quick tan before venturing home.

so one fun feature on my ipad is the photo booth where you can take funny pictures, I took this of Sheldon and it cracks me up every time but when I got home from work yesterday this was my screen shot and screen lock.. guess who was playing with my ipad while I was at work

Britt arrived home at 4 just after I did. She made some good purchases with her Christmas money.

After supper Sheldon went out to work on the coffee table a bit while I updated blog and got stuff tidied up and ready to be returned to the city tomorrow before we both hit the sheets. Britt of course spent the evening in the TV room. No word from Shaina today.

618 - Asher turns 2 and Mya turns 4!!

Day 618 is little man Asher's 2nd birthday and princess Mya's 4th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY you two!!

It was also back to work for Sheldon and I, boo  :-( so off to work we went. Britt slept till noon and played games, I want her life :-)

I arrived home just after 3:30 and updated the blog before vacuuming the main floor to put down the freshly washed rugs and couch cover back on and enjoy a cold beer. Sheldon tried a new Big Rock variety called Hell's Bock and really likes it.

We had a quick supper then jumped in the truck to go in for birthday cake for Asher. He had fun opening all his gifts and playing with them.

Once back home I chatted with Shaina, here is the quote from her day...

"not much at all kinda rainy. lunged then bathed scotch, fed the chickens, caught the chicks cause she wanted to make sure some lived but we ended up building a pen for them and the mom instead so let them go after that. its 5:30 pm. we were outside all day. we chase sheep like twice a day. fed "Eladie" the pregnant mare. played with Te Whetu."

617 - Happy New Year 2013!!

Day 617 is a whole new year, 2013! It is amazing to me as I remember Prince's song 1999 and thought it was so far away and odd, then I lived thru the end of the world on millennium and that was 13 years ago!! But then I think of all that has happened since both those times, wow. Happy New Year 2013 everyone!!

Today was very relaxing, Sheldon brought me a tea in bed, he loves to play with his tassimo I think. We spent the morning relaxing then he went to fetch more boards changing up his plan and design for the coffee table. The day was again nice at -4. Shaina let me know at 11 she had arrived safely in New Zealand. I plan landed on time at 6:30 am NZ time and she was thru baggage fast waiting for her ride to come at 8:30 am. She said the plane was enormous, she was given blanket and pillow, the TV was touch with tons of movies many current. The food was great, the only downfall was her neighbor whom she nicknamed Fat Amy after a TV character who had bad breath and farted foul broccoli smells most of the 14 hour flight!!! She has been saddened that she has yet to find a friendly person in the crowds, most are just curt or rude in her eyes. I said we Canadians are usually on the friendly side to strangers, most other countries just carry on but will be friendly once engaged. Or at least I hope this to be true.

I spent the day doing a puzzle Grama and Papa passed on to Shaina of the Sydney Oprah house while listening to my 2 new Florence and the Machine albums. Sheldon worked on sanding boards, rolled out a bale, burnt another tree then ran to town around 3 for more sanding discs and gas then pick up Britt from her sleepover.

I finished the puzzle just before supper. After a steak supper we all worked to take down the tree and sugar town which made the room seem larger again and tidy. Still the mantle and such to go but will do tomorrow.

I skyped Shaina at 9 which was 5 her time, she had gone to a lake and checked out the farm, the little guy (pronounced Too Fet Too) was lots of fun and reminds her of Asher. He is just a few months older and enjoys spending time with her. She gave me a quick peek out the window to see all the green, how lovely. Her charger/converter is not working so her computer is dying. She hopes to go buy a new one tomorrow.

Kaylin and Aaron arrived around 9:30 from their Kelowna vacation to pickup the young puppy. Have to say a puppy is much like a baby... lots of work and attention needed.. and laundry! Seems she likes to pee on my couch and rugs and floors just as much as outside. Thanks goodness she is cute :-)
