After a typically restless night for me, we managed to sleep until 10. Papa called to get details on coming over today. Coffee was brewed, and the day began with a bowl of yogurt and fruit in the sunshine.
The MH Kuhn car pulled up before 1, laden with pizza and a cooler full of snacks, typical of Ma K, thank you!! Darren also came to partake in the birthday festivities, bringing additional pizza and cinnamon bites. The afternoon was spent enjoying snacks, throwing axes, and socializing. The celebrating 60 birthday cake was a homemade cheesecake, delicious!
Gooch returned to the city after 5:30. We engaged in an exciting game of Five Crowns. Thanks to Candace!!, who purchased a bag of wood for $17, we were able to cook smokies over the fire. Even S managed to maintain the fire at a very small size for his standards.
Ma, Pa, and Candace returned home around 9 as the sun was setting. The crescent moon cast its glow over the water. Once inside, I washed the dishes, S took a shower, and then we settled down with a brief reading session for him and an episode or 2 of McLeod's Daughters for me.
