Amanda’ birthday day

Today is Amanda's birthday, happy cake day to her.  It was pleasant 17 degree temperature upon waking, but the temperature rose swiftly. The forecast predicts temperatures of 34 degrees, feeling like 36, with the possibility of hail, wind, and rainstorms later today. Hopefully, that won't occur. S took Harley out at 8:30 after her 12-hour kennel time, put on some coffee, and watched Asher fish on the shore with a bowl of cereal and his coffee. He spent allot of time calling around about new trailer tires.

I joined him outside with my coffee and cereal too. Soon, other kids joined Asher at the waters edge. Once they saw we were awake, came over to play the axe-throwing game. Sheldon also helped the boys set up a new finishing rod so 2 could fish. Amanda got a lovely sleep in day with bacon cooked by Craig.

I began writing the blog at the picnic table, but it was quickly set aside for a game of cards. Amanda. Asilyn and I walked the dogs to main beach and back. The paddle boards were inflated, and the kids were soon paddling away. Craig took his turn as well, going out for a while. S grilled hot dogs for his lunch and greatly enjoyed his time on the lounger. It turned out to be a day filled with axe entertainment too.

S was hot so took a dip in the reservoir to cool down. Harley might have too had it not been so rocky to get in.

Craig dashed into town at around 5:30 to pick up a birthday cake and supplies for supper. Meanwhile, we carried on with our card games, axe throws and visiting. When he returned, they prepared burgers, and we cooked chicken, feta, and spinach smokies, accompanied by potato and broccoli salads—delicious.

We ignited a roaring fire just as lightning streaked across the southern sky. The storm was predicted for around 9 PM, and it arrived right on schedule. Amidst the chaos, we hurried to secure everything, including retracting Paetz's awning. After extinguishing the fire, we retreated indoors. AJ and C joined us once the kids were engrossed in their devices, ready for a game of cards. Surprisingly, the fire reignited and was soon blazing once more outside, yikes. We played Russian rummy deep into the night, concluding the game late, with them leaving around 2 AM. I read until 3 AM while the winds howled throughout the night.
