Wicked winds

The new neighbors to the west, who arrived last night, had their kids running and screaming around before 7 am, despite the hurricane-like winds. What the heck. S slept through it, but I was restless all night as our tablecloth flapped noisily. I got up before 9, removed it from the table, took Harley out for a pee and started the coffee. I savored a coffee in bed, a comforting reminder of home while reading in bed. S woke up before 10, relaxed with his first cup while browsing the internet in bed too.

How sweet is this note S found when he was working on a crossword book from '94
nope I did not throw the book away as hardly any puzzles complete and this note was meant to be found 20 years later

Har was quickly fed outside before returning to her kennel, as she was not fond of the winds either. I prepared a yogurt fruit bowl for myself and served S Cheerios with blueberries and bananas to start the day. We lounged in the recliners, reading and working on a crossword puzzle until Amanda and Aislyn arrived to play cards. Archie came over a while later, while the others stayed in their beds, relaxing with their devices. Craig was a bit under the weather today so it worked out to be a perfect day to stay in bed.

Back in Calgary the Boysis family was attending Nathan's step sister's wedding.

it looked a bit windy there too but sure did not stop little miss

a whole pile of cuties here XOXO

Asher and Ada emerged just after 3, followed shortly by Craig who now had his sea legs back. He then took a few kids and the dog for a drive around the campground. After his return, Amanda and I took the dogs for a walk while he prepared the paddle boards. Then, he accompanied the children to the sheltered main beach for some water play. Sheldon settled in for a nap. After AJ and I returned to the trailer, I spent some time reading while she started preparing supper.

Once S was up, he decided to cook supper, braving the winds to grill the shish kebabs. He shucked the corn outside, and I took care of the cooking inside. These, along with the delicious garden potato salad, made for a delightful meal. Afterwards, we were invited to the Paetz's trailer for ice cream, birthday cake, and a visit.

We braved the winds and embarked on a 4.5 km walk that lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes around the campsite, - a crew of four adults, four kids, and two dogs. We discovered that our loud neighbors had relocated to another site by the beach and was doing karaoke at 9:30 pm – lucky new neighbors, indeed! Unfortunately, it was still too windy for a campfire, so we retreated indoors. The kids settled in with their devices while AJ & C joined us in our trailer for another round of card games. They didn't head back to their trailer until after midnight. Afterwards, I tidied up, read for a while, and S quickly fell asleep to the sound of the persistent winds.
